Silly the Empire will pay for improvements to imperial ships especially if they are to serve the dark lord.

Okay... How fast is my ship btw? Does anyone else have a ship, or do I need to transport everyone with me? If we're working from the wiki and you've not upgraded it should have a 2.0 Lightspeed hyper drive (same speed as an imperial class star destroyer) . Only it looks like you upgraded something so I don't know. Hyper drive is the first thing I'd upgrade. But then that's just me. Actually, no sublight engines would be first to try and make them faster than a TIE fighter... Then hyper drive.

Just a thought, but might it be an idea to have a system where by you can buy ships with money in game or at the start, you can buy them with stones for the basic ship plus a set number of upgrade points and buy the upgrade package for an increased number of upgrade points?
Make the first lot of upgrades restricted to legal upgrades, the second lot open.

Seems a bit arbitrary. The stones to purchase wealth allows you the ability to purchase the ships you'd also have to question then the stone value of a tank vs a tie fighter.

Yea, I'm trying to think of a point to spending stones on ships when theoretically you could just buy ship and equipment at the start and if you have the skill to do the upgrades you could just say, I did the upgrades, or indeed, I paid someone to do the upgrades
Wealth has to have a value as do stones. Stones 'could' represent time and money spent. So the time and money spent on getting the upgrades and the vehicle and getting them installed, vs wealth which is just money irrespective of ability to purchase and install. So standard off the line stuff would be available. Military, upgraded and restricted stuff would not.

In all honesty, I don't see a reason, or a need, for adding rules for this. Upgrades can already be made and started with using the established rules, there is no need to add more that does the same to it. There's no need for a new Modifier for people who cannot die when you can just use Instant Reconstitute Self and change the flavor around it, same goes here. No need to create a new rule to fit the flavor; instead try and change the flavor to fit the rules.
As a general rule, I highly dislike assigning costs in stones to stuff that should be readily available under the right circumstances, and is being mass-produced somewhere. The Starship Access modifier is an exception because I wanted to make it easier for starting characters to get a starship regardless of wealth, but it's not meant to be a completely different method of acquiring them or upgrading them as opposed to just being a nice addition to the base method. Equipment, vehicles, weapons and armors should be a matter of wealth and resources, not character stones. Alternatives do exist, such as acquiring them via roleplaying, and there are exceptions, such as powerful artifacts and unique vessels. But in general, I don't want it to have anything to do with stones outside of the Starship Access modifier.

Note to self, read the rules before opening mouth. Next time will someone just smack me upside the head?

Note to self, read the rules before opening mouth. Next time will someone just smack me upside the head? Won't be me. I'm barely paying attention to this game as it is, much less my fellow players. (No offense everyone. I'm not saying this is a bad game, or that I hate it. I'm just not as invested in this yet as I am in my own projects.)

If you need a poke whenever your attention is needed I'll be happy to provide. Also, you have me curious about these projects of yours. I notice you posting lots of Anime threads...

What can I say. I'm a weeb. I think anime and manga offer very interesting character concepts and powers equal or even greater than western comics.
It helps that in Manah I have someone on this forum who basically enables my obsession by constantly writing up characters, and powers from various settings.
As for projects... Mostly just focusing on Omniversal Adventures.

Anime has gotten me through some very tough times so I have a great deal of fondness for it. If you ever want to run a multiplayer thing (and I can appreciate you may not as one to one games are amazing) please let me know.

Update coming tomorrow, and will recruit at least one new player. Janus is leaving this game in favor of RL work and education, so godspeed to ya.

I just realized I never answered Hoots Rowlet's question about how fast his ship was. The Belsiac Shadow has a max flying speed of 466 mph, which is a little over 60% of the Speed of Sound. As for lightspeed traveling, it has a class 2.0 Hyperdrive as Janus suggested before (its modifications are both combat-related, namely a stronger hull and better weapons), with a class 15 as a backup in case the main one failed. Class 2.0 Hyperdrive allows for speeds of 260.42 light years per hour, whereas the backup is good for 34.72 light years an hour. It would take about 19 days for the Belsiac's Shadow to go from one edge of the galaxy to the other with its main hyperdrive. It's about what is to be expected from a civilian starship, and capital military starships.
