"Red Rick" is now "Blood Red Rick". Stunned, perhaps more by his sucess at defeating the werebeast than by his wounds, Rick takes a Panel long dirt nap next to the dead Angelica and the mostly dead Erik.

I hate to jump in again. Love the story. Good luck to Andrew. Hehe. Question, I'm fairly new to the game. Can a character survive indef. at zero health? It seems to me that Erik should have succumbed to his wounds by now. Is it a flaw in the rules that allow a mortally wounded person to keep on going? I realize he and now Rick can't DO anything but...Hope I'm not intruding. I'm just trying to understand the rules better.

This might not be such a good idea. But it's better than outside. Andrew wonders if he's trading one death sentence in for another.
He makes careful steps forward, his lighter up, lighting the way.
He looks back. But he keeps moving forward. Slowly.

When a character is brought to 2 red stones of Health they are stunned for one round, and are groggy thereafter. They can't regenerate any stones of energy, but can still take actions that would normally be automatic. If a character is brought to only 1 red stone of Health, they are in a coma. Then they can really do nothing. Like most RPG games MURPG doesn't continue to hurt characters with bleeding damage after damage is taken. Some attacks may be poisonous or have continual damage as a specially added feature of a particular Action or Modifier. If a GM can dream it up, then it's possible. However, standard Claws would not inflict "bleeding damage". (At least I hope that this is the case for Rick and Erik.) Also, don't count us out yet. I PMed Erik's player with a plan to help us. Shhhhhhhhhh... don't tell the GM.

As Erik sees the werewolf fall he smiles.
"I never saw somebody fighting that good with a laptop" - he looks down at Angelica's corpse - "Hope she didn't have AIDS or else I'm screwed"
Erik tries to contend his desperation, he has seen people dieing in front of him. This night is something that won't be forgotten in a long time... or a short time perhaps.
"We need to call 911, arghh!!" - He pushes Angelica's corpse with trembling, weakened hands - "Sorry to tell you this girl but you are heavy, hope no one of us is necrophiliac, that's something I don't want to see tonight!!!!"
Erik thinks about the gem and that maybe thats what turned the bum into the werewolf as he heard somebody say. Maybe he should take it away...
(OOC: Sounds like a plan Andyman, hope it works)

The damage that was done to Erik and now Rick was bad, but if they don't move much( like they have much of a choice) they should be alright. Don't worry they won't bleed to death.

ok, thanks for the comments. The wound just seemed more graphically mortal then it really was I guess. I also agree with the fact that most games don't have a loss of blood or bleeding rule. Prob. why I incorporate one in most of my games.

Erick and Rick can see the form of the werewolf collapse and return to that of the man. You both feel a little more able to handle that, but once the man is back a new person approaches. He is hooded and carries a rope. Looking like an executioner from Medieval times. He walks over to Erik. Standing above him he drops his heavy rope next Erik's head, it's end tied ready in a noose. Erik Health 2 Red StonesRick Health 2 Red Stones 1iAs Andrew cautiously moves up the corridor he sees the black prostitute run out of a side corridor ahead screaming in a panic. She is covered in blood and she is holding a small knife. She is running straight for you." Help me! Help me!" She is totally freaking. 2 6

"Erik! Pull yourself together! That's not a Red Vine around your neck! Follow me!"
FLEE!!!!!!
Rick flees back down the road, hoping to reach the gas station and his goth comic book reading buddy. Action 1: 1 stone of Leadership to Erik for him to 'pull himself together' with a Healing Action.
Action 2: FLEEing in a straight line down the road back to the detour sign. This is using that nifty FLEE modifier that the great, benevolent talismanhex developed in his ultimate wisdom.

OOC: You mean:
New Modifier: FLEE!( +2 maximum) Cost: Modifier Number + 2 levels. It works like a defense. When you want to use it you simply yell FLEE! and you are gone. You will run in a straight line forward, back, left or right, your choice. You will run Modifier Number + Speed x 2 feet in the direction you pick and only stop if you just can't go any further, like running to a wall. It gives you a Defense of Modifier Number + Speed to escape damage. This can only be used once per mission, because it is so draining and when you reach your destination you automatically loose Initiative and go last, hope you don't run into anyone.
Good play.

Andrew holds his hands up. He can't think of anything clever to say here, all he can shout is: "What's wrong?! What's wrong?!" I hope she doesn't cut me...

Erik removes what once was a shirt puts it around his wound and pressure it on his wound. The pain is enormous but he succeeds in alleviating the constant pain in his chest as he runs away following the RA.
"I can't believe this is happening" - says between slow breaths as he runs as fast as he can. The sight of another killer made him forget how hurt he is.
H: 2r E: 0
Action 1: 1 stone from Leadership to 'pull myself together' with a Healing Action.
Action 2: Follow the RA's example of running away with the great home bred modifier

Retrieving his pitchfork from Steve's gut the Scarecrow and his crows run away from the asylum toward the car. He notices the Hangman was dealing with two more victims. The Hangman puts the noose around Erik's neck and tightens it with all of his strength. Erik at the time was struggling to get up and run away. The Hangman pulls with all of his might. CRACK![/color] The sudden pull not only snapped Erik's neck back, but also jerked Erik's back in ways it shouldn't bend. Blood erupted from his chest as his back crumpled into an inhuman looking heap. His head lurched back with glazed eyes watching the fleeing Rick. OOC: I think Erik has finally met his maker on this one. Hangman goes before he does and his sudden pull deals 3 White Stones of damage to Erik. Even with Erik's healing bringing him to 1 White Stone this will put him way over. I am sure the viewers will love your death. Please PM me with any comments and I will divulge any clues as to what you were up against. Again, thank you." WHAT'S WRONG?" She points the shiny knife down the other hall," THAT F*CKING OLD MAN WAS SPLIT UP THE MIDDLE!" Looking down the hall you can make out a body lying face down in a dark pool. 2 6Rick was gone. He yelled something at Erik, but didn't stick around to see if Erik made it. Rick was about to die and he was full of fear, so he took flight. You run 640 yards( yes I changed the rule a little; Modifier#+Speedx2x80( Speed 1 on the Running chart)yards) collapsing at the second detour. The moon was past, leaving the area blanketed in darkness, except the flashing detour lights. Health: 2 Red Stones 1i

Rick sees the detour sign that lead him and his classmates to the Ravenloft Institute like lambs to a slaughterhouse. This sign may have also lured the two gangsta whiteboys that way. Or.... was one of them the hangman? Maybe the scarecrow wasn't Mal after all. That brutish hangman certainly wasn't the hottie in the teeny-weeny orange bikini. Rick takes comfort in knowing that he's not far now from the next lit road sign. Then it'll only be two more blocks to the gas station. Gosh, Rick hopes the Hellblazer comic-reading attendant isn't also the guy who killed Erik. 'Naw, that kid reads comics. He can't possibly be bad. I gotta get to the station and warn him about the bogus detour.' For lack of any other possible sanctuary of hope, Rick runs toward the gas station. Too freaked out by the dark to remain silent, Rick sings the following at the top of what's left of his lungs, while sprinting down the side of the road.: HEY HEY YOU YOU I COULD BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND!
HEY HEY YOU YOU I KNOW THAT YOU LIKE ME!
NO WAY NO WAY I KNOW IT'S NOT A SECRET!...
Action 1: 1 stone toward Speed to run at Speed 2 toward the gas station. Health: 2 red stones Energy: 0i/2i
