First it was the emptying feeling. Mildred had only experienced something similar once, the last day she draw breath, the last day she counted herself among the living. Not only it was a horrible feeling, but also one that risked making her nostalgic, aching for a familiar pain just because it was known, it was comfortable. Madeline slipped back into her thoughts once more, invasive, for the second time in the last twenty four hours. Mildred just pushed the thoughts of her away like a forlorn lover, not wanting to even give that to an idea of her.
Second it was the arrival, darkness easily ignored by Mildred's predatory nature and her supernatural gifts. Turning to face the house was what made her hiss, unsteady and unwelcome. She didn't need anyone to invite her into a house to enter, but if she had ever seen an uninviting dwelling it was that one. Mildred patted her jacket, finding comfort on the presence of the Captain's gift there, even if she tried to remain calm for now. There was a beauty to that golden light, one that she haven't seen in oh so long, but it had the dangerous allure of a toxic relationship, as Mildred knew well enough that getting much closer to that would hurt.
"So we are at his house" Mildred said, a hint nervous but still hiding her inner turmoil decently. "But is his house still in Gotham?" she added, looking around at the darkness, piercing it with her gleaming eyes, finding comfort in averting them from the light. "Because something quite weird happened here. Besides us, I mean" she sighed.

All over the world I think that particular book was bought by my grandmother, you know that case GCPD has not had any progress on in 13 years, and yes do please continue it told us what might be used to fight them but maybe there is a spell to send them back somewhere. Quick question do you remember why you are here? Because I don't and there is something affecting my magic.
Christopher continues to work his spell trying to find the source of what is draining his magic and move away from it
3 into continuing the sunlight spell. trying to slowly move them away so he can continue to protect them.

"Well love, this is all above my head and I have no idea what I'm doing. I'll be near to useless I imagine... " It was obvious he was unsure about this magic bit, "But, if you need someone to hold onto I'll follow you through and keep you safe."

Cerberus
After the little transportation, they found themselves in front of Christopher's house. The young fae lift his head toward the mansion.
-Sure beat my appartment...-
He says slowly as he take the scenery in. There was something going on here. He wasn't an expert on magic, his expertise lied elsewhere, but still. There was something in the air that felt...dangerous. Once he could close in, he would do a search of the mansion's memories, see what he could find.

Mildred, Cerberus & Jon
Jon waits to see what his companions do, the darkness isn't necessarily a problem, his powers have given him enough of an edge to use senses other than sight, but not knowing how to interpret what he might sense he waits.
Mildred gazes out into the darkened grounds and notices, something. Things flitter across the earth as is shadows have come to life. They are barely there, far beyond the reach of mortal sight and almost imperceptible even to you. But something is out there.
There is also, something else, something your gut is telling you. There is something off about this, something you aren't seeing though you can't put your finger on what.
Then you remember, back when you had just turned Madeline took you to a party at a mortals house, only it was no normal mortal, his name was Dimitrij and he was a Mage, a summoner in fact. As a party trick, trying pathetically to impress Madeline (men always seemed to want to impress Madeline) he had summoned something. It was like darkness incarnate, a thing you could not see when it was in shadow but something that clearly had teeth and claws. He called it a Shadow Demon and it hasn't been amused at being summoned. Fire and sunlight were it's main vulnerabilities though it could be hurt normally if you could catch it. You heard a few days later that his body had been found torn to pieces, Madeline had found the news hilarious.
Cerberus puts his hand on the estate wall...
(OOC - No one has said they are entering the estate grounds so unless you say otherwise I'm assuming that is all you have access to)
... There are gardeners, and the occasional passer by but this appears to be a lonely place. It has been years since anyone was really here, the occupants of the house have no reason to come out here so the only one to be familiar with the wall is the gardener. An old man named Thomas who treats the place with the sort of care you expect from someone who remembers what is used to be.
Christopher
Knowing now that the things outside fear day light you concentrate on your spell. The drain you can feel is, different, odd, like someone is draining your sense of home.
Someone is draining the hearth magic protections John Constantine put up, only, demons can't do that, or at least not unless they are horribly strong and if they were that strong they'd just break through straight away and start killing.
"Now you ask, no I have no clue what the hell is going oon which makes me think someone is screwing around." Says McPhierson looking annoyed.
This is clearly not her first experience of the supernatural.
"Ok, so, I'll skim, yada yada yada, guy talking about how some asshole summoned these creatures, and sent them off to do his evil bidding. Don't know what this says, guessing it's in Latin. Weird symbols and diagrams. Something about where these things come from. Oh, this is interesting, apparently killing them will send them back, but if you have a... Portal open?... That just gets rid of them until they can come back. More weird symbol and diagrams about this portal thing. Oh, interesting point number two, kill the summoner and they go free."

"Shadow demons?" Mildred groaned in disbelief when she managed to retrieve some maybe useful information out of her walk through memory lane. "It had to be damned shadow demons, of course" she sighed. "If I'm right whatever is lurking in the darkness is weak to fire and sunlight, both things don't agree with me much, specially the sunlight" she confirmed. "So if you can wield them, do so away from me" she said.
Now how could she manage to reach a place seemingly full of sunlight she didn't want to go to without getting shred into ribbons by demons that shared a weakness with her? Hard to know, as those things probably wouldn't be sensitive to any mind influence nor had blood to feed from, so the risk of ending torn apart like an amateur wizard smitten by an egotistical vampire were all too real. Then again, the thrill of it was the exact opposite of the boredom that threatened her life, so at least it was something to perhaps enjoy. She was still the most resilient one of the bunch by far, or so she thought, so it was in her hand to do something and to do it fast.
"Do your weird thing you were hired for, partners" Mildred said, as she wasn't specially aware of what they could do. "I'm gonna tussle with the shadows" she said, a wry smile on her face as she stepped into the dark, ready to tango.

With his sunlight spell now active for a while longer Christopher starts to move them faster trying to locate whatever is draining at the spell Constantine put on the house.... Why was Constantine there again? Another question to answer.... On the way he stops by the china cabinate and arms them all with a few pure silver knives each.... Funny how the rich seem to like implaments which are also used in the arcane he muses. He opens his magical site to view the area around him realizing that the remnants of the summoning spell very well may point out the location of the shadow demons or even the summoner.

Cerberus
-Can't tell much from here...fire you say?-
He says, after readng the memories, there was a lot more he could learn from further inside, but right now, he didn't have much info. If fire could keep these shadow demon at bay, he wonder how they would like his fae fire.
Lifting a hand in the air, he snapped his fingers as small orb of fire started floating around him like will O wisp, hopefully, that could help a bit, while being careful of not staying too close to Mildred, who seems to not like it either.
---------------------------- 3 in fae magic, fire, to create willOwisp around me to protect me from whatever darkness there is around.

Christopher
There is magic outside and lots of it, but nothing that would indicate a source. If you were a betting man you'd bet that whoever or whatever is attacking you planned this to avoid exactly that.
Your deductions however are rudely interrupted by two things, first you feel the hearth magic protections give way and second by the sudden appearance of a man in your living room.
Jon
You open your senses before you jump to the sensations of the night. There are what might almost be described as slithering sounds from something fast moving and unnatural. Lots of them, you'd guess that these Shadow Demons are making that noise. More interestingly however you hear chanting, in what you'd guess was Latin, from over by the house. You definitely can't see anything there but pinpointing them isn't that tough, if everyone is talking magic and demons and mystic hoodoo, you'd guess invisibility.
Listening closer you can hear three voices, each chanting something different. They're trying to be quiet, they really are, they've just not accounted for you.
The living room is the easiest and most obvious place to go, there are people there, cops for sure so that's where your allies are. Lt. McPhierson is definitely there, you remember her from the old days.
So, you teleport. The bad guys are through the window behind you, maybe twenty yards away. In front of you are two startled looking cops, Lt. McPhierson, Detective Bradley, and some old guy in a butlers uniform.
Go figure.
Mildred & Cerberus
Mildred moves ahead at pace, finding a Shadow Demon in the dark is like finding a needle in a haystack, you only know it's there when you feel the pain.
Something fast and basically invisible moves past her and a wound opens up on her side (-1w). It would be enough to kill or cripple a mortal. Unfortunately for them...
The other unfortunate fact is that whilst they are relying on speed and invisibility, they aren't completely invisible to her. Her blow lands with a satisfying crunch and then the creature seems to fade away into nothingness.
Then Mildred to is gone, at least in some variety of mist form putting her beyond retribution.
Cerberus fares similarly as a swarm of wisps surround him circling him like some fairy cyclone. The demons, perhaps unsure of what to make of it don't approach.
Both of you are now half way up the drive.

“Hey there beautiful.” He says with a wink then turns towards the other guy he assumed to be the owner of the place. “So do you normally have invisible chanting men and shadow demons outside your home or should I take care of that for you? I’ll be honest I’m not quite sure what’s friendly or not at the moment so I’m just checking to make sure you don’t have friends out there.”
He waits for some information but his guess was that the invisible guys were the bad guys but since this wasn’t his thing he had to be sure.

The demons sure danced a mean tango, ageless flesh and masculine suit ripped from Mildred as she winced yet smacked one of them into nothingness. "Ungh-" she grunted, as it had been a while that she had felt pain that wasn't on her mind and soul, this one was dangerous as well yet terribly mundane. Cerberus seemed to be doing better, flashy fairy tricks keeping him safe, but as the demons probably felt, Mildred didn't want that fire anywhere near her.
"At least it's not my favorite outfit" Mildred mocked once she was back into a physical form, holding her bleeding waist. John was once again nowhere to be found, so the vampire at least hoped that the lecherous man would find himself of use wherever he was. The tear on her side could be easily fixed, as long as one of them indulged to share a bite that is, something that made Mildred shiver. How long had it been? How long since she had tasted warm blood from a live recipient? Her mind wandered for a moment, wondering if Cerberus' blood would be as intoxicating as the legends said, or if John's would be as sweet and cloying as his manners. What about Christopher? Would it be a regal taste of a good lineage?
Shaking her head away from crimson dreams, Mildred was still halfway through the way, and she didn't even know if she would be safe in that house with the biting light. It sure beat staying in the middle of nowhere surrounded by shadow demons for sure. She couldn't afford much fighting, not in her state and against such a foe, so once more she took the practical avenue of turning into mist once more.
Health: 3/4 ; Energy: 6/12 Action: Mist Form 1, buying time/floating towards the house. Health: 3/4 ; Energy: 5/12

Christopher is halfway to redirecting his magic towards the shadowy figure that teleports in front of him when he recognizes the voice.
As far as I was aware of today I am the only practitioner who still resides here and have invited no others though it would seem many are coming uninvited, I was trying to deduce exactly what you just. Please lead the way. Oh, would you like a knife? Silver can hurt the shadow creatures.
Christopher pulls out his gun ready to attack the mages in multiple ways on multiple fronts.

Cerberus
Making his way up the alley, and finding himself alone in the dark this time, surrounded by shadowy figures, he make his best to protect himself and hopefully, the small will o wisp will be enough to cast them away from him. So far, it seemed to work and so he keep his mimic while walking to the front door, hoping that this time, he could feel something useful. And old house like this surely had a lot to tell.
-Mildred? -
He call out in the dark, hoping that the only other left around wasn't gone for good.
------------------------------------------- 3 in fae magic, shifted to defense to keep the will o wisp around. readying a 5 in psychometry for when I get to the house.
