Troubled Young Mutant Unaware of his Dark Past
QUOTE: "Some days, I just feel like something's wrong with me. Others... well, I know it for sure. But hey... never stopped me from doing what I can, right?"
Real Name: Christopher "Chris" Blake
Occupation: Student at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, General do-gooder
Weight: 185 lbs
Eye color: Dark Brown
Hair color: Black
Close Combat: 4
(Str.bonus and Wpn.modifier)
-Fighting multiple/larger opponents
Ranged Combat: 3
(Str.bonus and Wpn.modifier)
Mastery of Fire/Earth: 5
-Force Blast (Fire - 2x damage, Sets flammable objects on fire; Earth - Normal damage, 2x damage if target is on the ground, 3x damage if target is in/underground)
-Psychic Nature (Even though the effects of this power are clearly energy/matter base in effect, they are actually a very powerful psionic effect, and as such benefit from/are affected by Mental modifiers/effects.)
-Note: Mastery will go back to full scale of Matter/Energy after Chris has control over at least 10 elements through use of Surge (see modifiers).
Technology/Vehicle operations/Inventing: 4
Genetic Engineering: 5
Medical Healing: 4
General Knowledge: 5
-History & Geography
Social Skills: 5
-Kind and caring
Transform Self, Unlimited - 20 stones
-Chris can alter and transform his body completely into a 20 stones form at the cost of some of his other abilities.
-Upon transforming, Chris still retains his mental/psionic abilities, including: Intelligence, Mastery of Fire/Earth, Technology/Inventing, Medical Healing, General Knowledge, Social Skills, Immortal, Accelerated Healing Factor, Mental Defense and his Immunities. However, he is also unable to increase those traits via transformation, as he can't acquire new knowledge he doesn't already have merely by altering his body.
-Chris is also incapable of acquiring Magical actions through use of this power; all of his possible capabilities may only be physical, energetic, or psychic in nature.
-In times of trouble, emotional distress, fear, or anger (or any strong emotion, in fact), Chris reflexively draws onto a larger pool of power/knowledge of which he has little understanding. At the cost of being shaken for 3 panels after the effect is over (-2 to all actions), he can use one of Apocalypse's Abilities/Actions/Modifiers at its full effect for up to three panels, after which it fades away... yet increasing said A/A/M by one step (CL), either by adding to the AN/MN or adding an advantage/option to it permanently, bringing him one step closer to his former 'glory'... but also at the cost of bringing forth part of his lost memories, which can be very troubling as he doesn't know the truth yet. GM's call as to what he sees.
Accelerated Healing Factor
Energy Battery 2
Deep Reserves +4
Psycho-Centric Power Template +2
Reflexive Dodge +1
-No 2x damage
Energy Defense +3
Mental Defense +5
-To Reality Distortion, Powers being copied or suppressed, Techno-Organic Viruses, Poisons and Diseases
Blood of the First One
-Chris's blood can heal other mutants (healing 3w and diseases and poisons as per Mutant Healing AN 9 with a single injection), but is lethal for humans (acting as an AN 9 poison VS Durability dealing damage each panel until death or healed via mutant/magical healing of an higher AN.
-If his body is 'killed', Chris's soul and mind can travel independently in an incorporeal form.
-Even if destroyed in this form, however, Chris would still come back to life, in an entirely new body - severely weakened, and losing large chunks of memories, for a temporary duration- which is exactly what happened to his former self, Apocalypse.
Wealth: 2 (As far as he knows)
-Mutant (-3; Chris is a mutant, and as such can be detected by machines designed to sense mutants, or affected by devices targeting only mutants.)
-Psychological (-4; amnesia. Christopher has lost most of his memories of the past, having only a limited understanding of them, and being unsure of when he acquired most of his knowledge.)
-Psychological (-2; compassionate. Chris is very empathic, and dislikes when others are suffering or sad.)
-Psychological (-3; troubled. He can't put his finger on why, or what, but Chris often feels like something is 'off', or wrong, with him. Like something is missing, something very important. He thinks it's because of his amnesia, however.)
-Psychological (-1; mild loner. Due to the loss of his memories, his doubts towards himself, and the death of his parents, Chris usually prefers to be alone, although he has gotten better at the whole 'socializing' thing.)
-Loyal (-3; to professor Charles Xavier and the X-Men, who saved his life from the accident that killed his parents, and who sheltered him when he became homeless by offering him a place at Xavier's school.)
-C.T.S.U.F.U (-3; Chris will go out of his way to help people if he has anything to say about it, even though he claims to be no hero.)
-Addiction (-1; mild smoking.
-Outfit: Three-pieces business suit (Chris always dresses in a fairly classy and respectable manner.)
STORY: As far as he nows, Christopher Blake, or Chris to his friends, was the only child of his loving parents, Malcolm and Jennifer Blake. Unfortunately for him, said loving parents perished in a gas-leak caused explosion which essentially destroyed his family home entirely. Chris survived, saved by members of the X-Men who were passing by, but he suffered severe amnesia, either due to his heavy wounds (from which he healed thanks to his healing factor) or the trauma of losing his parents. Professor Charles Xavier took him in as one of his school's students, and he and the X-Men explained most of what he knows of his past: that he's a mutant gifted with superhuman strength, endurance and durability, near bulletproof skin, an accelerated healing factor, the ability to create and manipulate fire and earth to a certain extent, and a very versatile yet rather wea transformation ability. He must have been a prodigy as a student, as he was very advanced in multiple advanced subjects. But the most important part was how he was apparently very kind and brave, as he had apparently sustained his heavy wounds in an attempt to save his parents from the fire.
The truth of course was less pretty. His real parents died over five thousand years ago after abandoning his former self, Sabah an-Nur, in a desert to die, setting in motion the events that would give birth to the tyrant Apocalypse. The conqueror's death at the hands of Earth's mightiest heroes, and his soul's subsequent apparent destruction had brough Chris in existence with a severe loss of memory and power, and all of his new memories and personality were in fact a fabrication from Charles Xavier, for the greater good, even though it pained him to lie to the youth like this. At the very least, he hoped he could make him a better individual, and hopefully avoid the path he had taken before... if not downright leading him to become a hero in due time. For now, however, Chris remained unaware of the truth, and had so far refused to become an X-Man himsef, despite his admiration for the men and women who had 'saved his life'. He claims not to be hero material, and simply pursued his studies, although he did lend a hand in various situations.
But he still felt uneasy, as somehow he feels...'wrong'. Like something's missing, and he can't figure out why. He also doesn't know why he sometimes experiences a surge in power which causes his eyes to glow blue, and his powers to exceed their normal limits. At least, the professor keeps an eye on him, just in case, but he's still worried sometimes.
