The blackness fades as consciousness returns. In fairness you weren't entirely sure it would return but having it back is quite nice. Of course this leads to the obvious questions of, where are you and what now?
You look around only to find yourself in a room, only something seems to be wrong with your vision as everything is in monochrome. A ceiling etched in various shades of grey is above you. It would seem shabby regardless given the colouring but this seems especially so, signs of mould in the corners are quite clear. Spiders webs covering over these are also hung like decorative bunting from the tattered lamp shades around the room.
You reach your hand up to your head to check for any damage. Only to feel... Skin... Real actual skin both from your hand and from your head. The sensation is strange given how long you have spent in a mechanical body, but the soft spongy feeling of flesh against flesh is unmistakeable.
Sitting up, you look yourself over before looking around. You are dressed in your old uniform, the same as the night you lost your body. Was the last few years just a dream? Is this a dream?
You pinch yourself, it seems to hurt in that dream like way, a memory of pain rather than pain itself. A dream perhaps, but normally dreams feel different, more hazy and distant. The sensations here are sharp and definite, so, not real, but not a dream.
You look around, the room is old, cracked plaster and bare wooden floorboards. The only window is boarded up, securely enough that you cannot seen through the boards.
A few shapes around the room appear to be furniture covered in dust sheets. You are, or at least were, lying on an old tattered sofa.
The lights seem to flicker and the sound of thunder can be heard from outside.
Some how everything seems to have a tense, nervous feel to it until you look at the door to the room. In the centre of the door at about eye level is the only colourful thing in the room. A clearly fake flower in garish reds, yellows and greens with a sign hanging from a string underneath emblazoned with the words;
'SPOOKY, AIN'T IT?'

" What? John who? Whats goin-" everything went to black.. the darkness quickly faded as her eyes flickered open and she looked around the room which was reminiscent of a old horror movie as the thunder crashed in the background. Looking towards the ceiling she noticed the tones of grey which made her think that whatever happened had damaged her optics, grasping her head, she froze. Her finger tips felt.. skin? Actual skin on her head? Actually, she could feel with her own fingers! " W-what in the world..?" she questioned in moderate shock as she continued to feel her head and wondered what was going on. What kind of magic was this? This had to be some kind of illusion, right? No way this was real. She looked down and noticed her clothes were different as well.. the uniform she was wearing the night the accident happened.. the night she lost her body to the assassin who tried to kill Lex Luthor. Her eyes scanned the room and saw the furniture around the room covered in white sheets, a window which was boarded up for some kind of purpose, and towards the front of the room a door. The only colorful things in the room which one couldn't miss in such a monochromatic purgatory, around the colorful arrangement were words which made her raise an eyebrow. 'SPOOKY, AIN'T IT? Jade didn't know what was going on nor did she like any of this.. But she needed to find out what she had at her arsenal and what she could do in this new place. Getting to her feet, she looked towards the covered furniture and looking at them she focused her psionic energy and tried to move the sheets off of them with her mind. Whether it worked or not, the young woman took a breath and closed her eyes as she tried to send out another telepathic link to her partner if he did infact exist, but one could never be sure unless they tried, right? ---------------- WS: 4/4 RS: 2/15 ---------------- Telekinsis: 2; to move the sheets Telepathy (+ Bio-Computing): 7; to send out a telepathic link towards Cerberus is possible.

"What in the world...?"
You stretch out with your telepathy and suddenly music starts, like at the beginning of a musical number at a west end show. There are minds here, within reach, but Cerberus isn't one of them. Also you notice that your technological enhancements to your telepathy aren't there, it's strange, almost as though someone or some thing has separated your mind from everything except the minds you are attached to.
Of course you can see from the lack of movement of the sheets that you aren't in the physical world, this seems like some weird parallel realm created from a few minds linked together. What the rules are here of course you have yet to figure out.

Jade was glad atleast once of her abilties were still working thought she noticed her telekinesis was not effective here, showing that she was still within some kind of mental plain of existance.. at least she hoped. Recalling that Cerberus had contacted a friend from the outside to help her in the situation she was in, Jade didn't know what else to do until she noticed that she could find someone else within this odd place, a voice, someone wondering what was going on but just as she heard the voice, music began to play around her. She looked around in wonder of what was making that music and what this place. Looking back at the door, she knew that she couldn't stay in the area the whole time, she needed to know what was going on beyond this room.. Walking towards the door she grasped the knob, looking at the sign once more, she turned it and opened it to whatever this realm had for her.

You open the door, and somewhere off in the distance is a groan, half whale song, half cry of pain. It's odd but in that instant the corridor in front of you seems to have a little more colour to it before fading back into monochrome.
The corridor, seems to be wood panelled, much as the room behind you, but curves, stretching off out of sight. Every few yards a light in the ceiling adds to the decor, and doors in the walls seem to punctuate the corridor. The first one on the left has a bat symbol on it, much as the citizens of Gotham have come to associate with Batman.

Walking into the weird world she noticed that in a blink of an eye color had appeared in the corridor. She furrowed her brows as she took note of it, but her attention was changed as the whale-like groan echoed around her. It sounded weird... like a groan of.. pain? She wasn't the only one here if her telepathic scouring told her anything. Jade began to walk down the hallway until she noticed the lights that were much like the corridors and stretched on for what seemed like eternity. She sighed as she continued on her journey, noticing a symbol on the wall near her; a bat. She recognized it to be the same as the same symbol that most would conjure with with the caped crusader himself. "Odd.." she said to herself and began to look around for some more symbols around her which may point her in some manner of direction or atleast tell her what this place was. There had to be clue on where she was, right?

As you speak strains of music again start up as if what you said was a musical cue.
You continue on, other doors, other symbols on them. A brain, a fairground, a pie, a roller coaster. The corridor doesn't seem to have an end, or as you look back, a beginning. The door you entered through has mysteriously vanished.
Again you hear the groaning sound and again there is a glimmer of colour to the corridor. But it is all too brief.

Was her eyes deciving her? She clearly seen color at the end of the corridor, even though it was just a glimmer of color but she had to try and find out what that was. Jade continued through the corridor, breaking into a bit of a sprint to catch up with the color she had just seen. Coming to the end of the hallway, Jade looked around and tried to find any signs of the glimmer and looked around for anymore symbols; noting that the ones she had seen previously had been tied to the Joker.

You run, doors passing by on either side. You get the impression of other joker related images on the doors but traveling at speed that is all you pick up. The colour in the corridor was everywhere for those brief moments but faded back to monochrome in an instant. As to the corridor, there appears to be no end, just walls, doors floor and ceiling stretching on out of sight.

Jade continues her trek through the corridors and in trying to find something to this place other than what she has seen so far. She can deduce that this place has some ties to gotham though she didn't know how... what kind of astral prison or realm did she land herself in or rather did her friends land her in? She stopped for a moment and faced a wall closest to her. Jade inspected it and placed her hand upon it. Closing her eyes, she tried to create a link with this place and see if she was in deed within a psionic prison or perhaps the mind of someone else? She needed to know what she was dealing with as aimlessly wandering wasnt helping her cause. ---------- WS: 4/4 RS: 8/12 ----------- Telepath 4; to create a link with the area in order to discern its origins and if she could find clues of where she was.

You stop, running forward endlessly seems pointless. Interestingly however you don't seem tired. Of course in your cybernetic body you wouldn't get tired but this is appears to be a normal body you could have expected something different.
You reach out telepathically and the response is immediate. A television set drops on a frame from the ceiling and a grinning face can be seen. The Joker, every cop in Gotham knows that face and whilst you've never met him, his reputation precedes him.
The face looks directly at you and speaks
"Well it's about time, I was beginning to think you were just figment of *my* imagination." He says laughing an insane maniacal laugh before continuing.
"So since your new to the place, let me be the first to say welcome to Jokesville, population: You!" He laughs again, it's not a comforting sound. "As our newest resident you have access to all the amenities, you know, psychosis, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder and I'm sure after a few days you'll fit right in. In the mean time though let me explain the rules. You're welcome to go wherever you'd like. But any communication will have to be through the medium of song. So to kick you off let me start by saying..."
The tune to Sinatra's New York New York starts playing and you get a wide angle on Joker. He's on a stage with a microphone old blue eyes style.
"Start spreading the news, you're going insane, you're gonna be a part of it, Jokesville, Jokesville.
"Those flatfoot shoes, won't take you away, you're right in the heart of it, Jokesville, Jokesville."
"You're gonna wake up with a smile that never quits, to find you're murdering puppies just for the kicks..."
At this point you feel a buzz in your pocket.
You reach in to find two things, firstly a mobile phone and secondly a note that says 'Trying to get you out. Play along. J.C.'
(OOC: From this point on anything you say must be in song form.)

Jade was taken aback by this show going on before her but that was the least of her problems as she was face to face with one of Gotham's notorious criminals, The Joker. As she listened to what he had to say and how she was in a place known as Jokesville, the young woman began to curse her partner for placing her into the mind of the Joker, or so she would assume for the time being. Only way to speak is in singing form? What kind of mental hell is this? she thought before looking at the Joker, whom has begun singing to her. The tempo of the music playing began to shift as it began to sound like "The Edge of Seventeen" by Stevie Nicks
"What am I doing here? Did they throw me into your mind? Huh, Joker, huh, ah huh.. I'm tired of playing game, I just wanna get out of here so I don't have to beat you up. Seems like days go by just standing here waiting for reinforcements "
Jade stopped as she realized she had begun to sing in the manner Joker had described that she would have to in order to speak. The rules within the mental realm were always something that could be bent and changed and for now it was making Jade angry. She was gonna have some words for her partner once she got out of here... A buzz caught her attention as it was beginning to vibrate in her pocket. Strange, what was a phone doing in the mental realm...? Was she really gonna question it? Especially here of all places... Pulling out the device from her pocket, Jade read the message and the initials which ended. J.C.? Who is that? she wondered as she placed that away back into her pocket. For now she would follow the advice given to her and play along, thought if she was going to keep her sanity was another question all together.

(Ooc – Loving it)
Colour floods the corridor as you sing and there is a strange sensation as of something in pain. Whatever you are doing here is hurting something. The more it suffers the more colour you see.
“Those sane brain blues, are melting away.” “Don’t make a brand new start of it, in old Jokesville.” “If you can make it there, you’ll murder anywhere!” “So here’s to you Jokesville, Jokesville!”
The music fades to the sound of his insane laughter and the TV screen goes blank. From the tension in the air you get the impression of an orchestra waiting for you. It’s as though the opening number has just finished and the first solo is about to start.
Of course it’s up to you if you want to join in. You can stay in the corridor or go into any of the rooms.

Jade watched as things changed as if she had just became part of some psychotic version of Hamilton or something. It felt as if the scene was just for her, she was the protagonist in this part of the show and everything was riding on her to continue to movement of the storyline. The only way out of this world was to play along according to this J.C person so she was going to have to do just that and play along... Taking a deep breath; the scene went black as a spotlight hit Jade, her stride starting slow as she began to follow in the steps of the Joker. " Remembering the words you told me, play along if I want to get out alive.. Following the Joker, deeper into this chaos I must dive..
Jade's steps began to speed up as it began to turn into a face pace strut which went with the beat of the tempo. Spinning, back against the wall, sliding down and thumping her heel against the ground. " Yeah, I think I may be going insane, need to get out of this brain. This clown will find out I'm not the one to tame, not the one to tame, baby, I'm going to beat him at his own game, at his own game, honey." Continuing her strut down the hallway, following after the Joker, hand caressing the wall as she walked down her path; colors following the trail of her hand as if she was in a music video. " My Mind. Think you can take it? Think you can take it, well you crossed the line. I'm stronger than meets the eye, But yeah you can try, you can try as much as you like,"

Colour flickers like reality displayed through an old malfunctioning TV set then stabilises in the tiny spot lit area around you and spreads gloriously as the lights come up. The deep brown of the doorways, the vibrant burgundy of the carpet. The pale cream of the wall paper. Everything is displayed in radiant technicolor. Everything including the doorway in front of you at what you assume is the corridor’s end.
Flashing light bulbs outline it if it is the doorway to a theatre star’s dressing room and the sign on the door way reads: GRANDE FINALE.
Presumably this is the Joker’s idea of a final showdown, you know the rules now though and somehow feel empowered in a way you didn’t before. You are ready.
