Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters stands empty and abandoned, it's dream of peaceful coexistence between mankind and mutants as seemingly forgotten as the school itself. Magneto is gone too, his Brotherhood scattered, but their violent actions have helped foster a world that hates and fears their fellow mutants. Governments across the world have been pressured by a fearful populace to take a final stand against the ever-growing "mutant menace". But the mutants have been rallying to arms, not willing to be rounded up into prison camps or become easy prey for the robotic Sentinels and other military tools weaponized against them. An inevitable conflict seems to be on the horizon, a war between humans and mutants that perhaps neither species would survive. Exhausting all other options of stemming the growing tide of violence and hatred, the newly appointed Office of National Emergency enacts a new strategy: enlisting mutants to police mutants. Whether former students of Professor Xavier's school looking for a new chance to carry on Xavier's dream, or dedicated followers of Magneto willing to take a plea deal in exchange for avoiding a prison sentence for their terrorist actions, those recruited into the O*N*E*'s new initiative will become the public face of mutantkind - for better or worse. They will be a new factor in the mix; an X-Factor. But will that be enough? **** I'd like to start a game featuring a version of X-Factor - a team of mutants working on behalf of the government to deal with anti-mutant hatred and violent mutant terrorism alike. This would be a sequel of sorts to an older game I used to run called X-Men vs Brotherhood, but please don't worry at all if you aren't familiar with that game; the important thing to take from it would be that this is a setting where mutants are the only superpowered individuals (so no Avengers, no Spider-Man, etc; just mutants, primarily the X-Men and Brotherhood) - if you've seen any of the X-Men movie franchise, you'll be on the right lines. If anyone's interested in playing, I'd be looking for 40 stone characters (with up to 10 more from challenges so a maximum of 50 stones in total); you will need to take Mutant as one of your challenges. All of you will be working for the Office of National Emergency but you can have been recruited from any walk of life, really: an existing government or military type; a former student of Charles Xavier's school; a Brotherhood loyalist working as part of a plea bargain; or anything else you can think of. If you'd like to play or need to know anything else, just let me know!

Since it's sort of a sequel, can we try with redesigned adult versions of our old XvB characters? Doesn't mean that I'm going that way, still haven't thought of it, but wanted to know if we have the chance.

So much yes! Any cannon mutants off limits? I'd prefer original characters but if there's an existing mutant you really want to use, it shouldn't be a problem.

If you wanted to revamp a character from the old game, that would be a great idea. It would probably be about a 5 year age difference if you wanted to go that route.

I have two very different ideas how The Ant would have fared in the wake of all this, and I'd probably have to pitch both to Andrew. Plus, while I was thinking about these two possibilities, I started coming up with a third separate concept...
So, in short, very interested.

Sounds like a fun setting. Long time, no see Andrew! Glad to see you picking up a campaign to GM.
I have an idea for a Raging Warrior with psychic weapon and some regeneration maybe? LOL.
