Setting is some kind of post-apocalypse/fallen civilization near future.

I'm leaning towards something similar to Age of Apocalypse and the X-Men but it's not set in stone. Also considering a No Man's Land Gotham. Open to suggestions.

AoA was by and far one of my favorite Marvel lines ever. Yes please.

A small group of independent survivors enduring Apocalypse's regime, potentially joining up with other similarly situated folks trying to piece back together normal society and ultimately overthrow Apocalypse. Preference for original characters - adolescent mutants manifesting powers for the first time, though not a strict requirement.
Not sure of the general power level I want yet. Leaning towards a 30-35ish count, but I'm not 100% sure of that. Basically the only hard limits currently are against reality warpers, or time travelers. Magic in my games is an element like any other, 1 stone of X is the same as 1 stone of Y, but situational modifiers may apply, and normal energy rules will apply. Let me know what you're thinking. That ought to give me some sense of what kinds of stone count I want.

Cool.
My idea is for an original mutant with a personal force-field like those employed by characters such as Unus or Armor.

Mutant with the ability to possess those he touches.

Mutant with the ability to possess those he touches. Like Jericho?

Just a note: If we do the Age of Apocalypse, I will be playing up the survival aspect. Characters will need certain basic skills like food procurement, element endurance (extreme heat, cold, etc.), medicine, basic engineering/electronics skills (they don't all need to, but a mix and match would be great), balanced against not having like the world's best surgeon on the team. If that makes sense?
