Only as long as I don't have to spend money on anything. I'm on a tight budget. As a player, you won't have to spend a dime.

Then I guess I could give it a try.

I'll play absolutely anything and trust you to handle any mechanic type details Andyman. Maybe we'd just express actions and if there are any attack options to be given a list of those beforehand? For example DC Heroes have Critical Blow and Devastating Attack, Dodge, grapple etc. I'm sure all games have their own versions. Of the games you list: MURPG rules - obviously I know that one DC Heroes - been running my own house ruled play by post game for just over 10 years now, I sorta know this one Smallville - Hmm think I own this but don't know it . I guess it's like Marvel heroic being from Cam Banks and MWP? BASH! - Own this but not had chance to play or run it. If i recall it uses 2D6 and a multiplier to get a result on a MSH type table? is the game any good? DC Adventures (Mutants & Masterminds) - Right, this one I own all three editions of but I've never run them only played them. I feel like I really should love this/play it a lot but the character creation gives me a mental block. Rolling a D20 to resolve stuff is easy enough though. Hero System Basic - last version I played is 5th Edition (big black book) but I've got (somewhere) 4th, 3rd and 2nd kicking about somewhere. Took me AGES to make a character (mental block thing like M&M) but the game plays easy enough with 3D6 roll under if I recall. The sweet spot for me was 3rd Edition and it got scary/big book after that. Champions Complete I think I own too (it was cheap on ebay...) but not sure what system that is. 6E? A mish mash? Dunno. Marvel Heroic - I tried this (on these boards) when it came out and wasn't struck on it. Felt more like a dice game where you end up rolling a bunch of dice and picking two +1 die for effect and mostly use the same dice every time. There's probably a good game in there somewhere but... It leaves me kind of cold. the Sentinel Comics Role Playing Game - absolutely no idea about this one. Any good? Enforcers - I think I have this (it comes up cheap on ebay too) but no idea if it's any good, how it plays etc. Silver Age Sentinels - there was a Tri Stat and D20 version and own both. One is the Deluxe hardcover and it *looks* absolutely gorgeous but I have no idea if it's any good. Never played/GM'd it. As you might be able to tell I *love* supers games but tend to stick to certain ones (over the years Marvel basic (a lot) and Advanced (not so much), all versions of DC Heroes (a lot), Villains and Vigilantes (a bit), Golden heroes (a lot), and bits of Champions and Mutants and Masterminds) and leave others gathering dust. I would like to play anything you fancy GMing even if I have to learn a new system.

As an aside I've been trying to read the Icons RPG but as usual these days my naff old brain glazes over and I fall asleep when trying to learn new stuff. Have you played that? Is there a 'dummies guide' somewhere or possibly a 'dummies guide for dummies wanting to play Icons'?

Thought I'd have a look up in the loft to see what games I have available. Most of my stuff is in the lockup (which I really need to go check out as moths might have eaten everything by now ) so unless I have it in PDF I'm kind of stuck with what I can rustle up. I'm scrimping and saving for a house deposit at the moment but hope (one day!) to be able to have some kind of games room/sanctum with all the various games I've collected over the years on shelves behind me. I picture a lovely great oak desk, comfy leather office chair, powerful PC and ginormous TV screen as monitor/to watch movies on. And it's locked up. Oh, and only I have the key, (sorry kids ) It's a dream I have, just have to keep grinding away with the overtime Anyway, this is what I have available (also something called Providence which I have no idea about and tunnels & trolls, BECMI D&D and probably a few other bits but these are the supers games I have on hand):

roxolid, we played the Captain Britain adventure using BASH! stats for a while. Those stats are here.: murpg.proboards.com/post/330221 I liked it. Besides MURPG and DC Heroes, I do not have the actual books you show in your picture. Smallville tends towards creating a story with good character development and interaction. This may be great for a Fantastic Four game because the group is like a family. However, this would be a terrible system with only two players, because it really needs a group of four players to vary relationship options. However, I'm hoping to get a couple more players to use this. Players won't need the book. I can give them everything they need in their player character stats. While we wait, I'd like to make up stats for the whole Fantastic Four just for fun.

After some playing around with Smallville, I've ruled it out. I'm now looking at DC Adventures that uses Mutants & Masterminds rules.

Have you heard of this: It sounds like the sort of thing I would back in a Kickstarter so I thought I'd go through the names and... There I am! I ... uh... just haven't bothered reading it yet. Come to think of it I can't remember the last time (or ANY time) I read something I kickstarted... Doh.
