Bazingirl, just so you know, this here is the Out-of-context thread, where we can talk about basically anything without interrupting game threads or filling up more focused threads. So if you have a question or comment or whatever, bring it up here, please. takewithfood, I'll soon post an explanation here to bring you up to speed with what we want to do with that Buffy game. Still have a couple of things to decide first.

So essentially, here's the situation, takewithfood. At the moment, there will be two games played here. One will be a Dungeons and Dragons 3.0 edition game with some 3.5 aspects, which only just started recently. The other, the one you asked to join, will be a Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel game using the Unisystem rules of the base RPG. My sister, and you, will be the only two players, although as I mentioned earlier, I will always wait for my sister to post before updating, because it's originally made for her. The timeline is sometime during Buffy Season 4/Angel Season 1. The player characters will not be with the main crews, either the Scoobies nor Angel Investigations, in general, but might end up meeting/interracting with them still. The reasons for this are twofold: to give a chance for the PCs to be their own heroes rather than walk in the shadows of two more experienced crews, and to be able to build cool NPCs for you guys to hang around with/face up against. There's enough evil in the world for everybody anyway. So far, Bazingirl - my sister, as you've no doubt guessed by now - will be playing as a somewhat socially akward occult enthusiast who was bitten by a werewolf at some point. We don't have all the details worked out yet, except that her father is a former Special Forces commando for the U.S army, now retired, paranoid, knowledgeable in the occult as well, who helped her deal with her werewolfiness, and who owns a flippin' underground bunker behind his otherwise normal-looking house. We're still working out the details as to where your group will be located, although I'm beginning to think that England could be interesting. Any thoughts, questions, comments or whatevs so far?

Is there any room for new players in the DnD game? I admit I don't know how to play, but I'm willing to try and learn.
Just figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

I didn't expect you to ask, but if my sis' okay with it, I sure don't mind (and I doubt she'd mind). The same condition will apply, though, as in since I originally made that game for her, we must wait for her even if she cannot post for a while. It might be a pretty slow game depending on how real life goes. Is that a problem for you?

Not at all. I don't mind waiting in certain games.

Okay. The other thing is that DnD is a very rules-heavy game system. Just to give you an idea, there's literally hundreds of Feats, thousands of spells, and probably more than a hundred character classes as well. I have over 50 rule books of DnD right here in my study, so I won't be able to just teach you all the rules there are, lol. So... if that's okay with you, instead of the impossible task of telling you every single last option there is for everything, I'll simply make recommendations based on my own knowledge and experience to create your character, play the game and generally have a good time.
Also, DnD is a dice heavy system as well, and we will be using the built-in die roller this board has already installed on.
Still good with you?

Okay. I'll just wait for a confirmation from my sister, but we can still discuss a character concept in the meantime.
My sister is playing a female Elf Gestalth Druid/Sorcerer, named Rowena Kaladyel. Elf is pretty self-explanatory, as for Druid and Sorcerer, they are respectively a spellcaster using powers of nature and eventually transformation powers, along with animal companions (can also heal others), while the latter is the a slight variant on a classic wizard. Difference being that Sorcerers have arcane power in their blood due to having a supernatural ancestor, and can cast spells instinctively rather than researching them in old tomes. As for 'Gestalt', here, it simply means that she gains levels in both classes at once, mixing the advantages of both at once.
I'm thinking of doing the same for you, so you'd pick two classes and get the advantages of both at once. I'll send you a PM with the base races and classes available at the beginning of the game.

Actually I'd rather wait for her approval before doing even that.

Makes sense. I'll still give you an idea of the classes, but we can wait for the approval to discuss further.

So I just posted the posts my sis and I have already done in the DnD prologue thread. I will continue there and introduce Rowlet's character in the next couple of updates if Bazingirl's okay with it.

That all sounds awesome! I already have a concept brewing and I'm starting to read through the rules. Do you want me to discuss my character ideas in here, or via PM, or wait until I have a more solid sheet? Regarding the setting, that sounds like a fun timeline. England would be awesome, though there's a canon Hellmouth in Cleveland, too. XD

PM me to discuss it, if you please. ^_^ England confirmed, sister likes the idea. Also, Hoots Rowlet, Bazingirl is fine with having a teammate in the DnD game as well.
