Professor Moriarty
"Thanks for the warm welcome", she said simply, nodding.
The redhead smiled upon being warned, following him without hesitation. "I am very confident in my capabilities, Doctor. I will do my best not to disappoint you." 1 in Speed to keep up the pace.

Professor Moriarty
The professor did her very best to carefully and efficiently learn everything Doctor Doom was teaching her. 9 in Intelligence, and 3 in Agility, to do my very best to learn, and perform appropriate and necessary gestures to learn what Doom is teaching me.

2 weeks later you have advanced significantly in your studies despite not being allowed to leave the Castle grounds. Every time you entertain the idea Doom quickly shoots it down, and any attempt to sneak out is quickly intercepted by security robots.

(OOC: Spent white stones and LoEs to give Moriarty magical actions at ANs 3-5. I want her to be good - mostly due to her Intelligence - but not too fantastic too quickly either. I also put 'Requires Hand gestures' and 'Requires Vocal components' limitations on all magical actions except Mesmerism, so she's not experienced enough to cast spells if she's immobilized or kept from talking, or both, lol.)
Professor Moriarty
Helena Moriarty was half-ecstatic, half-irritated.
Half-ecstatic, because as it turned out, magic was an astonishingly extensive field of study, with many branches, options, varieties, countless possibilities and fantastic potential. She had to admit... while she was very much a fan of using her formidable intellect before anything to get her way, the incredible possibilities that came with magic were simply fascinating. To think that a 'mere' human - even one as incredibly intelligent as herself - could become capable of such power was simply exhilirating. She enjoyed it thoroughly. Manipulating the elements with one's will, moving objects around with her will, projecting her thoughts, manifesting illusions, bringing forth entities to do her bidding, healing wounds magically, walking through walls... Doom had been a fantastic teacher, and Moriarty was a very eager and talented student.
Half-irritated, because Doom, despite effectively and thoroughly teaching her extensively in the arts of the Arcane, was also essentially treating her like a prisoner. The Doctor was apparently adamant in his desire to keep her from leaving, having apparently made it an important priority for his robots to keep her from exitting the castle grounds, and refusing to let her discuss her desire to leave. And she did intend to... at this point, Moriarty was knowledgeable enough in the occult to learn and experiment on her own from now on. Doom had taught her very well, but she could progress on her own now. She had no need to stay longer, but the Latverian ruler wouldn't have it.
However, the professor wouldn't accept that. She went to find him, this time very much decided in having her way. 5 in Intelligence to locate Doom and have a talk with him.

You locate Doom in one of his Castle's many labs working on some sort of device. Disturbing him now might be a bad time. You saw what happened to human or even the occasional robot who interrupted Doom when he was working.

Professor Moriarty
"......"
The redhead paused, staring at him silently. As much as she hated to admit it, even she was not powerful enough to just step in and interrupt the Doctor in the middle of his work. From what she had seen, his armor made him just as superhuman as some superpowered beings out there, and his magic skills were still considerably superior to hers, so if he wanted to punish her, he very well could.
Sighing, she decided that now was perhaps not the best time for her complaints, and decided to take a walk around the castle instead to admire its beautiful architecture and the many sights to see in it some more.

You are interrupted halfway through by sounds of a battle going on outside followed by alarms.

Professor Moriarty
The redhead frowned, carefully moving to have a look outside, preferably without attracting unwanted attention. Technically speaking, this wasn't her fight, but perhaps she would still participate if she felt like doing so was fairly to her advantage, and likely to help her convince Doom to let her go. 9 (Ef) in Criminal Mastermind (Stealth, Surveillance) to make my way to have a look outside without being seen;
8 in Intelligence to actually take a look and see what's up.

You look and see a huge figure in gold armor smashing up the defense robots as overhead flies a man with metal wings shooting steel feathers into the defense turrets.

Professor Moriarty
"...Okay... this is clearly beyond my powers to handle", the redhead admitted, hoping that Doom had something in mind to take care of those attackers. As for herself, she decided to retreat further into the fortress. If she was going to fight those men, she needed cover, and hoped they would wear themselves out fighting the robots on the way there. 1 in Speed to run back deeper in the fortress, at speed 2;
12 (Ef) in Criminal Mastermind (Stealth, Search area), 8 to remain out of sight as I retreat; 4 to look for a defensible position further into the fortress where I have more chance of surviving than out in the open.

You run through the halls... Only to be met by a red skinned being wearing a yellow and green costume. "Professor Moriarty, we have come to rescue you." The Vision says.

Professor Moriarty
The professor stopped dead in her tracks, surprised... as she both recognized the Vision, and heard his words.
"...To... rescue me? How... did you even know I was in any sort of trouble? ...And... are the Avengers even allowed to attack Latveria to rescue someone there?" she asked, surprised.

Professor Moriarty
The professor sighed, having to admit that she was in a rather tight spot before those heroes arrived. She wasn't too pleased with the idea that Doom might become an adversary in the future, but the truth was, he probably already had. He was essentially keeping her prisoner, refusing to allow her to move freely despite her repeatedly letting him know she wasn't pleased with the arrangement... and she also couldn't help but admit she feared him in a sense. He was almost as smart as she herself was, was more powerful - obviously - at magic than she was yet, and had built technological wonders she could only dream of at this point, especially that armor... so disobeying him could very well have had dire consequences, and she had to admit she knew little to no counter to his power at the moment.
So all in all... she did need help, and for whatever reason, those Secret Avengers were aware of her situation, and were willing to extract her despite the risks. Which meant two things... one, they were powerful allies, and two, they wanted something for her. At the moment, that sounded like quite a good deal, especially given how she was very confident in her ability to progress in her magical training on her own.
"Very well", she said, nodding. "I will come with you. Lead the way", she added as she manifested her magic gun just in case. 3 in Magic Gun to manifest the magical weapon;
1 in Speed to get moving at Speed 2 to go along with the Vision.
