When all of Professor Xavier's students except Cyclops were captured on the living island of Krakoa, he assembled a team of all-new all-different X-Men to rescue them. On Earth-616, it was Colossus, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Banshee, Sunfire, Storm, and Thunderbird, under the leadership of Cyclops, who led the daring rescue. What if, however, the Professor chose differently? Would they all survive the experience?
This is a really straightforward concept: you guys will take the place of the team I listed above in rescuing the original X-Men from Krakoa, and, depending on game success, there's a solid 40 years of stories since Giant-Sized X-Men #1 for us to potentially run, and we will probably deviate from time to time as well, depending on our cast of characters.
Here's the twist for this: I'm allowing both OC's and canon characters, build them at 30+challenges, must be mutants.
If you want to choose a canon character: I'd prefer someone who would be of age to have the maturity and level of training to be selected for this kind of dangerous mission. Thus, any mutants who would be Kitty Pryde's age or younger is pretty much out unless you have a compelling counterargument. Couple places I'd look for inspiration would be later older recruits (like Psylocke or Dazzler), mutants who had no real link to the X-Men (El Aguila, etc.), or, a villain looking to reform him or herself. Just remember the 30 stone limit.
Quick and dirty list of off-the-top-of-my-head banned mutants: Cyclops and Jean Grey (who I will be GMPCing), Professor X, Magneto, Apocalypse, and Cable. Most others (besides those too young to be part of this generation of mutants) I'm open to at least considering, as long as you made a character who would, generally, be heroic. If you want to play as one of the other original X-Men staying on the team (Beast, Iceman, Angel, or especially Havok and/or Polaris) I'll allow it, but you'll have to go through the trouble of doing two CADs, an original character we can kill off in the first story, and the original X-Man staying on. I'd like to minimize the number of people doing that if at all possible so the rescue doesn't turn into a bloodbath. Be prepared for me to say no.
Original characters: I would prefer international characters, or if a character is American, to keep with the intense diversity of the all-new all-different-era team. That being said, my only real restriction is to look to the X-Men of that era as inspiration, and come up with something bright, fun, and with a lot of personality within the stone count.
Questions/comments/etc.? PM me or post in here and hash out who everyone wants to be! I have six spots. Let's do this!
SenseiSuplex and RidiculousNinja, looking forward to seeing your submissions... Everyone else's too, of course, but they both seemed interested in games, and I promised I would let them know when I was recruiting for a new one.
