Being the front man sounds nice, and that way we avoid having two guitars. The legendary animal theme could be too much on one hand, but could give some flavor to the giant robot side of business on the other, I don't know either. Lead guitar sounds good to me!  Also, if we go for legendary animal, that'd be cool. I know power ranger are often over the top kind I'd go for the leviathan! What I'm thinking is to layer all these things on one another in, indeed, a very over-the-top sort of manner. So, for example, let's say Mephisteel's the Blue Leviathan Spacestar. Her (or his) guitar could look like a sea serpent, but then the neck of the guitar pulls out and it doubles as the hilt for a sword; or perhaps it ends in a laser blaster and doubles as a rifle; or you smash it over people's heads like a club with the body; or something I haven't thought of. (This reminds me, quick aside about gender: Kyuuranger is featuring the first female green ranger in the show's history that hasn't appeared in a spin-off movie; blue and yellow both have been represented by both genders; red rangers tend to be male and pink rangers female, but I could care less about that distinction. Basically, there are precedents in the show, but I could care less if you guys want to play a female Red or a male Pink, for example.) |

Having a tomboyish female lead singer as Red Leader could be interesting, but I don't mind going with the usual male hero persona, depending on the rest of the team. As for the animal I could go for a mythological bird, be it a Phoenix or a Roc, a Dragon or Wyrm are always a fine choice or if we want to get weird we can go the Akkorokamui route (basically a wise but fickle giant octopus).

Hell yeah  I'm thinking either a unicorn or kirin, and my keytar also works as a bow (I flip it over and the back has a bowstring I can pluck that fires lasers?) |
