Two concepts sent: One for a poor girl pushed to fit an ancient belief of rebirth, other for a woman who despises anything not purely mutant.

Submitting 2.
Kree-Ovoid space ronin.
Smuggler thief (still ironing this one out, but pulling a lot from Han Solo and River Song)

Just as a heads up about what looks like my definitive pitch, thought I could share it around (even if it's done, no CAD to save space, she has low amounts of TP/TK/FF and an unknown to her fat fire mastery of sorts) The day starts with a cold shower and meager food, as such is the life in the temple for Aura. Cursed with a fiery red hair and the gift of mental powers, she's a candidate to be the vessel of the Phoenix, she has the chance to be Jean Grey reborn. But in her mind, Aura is just Aura. Abandoned as a child to wander the Xavier as the very ship wanders the space, Aura survived on scraps until a member of the cult found and took her. Even today she wonders about the need for faith in such day and age, but in the empty cosmos it seems that a good part of the mutantkind still needs to believe in something beyond understanding. The temple gives her no time to waste, as they insist on training and honing her small mental gifts, that's when they aren't showing her objects that allegedly belonged to Jean Grey or drilling on her what they know of the days she was walking the Earth. For someone outside the temple it could look as hopeful devotion, for Aura it reeks of tortuous desperation.
The saddest thing is that Aura barely knows who she is. The temple took her so young with the only objective of overwriting her with Jean Grey that she has barely any room to develop a personality. On the peaceful days she just goes along with the wishes of the masters, adrift in her own life while others manage her every choice. On the worst days she just refuses to cooperate and takes any amount of flogging the temple punishes her with. At least feeling pain is feeling something that belongs to her, not a borrowed thought from a borrowed life. Maybe she could be a doctor, if they let her just be... she could help others with their injuries the same way she treats her own.
The day normally ends in her prison-like room. There she lies on a restless sleep, lingering pain, forgettable dreams. Sometimes she wonders what would be like being someone else, someone with real power. Oh, to be that person, leaving her dried corpse, just a charred husk, to be reborn. But she doesn't want to be Jean Grey, as that would mean changing one prison for another, and would validate all the things the masters had done to her. Can she be just her... but better? Maybe the next day is the one, they have told her that since she refuses to be of help, one of those days she's going to end with an X-Men team. They hope that either she ends up awaking as the one they seek or ends up dead and stops being a nuisance. Neither of those would help Aura, and only one of them would let her rest. | |

I'd like to join in if possible. Only thing is, I haven't run or played MURPG in a few years now, so have to dust off the books and might be a day or two before I dredge something up. Probably a flying brick. If you have enough players, that's no problem. Will subscribe and remain an interested observer Cheers, Paul

I still haven't set a cut off date for that, yet, but I have some quality ones already, so let's say if I haven't made any momentum sometime by the end of the first week of January I'll make selections then.

Will probably end up making decisions on this this coming Saturday. Until then, I'm going to sit here, hypnotized by the Flux Capacitor.
