Haunted Past {S.H.I.E.L.D. surveillance plus manipulations of HYDRA have made his life miserable. He's alive again, but he does not know why nor how.}
Deadly Enemies: S.H.I.E.L.D. {He willingly fought the spy task force over delusions of grandeur...partly due to the Extremis experiments. He murdered a decorated Chinese operative during his struggle. He would like forgiveness for his brief lunacy, but is afraid that the spy agency will not be in a forgiving mood.}
Deadly Enemies: HYDRA {He killed a HYDRA-affiliated doctor and nearly killed the one responsible for manipulating him to the terrorist cell's cause.}
Vengeful {He hates being mistreated and lied to.}
Criminal Record {If S.H.I.E.L.D. ever finds out he's been revived, then he's in major trouble.}
Blames "Society" and Others for His Situation {He feels that the world may look at him as a heartless monster, especially after his stint in Project Centipede.}
Power Dangerous to Self {Excessive power use will overcharge the Extremis coursing through his body, resulting in an explosion.}
Special Vulnerability: Extremis Overdose {If he were to be injected or exposed to large doses of the Extremis serum, then his body may also explode violently.}
Extreme Vanity {He's taken a liking to his superhuman identity, becoming somewhat cocky in the process.}
Glory-Hound {All he's ever wanted to do since day one is to be famous and recognized. That may be difficult now with his criminal record. At least he is willing to turn over a new leaf provided it doesn't get him killed for good.}

Biography
Chan Ho Yin was a street performer in Hong Kong, who inexplicably developed the special gift of pyrokinesis—one of the believed sources is a decommissioned Wan Tai nuclear plant that caught fire close to where he used to live. He was detected and put on a list of powered beings watched over by S.H.I.E.L.D., and grew angered as he was force to keep his powers hidden while he considered those to have been granted to him for a particular reason.
During a street performance, Chan met a girl in a flower dress (a mysterious woman by the name of Raina), whom he invited home, showing her his powers. She seduced him and had him captured by Project Centipede (a HYDRA plot) agents. She successfully encouraged him to go on the way of the public expression of his powers, giving him the name Scorch, and an injection that enhanced his powers, breaking ground into new research that could stabilize the Extremis virus. Once tests were performed on him, a doctor (Dr. Debbie) decided to remove Chan's blood platelets for her research, causing him to be burnt by his powers.
Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a team of trusted agents tracked Chan down to free him, but Chan revolted against them, killing Agent Quan Chen. He then tracked and killed said doctor, before the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were forced to kill him, injecting him with two Extremis doses who made him explode.
Now back to life and no recollection how, he found that his body was actually more powerful than before (due to his cause of death, ironically). Feeling like having a new lease on life, he's set to atone for his mistakes one act at a time...while on the run from both S.H.I.E.L.D. and HYDRA...
