Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing well.
I've always been fascinated with the game Gotham City Imposters since it came out, but thought that the game had loads of missed potential because there was no storyline mode. So, I started thinking the idea is almost tailor made to be a Rockstar game.
Over the past several years I've moved twice lost my rp books, changed careers, and still trying learn a new system (D6) that I think people interested people could easily have access to for free, and would fit this kind of campaign.
However, while I'm researching this system, I would like to do some role-playing with the concept, and shoot some ideas off of with like minded fans.
Setting, Gotham City where the streets are explosive with crime. Several individuals inspired by Batman, and his Bat Family have emerged to help with the fight against crime while encountering other gangs, villains, and even members of The Bat Family along the way.
Keep in mind, this does not take place on Earth 1, it's Earth 1 ish though. As I go, I'll probably read more comics and try to work those into the role play, and work with players and their backgrounds.
I would prefer the players to be member of The Imposters gang, but if you have some ideas I'm open to discussion.
Right now I just have a general idea of the campaign setting and would appreciate feedback

Honestly never played the game and tried researching it but didn't get anywhere.
The concept isn't bad. Certainly hinted at in the film 'The Dark Knight', I'd be interested in hearing more about what you have in mind, and more about the setting.

The setting is in Gotham City, and in it's own timeline. That way the players can experience events in the campaign like Knightfall, turf wars between rival Gotham Gangs, Characters like The Joker showing up and taking over rival gangs. There would also be run ins with the GCPD, The Red Hood Gang, and so on.
I've even thought about doing Crossovers with the TMNT, just because I love that cross over, and maybe even throwing The Kingpin into the mix at some point, because he fits the Genre.
Of Course, the players would be fighting other gangs in the turf wars. I will probably borrow ideas from Saints Row for other gangs.
The would also have to endure encounters with the likes of The Red Hood, Jason Todd, and other members of The Bat Family.

And what would you have in mind for characters? How many points? What restrictions?

As far as the player characters go I'm going to say Normal Human types. Eventually I want to use the Open D6 system, because it's online, and free to use so players can have easy access to it. I would use the MURPG system, but I have moved at least twice since I GM'd a game here. So,O have no idea where my books are for that system. Open D6 has plenty of Modern information and is free to download though. Until I get the system figured out I wouldn't mind running the game as a Freeform game though to get a better feel for the setting and story ogc.rpglibrary.org/index.php?title=OpenD6The Imposters is simply a group of people who dress like Batman and fight Crime. It's inspired by the group of imposters om The Dark Knight Returns, and the Video Game Gotham City Imposters. I used to play that game. It's an online shoot'em Up, but there is no story mode. The fact that there is no story more is what made me want to use this concept as the setting for the game gothamcityimposters.wikia.com/wiki/Gotham_city_impostors_Wiki

Yea, that was the stuff I did manage to find. Honestly I'm not a fan of using other systems and I'm not sure how much fun a human only game would be. An time I've tried it it just hasn't worked for one reason or another. Don't get me wrong I'm pretty sure other GM's have made it work, maybe it's just not my thing.
I hope it works out for you though.
