Is it just me or is the online section tiny lately? Where did everybody go?

I just finished up Secret Wars in the Daily Bugle thread and am looking for some players to start a Fantastic Four adventure. Are you interested?

In all honesty, and I swear on all I hold dear that I do not mean any of this in a disrespectful manner... while I think you are a formidable GM with great storytelling skills, and that the Daily Bugle is a pillar of stability on this board, I think I'll leave this opportunity to others.
Again, this is nothing personal and I mostly understand the reasoning behind them, but things like not being able to make my own CAD, the game system itself changing every once in a while, and my CADs being updated, often to be nerfed as opposed to improved, without me having a say in it, sort of are pet peeves of mine I have trouble dealing with.
I have fond memories of my time as part of it, but I will have to respectfully and apologetically decline. Thanks for the offer, however.

No worries. Thank you for your honesty, Manah. I was unaware of the negative impact my attempts to play with game mechanics was having on my players.
In the past, I ran "Avengers: The Initiative" on this board that allowed players to build their own heroes. In that game players would come and go and because they "owned" their characters I had to write them in and out of the story. This instability caused me to expire that game. That also seems to be the reason every game I play in comes to an end.
The Daily Bugle is my attempt at a never-ending story. Because if the player for Hulk suddenly goes AWOL, I can just recast Bruce Banner with a different player. (Just like they did in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.)
The game can't go on with zero players though. The Daily Bugle does have one loyal follower and we hope some others will decide to join us. And then as a group we can decide what game system to run our next story with.

To be fair, I don't think it's having a negative impact on your players in general. As I mentioned, it's mostly pet peeves of mine. The Daily Bugle is still a fantastic game well-deserving of the respect I, and I suspect many others on the board, have for it, if only for how incredibly long-lived and well-made it is.
Out of curiosity, what system do you use at the moment?

We just finished the Secret Wars using MURPG, but are open to using a new system for our next adventure. We're currently pausing here to try to find new players before starting the next adventure.

Aw hell. Why not I could use some broader horizons.
Andy: If you'll have me, and you're still looking for F4 members. I call Ben Grimm!

I see. For the sake of it, what other systems might be used, and what are the available characters? Good ole classic Reed, Johnny, Sue and Ben?

The way we left Secret Wars, we could have either The Thing or She-Hulk on the Fantastic Four. Hoots Rowlet just expressed interest in Ben Grimm, so we'll likely go that way. Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Girl are still available. (The adventure takes place slightly before she changed her name to The Invisible Woman.) The next adventure is based on the old TSR Marvel Superheroes RPG, but we can run it using MURPG rules, DC Heroes, Smallville, BASH!, DC Adventures (Mutants & Masterminds), Hero Systen Basic, Marvel Heroic, the Sentinel Comics Role Playing Game, Enforcers, Silver Age Sentinels or any other RPG Game System I happen to own or can be talked into purchasing. For now this will be decision with roxolid and Hoots Rowlet.

I only know MURPG, and a bit of MSH. By MSH, do you mean the TSR Marvel Superheroes Roleplaying Game from the 80s and 90s?

Yes... I know the basics of how to play, but not much else. Are you interested in learning a new game system? As The Thing or She-Hulk any system should be super easy to play as a strong, durable hand-to-hand fighter.

Only as long as I don't have to spend money on anything. I'm on a tight budget.
