Hi everyone! Glad I found this place. I've just dusted off my Marvel Universe RPG book & started re-reading the rules. I playing once, but combat seemed like such a series of diminishing returns that no one wanted to play again. I'm sure it was something we were misinterpreting, but the way it played, if we got into a fight and didn't take out the bad guy in one panel but took any damage at all, we were no longer generating enough red stones to have any further effect. Hopefully going through the data on this board and playing with folks here will help me figure out what we did wrong and take it back to my tabletop players. I know this game got some really good reviews when it was first published, and many people think it's a great system for true comic-book style mayhem.

Welcome back into the fold! I'm sure you'll do great here and find the sorts of help, tips, and lunacy you're looking for.
Just try not to touch anyone here. No-one wants to burn to cinders.

Hahaha, what you guys did wrong was to play without the house rules to fix the vanilla rules (and yeah, they need fixing in various areas XD. But when fixed, it's my favorite game system ever!)
Welcome to the board, and try to have some fun!

Welcome! The MURPG is indeed a good system (when tuned) for playing in a board like this one, since it avoids rolls (specially the games that have opposed ones) and it's less time consuming, but to each their own. That said, you can find several house rules (including the ongoing 2.0 project) here, all across the board you can see the games (and how each of them are played, each GM has his own tweaks) and in here you can see game proposals pop from time to time in case you fancy playing with us.

I do fancy playing with you! Hopefully someone will be starting up a new game or posting an opening in the near future! Can anyone point me in the direction of a house rule around red stone regeneration or explain what I'm doing wrong? Let's say I've got 8 red stones and 3 white for Health. I've also got 8 stones in Force Blast, and I'm going up against Dr. Bahdgye. He looks like a brute, so I want to make sure I'm doing damage. I move 8 stones into my CAD, shift 2 stones to Defense. So I'm attacking with 6. Turns out he has armor and a big Dodge, so I hit, but only do 1 stone of damage. He hits me and does one stone. Now I only regenerate 2 stones for the next panel, right? Aren't I doomed unless I put 1 stone into Defense for a bunch of panels and hope for the best? It seems to me like combat is massively weighted against anything lasting more than 1 or 2 panels due to the fact that I'm regenerating very few (if any once I'm hit) red stones. Do modifiers give me free stones (i.e. if I had Targeting +3 I could allocate 3 red stones and get 3 for free to make 6)? What am I missing?
