I haven't actually seen Apocalypse yet. I keep forgetting it exists.

You're not missing much. It wasn't as horrible as X3... buuuut, it was close IMO. Mind you I really really WANTED to like it. Being a big AoA fan, and having liked the DoFP and previous Wolverine movie I had hoped... but no. Just. No.

So Apocalypse hit Netflix recently, and I just watched it. Yiiiiiiikes, it was awful. I mean there were some neat sequences in it, but overall it was a complete mess. I'd say it might have been worse than X3, but still better than Origins: Wolverine.

Watched Logan last night and it's very good. It doesn't escape some cliches, but it keeps the tone and mood coherent and it works way better than expected.

I'm going Tuesday, so I have to wait too. Avoiding spoilers is the hardest part.

Just saw it, and completely agree with this. It's a very powerful movie, hit me exactly where I live. It's hard to compare to other super hero movies because it basically isn't a super hero movie. But I loved it. EDIT: Yeah, okay, after sleeping on it I can definitely say it's my favourite of all the comic book movies. ~TWF

I thought it was ok, but haven't watched any of the other Wolverine movies and stopped enjoying the X men films a while ago. Whilst the film was pretty good on its own merits I'm thoroughly confused as to where this leaves the franchise with regards what timeline is current and whether they are making more films or not....

The timeline is definitely confusing, yes. I don't think it's meant to be hard canon in either/any of the X-Men cinematic timelines; it's a bit like Deadpool in that it exists wherever it has to in order to get its story to work. Personally I think of it has sharing X-Men, X2, X3, and The Wolverine as backstory, but diverging from that point (ignoring First Class, Days of Future Past, etc).

Saw it. Enjoyed it. Still digesting...
Heard that Herry Sienfeld is indirectly responsible for this being the final installment including Jackman as Wolverine. Damnit Jerry...

I'm really glad it's the last one, actually. He finished on the highest note of his 18-year career as Wolverine, and I can't complain. Seinfeld gave him good advice.

Yeah. It's just that things started SO awful, and finally got to a decent place. I wish we could have had 18 years of THAT. Well. Without the butchered continuities and X-Carry-Over. The last two Wolverine installments were definitely worth it IMO. Honestly-- I REALLY wish they would just figure out that their "artistic" license contually equates butchery of things. These last two Wolverine flicks really seemed likehtye were finally getting the character. Really getting what about the character fans actually liked, and stories reflected the classical roots more than any of their other efforts.
Blah. Rant done. I liked it. And yeah, better to end on a high note and all. But, ugh. Ah well. Here's to the next trainwreck of an X-Men movie!
