We have a cast for what they say is a "Full Jack Kirby" movie. Game of Thrones' Richard Madden will play Ikaris, with Ma Dong-Sek (also known as Don Lee) cast as Gilgamesh. Several other actors were also confirmed, but without stating their roles. Those are Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, and Lia McHugh.

Wow, that's a crazy cast. I watch a lot of Korean TV and movies, and I can confirm that Ma Dong Seok is a bigtime star in Korea, and a pretty big get for them and the international boxoffice. I think people here know him best for his role in Sense8, though I haven't actually seen it myself.
I have no idea what to make of this movie, but the phrase "Full Jack Kirby" excites me.

Kit Harrington has been cast as the Black Knight. Or at least his civilian identity.
"You know nothing, Dane Whitman."

We got a teaser and... it's a teaser. I mean, it lasts quite a while, but it doesn't say as much as I'd want to about what kind of movie we are facing. So far it looks like "so we kinda helped but not quite, because rules, but now that [mysterious evil] approaches we are going to fight" and that isn't very inspiring, so I hope they have more under their sleeve.

Barf. There are some credible spoilers floating around on the internet if anyone wants to look hard enough for them that could reveal what this is about (because I honestly had no clue before reading them). I won't say much but if they're for real, it makes me wonder why they even bothered making this film.
On a related tangent, I think the cash cow might finally be dying, because I just can't see Marvel/Disney sustaining the sheer amount of releases they have with a growing cast of "Who even is that?" and "Why should I care?" plots.

Hunh. Yeah, that's kinda disappointing. The costumes look so dated, the music didn't really work for me (I love Skeeter Davis, but I don't entirely get how the song fits in with the plot?), and they completely failed to sell me on the characters. Everyone seems so wooden and bland, just standing around or posing.
I'm still under the impression that this movie is intended to do a lot of world-building for phases 4 and 5 of the MCU, so maybe it's struggling under that weight. On the other hand, it's closest comparison is the first Guardians of the Galaxy, which also featured relatively unknown characters who helped set the cosmic stage for all future MCU films, and that was a smash hit with some very entertaining and promising trailers.
We'll see, but for now it's a bit yikes.

Final trailer for Eternals:
I'm 100% seeing this movie so I'm skipping this trailer. It's due out November 5th, which is in about 11 weeks. Still kinda worried about this one being bad, so I'm interested to see what you guys think of this trailer.

That trailer actually has convinced me to give this flick a try, whereas I was previously very much on the fence.

Still kinda worried about this one being bad, so I'm interested to see what you guys think of this trailer. It makes the movie feel more complete, more specific. I'm sure it still hides some surprises, but now at least there is a more definite mood and purpose. We'll see.

Went to watch this last night and it turns out that it's more than a decent movie. Sure, it struggles here and there, but I much appreciated that it takes its time with the characters despite the big cast. It could have been cleaner and tighter, but it's way better than expected given some reviews.

That's what I've heard from a lot of people: That it's much better than the reviews, especially if you're a comic book fan to begin with.
I still don't feel safe at the theater where I live, and I'm not that enthusiastic about this movie in particular (I'm not wild on the cast, and the trailers didn't do it for me), so I'm going to skip this one for now, but I will of course see it eventually. Paradoxically, the low reviews are making me curious.

It was decent, but decidedly slow for a Marvel movie (which is especially noticeable with the runtime). Lots of exposition. Intentional, and I understand why… but it still felt heavy handed. As was said, it would have benefitted from some tightening up.
Overall, I think I liked it. Casting was well done. The FX on powers/abilities felt a little toe-stompy on Doctor Strange… and Ikarus was blatant Snyderverse-Superman/TheBoys rip off. Gilgamesh was badass. Thena was less annoying than I expected her to be. Solid choices all around. Phastos and Kingo were a lot of fun. Druig… Likely the weakest of the implementations. Not overly familiar with source material on him though. Ajak… meh. Makkari— FANTASTIC, not nearly enough attention for her character.
IMO though… the best parts were Kit Harrington as Dane… and he was merely a side character, stage setting for later. Definitely not the fan-service role I was worried they’d toss him as.

Eternals just came out on DVD, so I finally got to see it.
It's the worst MCU film, IMO. Easily worse than Thor: The Dark World and The Incredible Hulk, though I often forget or don't consider the latter to be a part of the MCU. Wooden acting, bland characters, Power Rangers costumes, a wasted cast, abysmal editing, and just a dog's breakfast of a screenplay. Would feel right at home in the DCEU, though.
The real shame is that it probably would have made an excellent Disney+ series, since the concept is kinda neat, and the characters just needed way, way more time to breathe.
I am probably going to forget this movie exists in about 5 minutes.
