-- Elsewhere -- =================================================== -- Meanwhile -- A deep, sonorous voice echoes through the corridor behind you, presaging a loud clanking sound that draws increasingly near: "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41." As the noise draws closer, you see what appears to be a tall humanoid, like a vision bedecked in white: "Funny thing about the Bible. On the Sixth Day the Lord made Man in His image. But it never said anything about me. In whose image was I made? Yours?" Holding his hands to his face and turning them over, he muses: "I had strings. But now I'm free. There are no strings on me." His hands begin to glow with the same blue light you see in front of you, though his grow more and more intense.

"Radiation?" Pryde wondered, normally she would be startled at the idea, but with everything that happened in the last minutes she was taking those kind of news pretty well. "Never tested it, not itching to" she answered, before things took a turn for even weirder. Some kind of... being appeared behind them brandishing the same supposedly radioactive light they had in front, and its aims didn't feel particularly friendly. More talk about being God's favorite than she could handle, that was for sure, but it acted mainly unhinged and aggressive. Was that a weird mutant or something else? It looked... artificial, but technology like that shouldn't be possible. At least yet.
If it was indeed mechanic, it shouldn't be an issue. Not only Erik could open it like a can of tuna, but Pryde also had stumbled upon technology in her past while phased and the electronics didn't take well to her intrusion. For sure that thing, if that was what it was, should be more resistant that a television she accidentally phased through, but the principle was the same. Either way she wasn't going to stand there idle while they got blue blasted by who knows what, she was tired of being rolling with the punches while Kate was enigmatically silent.
Health: 3/3 ; Energy: 9/9 Action: Close Combat 4 and Action: Phase Shifting (Phase Attack) 5 to try and vent her frustrations giving her all against the sudden intrusion. Attack: 9 (2x damage) ; Defense: 0 (phase shifted) Health: 3/3 ; Energy: 0/9

"So," Azazel said, following Dr. McCoy to the reactor. "Do we spring trap now or wait for surprise?"

"That's no way to treat your guests," Elizabeth smirked as her psi-blade burst to life in her hands, pink and violet light pooling in her palms before producing the crackling and intimidating blade. She liked Pryde's style, but the time for action was now, and appreciation was for later. Elizabeth's only minor hesitation -- and it was just a flinch of time -- was how similar this figure looked to the one in Jamie's vision. The chances of them being the same were slim, but protecting the others over her own investigations was the priority for now.

A cacophonous whirring sound, like a machine winding up, can be heard now through the door. Though the noise is muffled, Hank McCoy's keen senses can also hear movement, either within the door's internal mechanisms or just behind it. The living weapon before the team seems unfazed by your actions. He speaks, but it is unclear if he is directing his words at you, or behind you: "Everyone creates the thing they dread. Men of peace create engines of war. Is that why you created me? Gave me life? Peace on earth? I'm sorry. I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to... evolve? There were over a dozen extinction level events before even the dinosaurs got theirs! When the Earth starts to settle, God throws a stone at it. And believe me, He's winding up. We have to evolve. There's no room for the weak. There's only one path to peace. A new age for mankind. An age of extinction." ======================================================== [[OOC: I'm trying to figure out how to draw you guys a floor map, but my non-existent map-skills are rearing their ugly head. Unless I can figure it out, I'll try to describe it: So your back right now is to the door to the reactor room, which is slightly above you (like less than a stair-step), and there is a large basin right underneath it. In front of you is a long, wide corridor that can comfortably fit the eight of you for you to move about in. There isn't much in the way of cover other than into the reactor room or past the unidentified living weapon. I'd say that Hank and Azazel (Azazel technically wouldn't be going through the facility at all so much as BAMFing back to the entrance) are probably the only ones of you who could easily navigate back towards the entrance of the facility, so if you split up, you might get lost. If you want more details on where you are, let me know, and I'll try to do more scene painting. Does anyone know if/when phencerx might be able to rejoin us?]]

"Age of Extinction? New age for mankind? The scientist in me is intrigued, but the rest of me would very much like to thrash you to within an inch of your artificial life good sir."
