The trailer is finally here and it looks quite classic and funny, I like the vibe of it.

I think it may just be the way they cut the trailer, but I'm not feeling it. It comes across like a "Scary Movie" style parody of a Ghostbusters movie. I guess I was hoping that the all-female Ghostbusters would be more than just the exact same movie but with women. Maybe that's too much to expect from a remake/reboot/sequel or whatever this is.
On the other hand, Kate McKinnon cracks me up. Unless the next trailer is a lot better I'll probably watch this if/when it hits Netflix.

I guess that as a reboot it kind of walks the fine line between being true to source to please people but without being too close to the sun, it will probably have the same kind of trouble that The Force Awakens had: Offering too much familiarity can dull the movie a bit. That said, there is already a fan recut of the trailer that works way better:

Yes, that's a lot sharper. Hides the bad dialogue. But I'm sure it would still get voted down to infinity by the redpills. ~TWF

As far as I'm concerned, the trailer only makes me wonder, how the hell did I ever think even for a moment that this movie might be good? ...And it leaves me with unpleasant silence as my answer.
Heavily stereotyped lead characters (and I mean a LOT more than the original cast!) who are basically the exact same as the original Ghostbusters, only female, and ridiculous only (as opposed to the subtle balanced mix of serious, funny and ridiculous the original cast had). Hyper bright, neon colored ghosts which look more like an actual toy than slimer (which was the only really silly ghost of the original story) did, and who act in a non-scary, non-eerie, non-creepy way (stands there, does't move, then pukes all over the closest person's face. Seriously? What's next, fart jokes? A ghost with hemorroids?). Re-using basically the exact same scene as the original rather than coming up with something new and cool ("Don't worry, girls, the ghost looks peacefu- BOOOO").
This is Ghostbusters if Ghostbusters had been an Adam Sandler movie.
I don't mind the all-female main cast; I'm all up for women taking more active roles in any sphere of society. What I do mind, however, is greedy skinflints taking one of my favorite franchises of all time and turning it into a stupid joke with almost no thought given to its scenario other than 'let's try to make it look like the original, and add a bunch of CGI left and right' all for the one and only purpose of making money by riding on the popularity of the originals.
Ghostbusters died when Harold Ramis passed away, God bless him. To hell with this movie; I will from now on ignore its existence and still refer to the PS3 videogame when someone asks me what happened to Ghostbusters 3.
Sorry for the rant... I felt the need to type it down somewhere, lol. XD

Ghostbusters died when Harold Ramis passed away This seems to be the crux, yeah. It's too bad that so many people (many of my friends included) are putting the blame entirely on the all-female cast, when really, this is just a crappy sequel/remake in a long line of crappy sequel/remakes that happens to have an all-female cast. There's some hope that it's just a terrible trailer, but I guess we'll see. ~TWF

Yep... I'd be happy with it being an all female cast if the whole thing didn't seem to suck so bad. XD
It is my greatest hope that they will get the memo and change everything they showed in that trailer (except maybe the cast: they are decent/good actresses; if they had a DECENT script to work with, they would be fine!), but seeing how they seem to delete every negative comment they can get their hands on on the 'official' trailer videos, it seems more to me like they're going the 'shut up, it's our way or the highway' path, which is a shame.

Also, I can't stress this enough: if you guys want a good, true Ghostbusters 3, play. The. Video. Game. PS3 at the very least, don't know about the other consoles (though there's a version on PS2, but it wasn't nearly as good as the PS3 one). It's seriously amazing. Written, and voiced by the original cast. It's all full of goodness. It feels like being IN an actual GB movie.

You have to admit, TWF... up until the last third of the video, it was less pathetic than the first trailer! ...And then it went worse. XD
