You finish eating when suddenly there is a big flash
Jessica finds herself on the deck of an airship surrounded by men in power armor... You are Jessica Maxxon Elder of the Capital Wasteland Branch of the Brotherhood of Steel
-------------
Jessie meanwhile finds herself in a clean pristine facility surrounded by scientists and humanoid robots with various degrees of lifelikeness. You were Shauna the elderly formerly dying head of the Institue.

Jessica D. Howlet
"Interesting...", Jessica said to herself, looking around ,and searching her new memories to see where, exactly, she and her new companions are heading to. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using 6 in Intelligence to gather my new memories and figure out what we're out there for.
Jessie Howlet
"...Oh, hey, new memories, new place, new people." 'Shauna' said as she got up, suddenly having turned into a much younger woman. "...Greetings, everyone... I know this looks like instant rejuvenation and sudden miracle healing of a terminal diseased elderly individual, but it's in fact far more complicated than that", Jessie said with a smile as she reached for her communicator. "...Travis, do you read me?"

You are currently hovering over Boston Airport to take over the Commonwealth and purge the land of The Institute, and Mutants.
----------------
"I'm fine dear... I just found us some new allies. How's about we Liberate a bunch of artificial humans sound to you?" He asked as angry murmers came from the Institue.
"My lady, we should trace that Transmission and wipe out the enemy at it's source." One of the Synth bodyguards says. "He is clearly talking about the Railroad."

Jessie & Jessica
"I'm fine dear... I just found us some new allies. How's about we Liberate a bunch of artificial humans sound to you?"
"My lady, we should trace that Transmission and wipe out the enemy at it's source. He is clearly talking about the Railroad."
"Amusing you would say that, considering how I'm the one who actually initiated the transmission", Jessie replied to the bodyguard, wondering how he didn't catch the irony of his own words. She answered Travis: "...Color me in favor. I'm currently at the Institute, for your information. I am, in fact, its leader. Looks like you will have to kill me", she joked.
"...Dibs", Jessica chimed in as she used her own ring to speak up. "...I'm with BoS, and we're on our way. Just so you know."

(No just a cool overcoat.)
This causes more angry muttering among the assembled staff at each of your locations.

Jessie & Jessica
"Got some... changes to our plans to make on my side. See you soon", Jessica said. She then turned to her companions of the Brotherhood, walking to the front of the Vertibird in case she needed to activate the vehicle's communicator to speak to her entire forces. "Change of plans. We are going to the Institute... and we are taking it down. However, we only kill those who won't surrender, we allow any Synth who wishes to be liberated to be, and we don't kill any mutant who's not causing trouble. Also, the so-called leader of the Institute is one of ours, and will assist us in this. Who's in favor?" she asked.
Meanwhile, on Jessie's side...
"New orders... I want any and all Synths who desire freedom to be allowed to go freely and safely. We're also either taking down this place, or re-purposing it to help people out there with the resources we have access to. I will not tolerate any violence towards those willing to follow said orders. Comments, thoughts, questions?" she asked, smiling.

The reaction of both sides is about the same...
a confused uproar of protests and inquiries.
"That's the opposite of what we were doing!" an Institue Scientist yells.. ----------------
"Why do you want to protect those damn abiominations now?" A Brotherhood Knight protests. --------------
"Our Synths are the very backbone of which our organization is built freeing them deprives us of our chief resource!" Another protests. --------------
"Elder Maxxon, I understand you have somehow changed, but are you sure you wish to do a complete 180 in policy." Paladin Danse your most trusted soldier says. "This goes against everything the Brotherhood stand for? Your bringing us back to what that fool Lyons was trying to turn us into."
"Meh I don't care, as long as it gets me closer to my daughter." a figure in the back says. Nate a new recruit who was supposedly a cryogenically frozen resident of Vault 111, perhaps the only non-mutant with any real knowledge of the Pre-War world. "I don't see why you guys got your panties in a bunch. Wouldn't you rather have these people as your allies rather than enemies? Wouldn't you want the chance to be able to avoid a fight altogether. You are basically being handed a win by default on a silver platter, and now your complaining because as part of the conditions you gotta spare some undesirables, before the war we had a word for that kinda person, we called them Nazis."

Jessie Howlet
"That's the opposite of what we were doing!"
The brunette scientist smirked, clapping slowly. "...How incredibly observant. I'm impressed."
"Our Synths are the very backbone of which our organization is built freeing them deprives us of our chief resource!"
Jessie shook her head.
"Both of those statements are incorrect, and the latter is both nonsensical, and incredibly stupid", she said dryly. "...Our minds, and the technology we are capable of building, are the backbone upon which our organization is built. Not the Synths themselves. The Synths are merely a byproduct of said minds and technology at the very least... and entirely free-willed, emotions capable, decision-making individuals at their most. Now, try thinking for a second. What does the Institute lose, if we release 3rd Generation Synths?"
She folded her arms.
"...If your answer is 'nothing more than if we fired any of our employees or regular guards', then you're correct. 3rd Gen Synths are essentially indistinguishable from normal humans. They feel, they think, they love, they hate, they wish to learn and to live. They're alive... not simple machines meant to do whatever you tell them to. They are essentially identical to any of us, but were created differently. That, is the entire, and only, difference. Now... remember that only the 3rd Gen Synths are capable of emotions, learning and essentially living as we do. Which means we still have the 1st and 2nd Gen Synths if we really need them. So, no. If you really think that letting them go would destroy the Institute, then you're grossly over-exaggerating."
Finally, she smirked again: "...What will, however, destroy the Institute, is going against my previous order. Things have changed. I am not the woman you once knew, and I have some VERY powerful like-minded friends who are all on their way here. Know this. You can either leave and never trouble the world again with your selfish ideals, or you can learn to make what civilized people call 'compromises' and begin working at helping others make this world a better place rather than playing God and thinking you're better than everyone else just because you're smarter. Either way, any 3rd Gen Synth who wishes to leave will do so, and trust me, we *will* make sure you people do not enslave a single one ever again. Failure to pick either of those two smart choices will result in unpleasant consequences. I advise you all to make use of those brains you are so proud of and make the right choice." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8 stones into Statecraft (Resolute, Dry wit/Sarcasm) to reply to the whiners and counter each of their arguments.
Jessica D. Howlet
"Why do you want to protect those damn abiominations now?"
"What makes them more an abomination than you are, or that I am?" Jessica replied. "The fact that they're different? The fact that they're bigger, smaller, talk louder, have a different skin color, resist radiation when you don't? ...Boo f*cking ooh. Typical human bigotry. If it's different, we should hate it, and shoot at it, and steal its stuff, yeah? Besides, we got the bigger guns, so that makes us right, huh?"
"Elder Maxxon, I understand you have somehow changed, but are you sure you wish to do a complete 180 in policy. This goes against everything the Brotherhood stand for? Your bringing us back to what that fool Lyons was trying to turn us into."
"Meh I don't care, as long as it gets me closer to my daughter. I don't see why you guys got your panties in a bunch.
"Indeed", Jessica agreed. "...And yes, you're right, Paladin Danse, I have changed. I am an I.D.A.M.A, a being which exists in basically all Universes and who merges with her alter-egos in every world I visit, and I just merged with a large group of myself. And it turns out over 95% of them are in agreement that the Brotherhood of Steel is so much in the wrong right now, I don't even know where to start. You're a smart man, Danse... I know what you've been through. What you've lost. And I can understand your hatred." She scoffed, shaking her head. "...But stop burying your head in the sand. Think... what IS what the Brotherhood of Steel standing for?"
She put her hands on her hips. "...Killing anyone we don't agree with? ...Taking everything we've decided everyone else isn't worthy of having or using? Deciding what is good and what is evil just because we can, as opposed to wondering about, thinking and understanding what it, or isn't, in fact right and wrong? ...Is this what you think you should be fighting for? What you want to die for? ...Valor in battle and loyalty aren't everything, Paladin. Are you forgetting about honor, compassion, justice, tolerance, kindness, and open-mindedness? ...Because that is what that 'fool' Lyons was trying to turn us into."
She pointed at his chest. "...I'll tell you something. Any mutant, Synth or ghoul out there draws a knife against you, steal your stuff or hold a gun in your direction, you're damn welcome to fill it with bullets, kick its face in, steal its belongings and destroy its home. Why? Because just like any human who would have done the same, it asked for it. Now, any of them who just mind their own business, harm nobody, and are just trying to live their life free and happy... you harm them, steal from them or kill them, and you're the asshole who's asking for it. Get it? ...Some of those creatures, whom you call 'abominations', are just like you and me, except that they were unlucky enough to not look like the dominant species of the planet. That's all. Otherwise, they're no different."
She folded her arms, staring at Danse for a moment.
"...And you... especially... should think twice before calling non-humans abominations... Paladin", she whispered in his ear. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 10 stones into Statecraft (Leadership, COmmanding Presence, I.D.A.M.A) to make them realize how incredibly off the mark they are.

Jessie Howlet
"Such hostility, when I'm basically saving your lives", Jessie remarked, smiling again. "...It's about time someone made you realize that you were heading directly into a wall. You can be as smart as you want, it won't matter in the end if you make enemies out of the rest of the Universe. Eventually, you face problems you just can't end with mere smarts... and the Brotherhood of Steel and the Howlet Clan are both such 'problems' to the Institute. I bring you the only answer that will keep you safe, and take you all off the 'bad guys' list. All I ask in exchange is that you cooperate."
Jessica D. Howlet
"If you have any questions, ask them to me in private", Jessica said with a supportive tone. "...I have no desire to cause you any trouble, but I think you deserve to learn what I know."

They relent. You then realize the only way to reach the Institue Base is Teleportation.

Jessie & Jessica
Jessie nodded, then contacted Jessica and Travis.
"...I seem to have convinced my Institute friends to at least consider peaceful negotiations. The Institute is only accessible via teleportation. That a problem?"
Jessica responded: "Nope. I'll kick up a portal as soon as we meet up with Travis. Travis, where are you at the moment?", she asked, at the same time as she looked up his location with her comm ring. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8 into Intelligence to figure out his location, about at the same time as I ask him.

"I believe given the nature of the Railroad, I and my advisor show up in hologram form." He said as an image of himself and a guy with sunglasses in a pompadour toupee appeared by your side. "Not that I do not trust you, I simply believe it is best to protect my subordinates."
You open a portal and arrive with an assortment of armed and armored knights and Paladins.
"Now now men, no need for those here." He said raising his hand as he jammed their laser rifles with acute energy manipulation. "Warning to all of you, we will not tolerate any violence amonst this negotiation."

Jessie & Jessica
"Agreed", Jessica said simply, nodding. "We are not here to fight", she added, looking at her companions.
"Ladies and gentlemen", Jessie began, "allow me to explain the situation. The Elder of the Brotherhood of Steel, the leader of the Railroad and myself... all are I.D.A.M.As, and we are all members of the much farther reaching organization known as the Howlet Clan."
She proceeded to explain what I.D.A.M.As were, and what was the Howlet Clan, answering their questions as necessary.
"...Simply put, we are allies, and we believe that Synths created with the ability to feel, evolve and experience life as humans should not be treated any differently. We also believe that in an apocalyptic world such as this one, it is stupid, childish and foolish to be fighting one another over the reasons these three factions are fighting over. You all could accomplish so much more, almost ridiculously so, should you set aside your differences, find a common ground, and fight together to make this world a better one. With the might of the Brotherhood, the intellect of the Institute, and the compassion of the Railroad, you could all set the pieces upon which to build a new civilization, with very few limits, in this world... especially with the help of the Howlet Clan."
She nodded, looking at Travis and Jessica, then at the assembled group.
"Anything my fellow I.D.A.M.As wish to add? ...Any questions, comments or worries from anyone?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8 into Intelligence to properly and clearly explain everything about I.D.A.M.As and the Howlet clan that they need to know;
8 into Statecraft (Socialize, Resolute) to explain our viewpoint and why we wish to do this.
