Flypaper believes Mother Mayfly to be the most dangerous of all villains, for she can turn ally into enemy. She may even be the key to why a Ghost Bear Rider fights beside the Menace. He must keep her from being able to command the others, but Spider-Man is better equipped to to that.
"Spider-Man! We need your nonstop banter on full volume and a web-gag over the mouth of Mother Mayfly! I'll cover you!"
True to his word, Flypaper rapid fires his stinger gun in a protective pattern around Spider-Man, so he can focus on web-shooting. Zzzrx then tries to produce as much white noise as he can to drown our Mother Mayhem's antennae and maybe even whatever is being used to control the Battle Borgs.
"BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!"
Action 1: 4 stones Ranged Combat + 6 from Stinger Gun shifted to Spider-Man's Defense. (Can I do that?)
Action 2: 3 stones Telepathy to counter any other form of insect-related control in the room with this own white noise.

The drones dispatched into so many spare parts, Wildfire dives towards Stormcrow and his opponent.
"A friend of yours, Raijin?"
Jim swoops by, a dozen feet out of reach, blasting fire from both outstretched hands like a gout of red dragonfire to envelop the Monkey King. It isn't hot, though – the cold, quasi-vaporous plasma is a screen to confuse Stormcrow's opponent and give him the edge on whatever he has planned next.

"Whoever I am?" Shimmer frowned, surprised that Omega Red haven't been briefed on what kind of resistance could their plans meet. Then again, who was she to argue against the flaws of the bad guys' plans? A bunch of X-Men came to the rescue, so they should make short work of such a foe. She usually didn't pay much attention to that, but she liked the new uniforms, slick, way less pockets and shoulder pads. Eira had been too optimistic, as it wasn't just them the ones with reinforcements and soon the Cuban newcomer scattered a couple of them with strange powers.
The fact was that she had been in way worse places, against way weirder enemies, but now felt home. Things had been getting intense and edgy before the Guardian's departure, and lost in dimensions they just got more and more odd. Now back at their Earth and fighting fanatical commies? That was known ground. "Defeat is all you will know, Red" Shimmer retorted, "I'll stop whatever is going on and soon you'll be running back to the Soviet Union with the tail between your legs" she added.
It was clear that while Omega Red was a known danger for the X-Men and they should know how to handle him, the Cuban newcomer got both Wolverine and Nightcrawler by surprise. That he could hover around out of range and the attacks didn't came from him was a nuisance, but Eira had seen him already attack twice, enough to see that she didn't need her eyes on the player, but on the ball. Ready to dodge the metal sphere or weather the impact if she was hit, Shimmer was ready to invade the Cuban's personal space.

STORMCROW”Once, long ago, I did indeed count him among those I called friend. I hope to still yet again.” Is his quick reply to Hammond. ”The people’s revolution, Sun Wukong? Raijin asked, sadness in his voice as he indicates the innocents down below. ”I see no people inciting revolution, nor any marshaling to join The Menace beyond those he’s tricked and manipulated into coming here with him.
“I see no cause being championed beyond chaos and destruction... with none save the people suffering for it. Any battle for revolution should be against the oppressor, not the oppressed— and yet, look where The Menace has opted to strike? Tell me, what wisdom is there to this attack? You speak of fear. Revolutions are not born of fear, they are infected and crushed by it. A revolution is born and sustained on the hope of a better tomorrow. There is no honor in this.” ”Any who would strike out at the innocent and defenseless, sew destruction with no thought to that better tomorrow, those who would rely on violence and fear to keep their constituents in line? The clowns cheerful smile quickly turned sour at the approach of the friends to the Menace. He was quite displeased they had ruined his fun. "This is a closed party for Dennis, but I'll tell you a joke. What's red and bad for your teeth?" He launches his punching glove at the ghost riders teeth attempting to knock a few out. And then activates another box he had behind his back black smoke begins to obscured any line of sight in the surrounding area.

Evka's face took on a slightly irritated expression at seeing the Menaces companions.
"Oh good..." She said picking Ivan up and at blinding speed and dumping him out of the hole in the ship Flypaper had created on his way in.
".. More stupid."
"Look forward to hearing how murder of innocent civilians fits with Ghost Rider job description."
Without waiting for an answer she vanished passing through the floor in her Astral form. If she was lucky the fall would have killed the Menace. Otherwise there were plenty of heroes out there who would keep him busy trying to 'arrest' him.
Of course, when was she ever 'that' lucky?

Infra-Red takes The Menace and chucks him out the opening. For any other mortal, one might be inclined to take him at dead then and there, but for The Menace they really should wait to see a body, and even then based on their past interactions the odds of him returning were still rather high; his malice and zealotry seemed to now few limits. Now though she turned her attention to the October Rider. As she got closer, she could see the bindings around him made in cold iron and marked with the same Angelic scripts that showed up on many demonic items. At the core of her being she could feel the binding of Baba Yaga here on the Rider, for all The Menace’s talk he probably had some contact with the foul hag and not too long ago. This Spirit of Vengeance was bound, possibly barely aware of his actions.
Jack-in-The-Box, similarly bound to the cause of justice and barely aware of his actions. He cranked the box of justice and a punching glove came to sock the October Rider square in the jaw as he starts setting up the second box. (OOC: Do the boxes have individual musical cues, or do they all synch to “Pop Goes the Weasel”?) He nearly knocks the Rider off his ghostly bear mount, but he rights himself, spitting out broken teeth and slowly regrowing new ones made of Hellfire, although it seemed like he could injure him faster than the Rider could recover. Then Jack hides himself in a cloud of smoke, absorbing any of the laser fire his direction (and obscuring him enough to avoid harm).
Spider-Man looks up (quite literally) to Flypaper as he leaps between the Hivarian Hero’s cover fire, excitedly motor-mouthed underneath that mask, like a kid talking to his favorite superhero. “Want me to run my mouth? Don’t have to tell me twice! Yeah, this feels real familiar… Did I fight this lady with you before, sticky-feet? You, me, and… some guy named Conduit...?” Spider-Man rapidly remembers his team-up with Flypaper and Captain Conduit where they had quite strong objections to that particular unholy union between mutant alien hive-mother and sentient radioactive bee swarm (in the now-classic “You May Now Kiss The Monster…” ~ DK.) Mother Mayfly buzzes on wings that can barely carry her, “Curzzz you all! Currz...” Her own power over creatures multi-legged and chitinous was immense, but with Zzzrx generating his own counter-noise, she struggled to get the BattleBorgs to action using it as she usually can. She’s forced to produce the control device off her person in favor of manual control. Spider-Man fires his webbing and snags in, “Yoink! Well, that looks important! This the goober? Well, it’s mine now!” He presses the button and the BattleBorgs point their weapons on one another (OOC: and unless Spidey’s somehow stopped, they’ll all open fire next panel).
******** For a moment, Raijin starts getting through to his old divine friend, “Yes… I made a promise to be better than all this chaos, not too long ago… I think… Think I remember...”
The Thing watches The Menace fall out of the ship with his arms bound by confetti. He kicks the side of the hull (leaving a small dent) to propel himself like a one-man Sputnik in the direction of Stormcrow, Sun Wukong, and Wildfire, multicolored confetti trailing in the air behind him. “Sweet Aunt Petunia and I thought I’d seen everything...”
Wildfire blasts cold plasma at Sun Wukong, who shakes it away from his face distractedly.
Raijin’s back is turned to The Menace, but his godly reflexes are fast enough that he’s able to avoid his super-strength-propelled push forward past him and Wildfire into Wukong’s waiting arms. Wukong catches The Menace’s bound form and they float in midair on his cloud. “Master Tanzen! The Sutras! Are they safe? The demons are growing larger, Master! And hotter!” The Monkey King is ranting and delusional, clearly mistaking The Menace for his old master on his Journey to the West.
“They’re fine,” The Menace said flatly before he addresses Wildfire with a similar casual flair, “James, finally, someone who will listen to reason. Have they put you in charge of this little Reactionary Brigade? Call off your dogs, you are fighting the tide of a losing battle. This doesn’t have to be another Dresden!” Jim Hammond knew Ivan Menzikhov as one of the few men who hated Nazis more than Cap did, and before the accident that turned him into this he had been a somewhat unusual ally behind enemy lines in Europe turned Cold War enemy. (Namor never liked him and the feeling was mutual). Referencing Dresden was a low blow and a bad idea, so much bad blood there, Cap would have knocked his teeth out if he had heard him mention it…
The three-quarters of The Fantastic Four that isn’t Johnny Storm have gotten close enough for Reed to start stretching close. “...I would say you’re hardly in any rational position to negotiate, err, Comrade. Whoever you are.”
The Menace seethed at not being recognized, “You want rational?! I’ll show you rational! I’ll show you how rational it is to fear me!” ******** Meanwhile, at the disrupted Hellfire Club fundraiser, Shimmer and The X-Men were fighting Omega Red and El Mundo. The Cuban geokinetic was unprepared for Shimmer’s teleportation sidestep and attack, his armor sundered. “Will we, now? You are fractured like many rays of light! We are one! We are mighty, we are...!”
Cyclops blasts El Mundo square in the gap made by Shimmer’s blade, the kind of precision shot that comes from a lifetime of practice and years of training with spatial geometry. It sends him toppling over and Shimmer lands on her feet as he collapses in a heap.
Wolverine and Omega Red are near a standstill, but this has given Emma Frost the chance to transform and use her telepathy to keep Red frozen in place like a statue. “I can hold him for containment. Not much longer than that.”
Cyclops nodded and produced a strange flower. Shimmer was surprised as she saw the flower become the nexus of some kind of interdimensional gate, not unlike what she generates with the Bifrost, but produced by some kind of organic source of immense power. The portal looked like it opened to some sort of tropical island.
Logan sniffed the Bifrost Beauty appraisingly, muttering “Good work out there” as he walked through the Krakoan gate with the strut that suggested he expected a six-pack waiting for him. Nightcrawler followed immediately after, “I couldn’t agree more. Allow me to introduce myself: Kurt Wagner, but I have the strangest feeling you and I have met once before. If not, I would like to give you the sincerest ‘Charmed,’ Liebchen....” You seemed to remember an incident in Asgard where Loki had installed a human mutant Windrider as the God of Thunder, and a blue elf who was briefling palling around with the Warriors Three, but it was hazy, you two might not have even talked to one another. Logan calls out, “Flirt on your own time, Elf! Beers are first come first serve and I plan on servin’ all of ‘em, myself.”
“Ach...” Nightcralwer grinned sheepishly, “Another time then. Auf wiedersehen.” He saluted her with his three fingers and disappeared in a BAMF of pink-purple acrid smoke, emerging near the portal.
El Mundo protested as Cyclops restrained him, “I demand a trial before my peers!”
Scott nudged him, “You’re a mutant. That’s exactly what you’re getting on Krakoa.”
If Shimmer had any objection to the X-Men detaining Omega Red and El Mundo themselves (and mutants being the sole arbiters of mutant law) and not waiting for human authorities like SHIELD like she was used to, now would definitely be the time to raise them.

Evka looked at the October Rider her eyes widening as the implications of what she saw took hold in her head.
Baba Yaga's chains were on the rider, that meant someone had gotten the better of her, had gotten her to do the Menace's bidding.
It was an indignity that would require horrific retribution, though in fairness that was the only sort of retribution she went in for. However, she had not stopped Evka from attacking Ivan, which meant her support only went so far. She was bound to her word, Evka was not.
Plans were formulated and amended at dizzying speed and then, she moved.
The magic of the bands around the October Rider were made of the same stuff that her death touch was made of and the one thing magic could not protect from was itself.

With the villains quickly beaten by the improvised team up, Eira relaxed her posture, prismatic sword vanishing as soon as she checked it wasn't needed anymore. "I can help with-" Eira muttered when Emma warned about the timed nature of her restraints on Omega Red, but her offer was cut short as the mutants produced their own new means of transportation. "That's useful" she shrugged, that surprise getting filed with the rest of changes she needed explaining about once things were calmer. Wolverine's dry compliment was returned with a nod, while Nightcrawler's more colorful attitude managed to draw a smile on her face. "Maybe... one of Loki's messes" Eira commented, remembering an Asgardian incident where she had been dragged against her will once more, only to find the trickster god getting his schemes around both the X-Men and their young pupils alike. She had been around, although her task was to see if Karnilla was involved in all that mess, so she had been in the sidelines most of the time. "Another time" she repeated after Kurt.
"Wait..." Eira said, seeing where things were going. SHIELD should take care of those, even if they were mutants, but she considered for a moment. More than once she had been unhappy about how the shady agency dealt with things, and more than once she had been split between SHIELD and Odin when a criminal from the other realms was apprehended. Was her task really to get into a jurisdictional mess with the X-Men when both civilians and her fellow Guardians were in danger out there? Eira was loyal to an order, the right way of doing things, but above all she was a hero.
"Nothing, it doesn't matter" she waved off her concerns with a gesture of her hand. "More important matters at stake, once things calm down I'll hop by... Krakoa to say hello" Eira added, although first she needed to figure out what that much mentioned Krakoa was and more importantly where was it. Unless the X-Men needed anything else from her, and they really did seem in a hurry, she would make sure that the civilians in the Hellfire party were safe before heading back out to the mayhem and to reunite with her fellow Guardians.

The clown was angry. He was going to dispose of the ugly Russian but his "teammate decided to do it. No fun. No fair. An all-out superhero melee had been the last thing on Wildfire's mind when they were stepping back into the world they belonged to. Only a few minutes ago his head had been filled with thoughts of a well-deserved vacation somewhere sandy and sunny, with some kind of fruity drinks, someplace he'd think once more about leaving superhero life behind to just be "James Hammond." But the Russian who appeared to have orchestrated their unexpected homecoming highlighted for Jim that some obligations couldn't be walked away from...
...Sacred duties like punching out Nazis, Commies, and other Menaces...
The jab about Dunkirk made Wildfire lose his cool.
"That's enough from you –"
Gritting his teeth in a sizzling snarl, Jim flew at the Menace, fist clenched, elbow back, poised to deliver a knockout punch that would make Captain America proud and the Sub-Mariner wince.

STORMCROW”No... no, no, no, no...” As the very hope he’d been speaking of, the one whose flame he’d been fanning in trying talk sense into his once friend, is endangered by blue plasma, then The Menace, and now the irrational reaction of Hammond. ”What would Tanzen say to see innocents made to suffer in place of their oppressors? What do the sutras tell us of fear, or of those whom would use it as a weapon?!?” Raijin presses loudly, desperation fueling his voice even as Hammond rushes towards The Menace and The Monkey King both. Shimmer retains the kind of diplomatic grace fit a being of her power and stature as she initiated one of her rainbow shifts, a quick hop across the spectrum and back to arrive on the deck of the Hivarian ship, emerging in the midst of the battle in progress, the tide of which appears to be turning... ********** Magic attacks magic, the bands forged struck by a being twisted by the dark magics of the same evil hag, Evka felt if there could be no better weapon to strike the bands binding this Spirit of Vengeance. The bands shattered into so much cold iron and silver filigree, the symbols fading and vanishing into silver fire, the Rider and his bear roaring together before becoming consumed in their own hellfire, screaming madly. The bear is now a sickly looking Siberian Grizzly with a collar and a disheveled overweight Russian man reeking heavily of vodka. He spoke in slurred low-class Muscovite accent, "<Comrade Ivan, watt izz wrong? Hash the eshperriment failed? ...Do I shtill get paid...?>"
The BattleBorgs that were pointed at Spidey found themselves shot down by the machine gun box Jack threw strategically in their midst and unable to prevent him from turning their full fire on one another. "Ooh, what does this button do?!" Spider-Man activated the controls, turning the BattleBorgs' Hivarian sonic buzz-blasters on one another, destroying them in rapid succession (and a "bzzz!") Flypaper thanked his good fortune there wasn't a true mob of mind-controlled miscreants for him to muddle through before delivering his knockout suplex to Mother Mayfly. It seems like of all the things The Menace had anticipated in launching The Revolution's attack on Manhattan he had failed to account for the arrival of The Guardians. That being said, there's still the matter of The Menace himself, now engaged in the conflict between Wukong with Wildfire and Stormcrow.
Spider-Man looks around at the collective Guardians, offers an outstretched friendly neighborhood webslinging hand, "Ok, so who goes first at these things usually for you guys? Spider-Man, but I have the strange feeling we've met before..." ********* Wildfire punches The Menace square in his gray jaw, drawing black ichor down his crooked chin. The blow is not enough to take him down completely, but it might take very little more to land the knockout blow. Wukong is starting to heed his divine compatriot's pleas, "There is truth to what you're saying, Raijin... I feel trapped in illusions... So confused. Perhaps I should sit down..."
"No! Know fear and fear my power! Fear The Menace!" The Menace lashed out with ominous waves of sickly-colored blue-green psionic energy that emanated off his body in waves. When it passes over, there's an anxious baseless nausea that grips and just as quickly washes over; between Jim Hammond's synthetic brain and iron will and Stormcrow's divine intellect they both are able to resist The Menace's fear effect, as does Mr. Fantastic. Sue is hit hard, losing the field she was maintaining and collapsing into her chair. Reed reaches around to hold her, "Sue! It appears to be some kind of psionic effect designed to stimulate primal flight-or-fight responses in the hindbrain! You have to resist it!" The Fantasticar wobbles as Ben struggles to keep it level, "Easy for you to say, Stretch-O! I can b-barely see straight... Woah!"
Wukong's electrified control crown appears to have the fringe benefit of making him additionally pliable to The Menace's absorption. The Menace is slowly radiating the energy he drained (OOC: some sign of it would be visible to Jim's cybernetic senses), and despite the extent of his injuries, he appears fully revitalized. (OOC: To be clear, he's still lost a lot of Health from both Wildfire and Infra-Red's attacks, but his energy reserves are for the moment beyond full.) Wukong has lost most of his will to fight, and lost whatever focus he had besides that dedicated to keeping him and The Menace afloat. Would The Menace have enough fight for both of them? Either way this would be his last stand.

Evka sighed, big and dumb, just how Ivan liked them, but she didn't have any more time to waste.
"If by failed you mean 'did not enslave you to his will' then no, experiment worked perfectly. My colleagues find out how many innocent lives you have taken soon, ok?"
She looked up at him with a withering expression on her face. She was not in the mood to be gentle.
"Spiderman, please talk sense into boring man on bear, I have idiot to chase." She said over her shoulder.
With that she vanished through the floor leaving the likely enraged hell spawn for the others to deal with. She had the Menace to pursue. After all he might have survived the fall and that would never do.
