I was speaking litterally, There really is no rule that says that a character AN and recovery determines the outcome of a battle. In fact there a section in the core book that says any Marvel character depending on the circumstances has a chance to beat another. When the best fight on thier own terms, there is no loophole that can stop them.
PS: You telling me that professor X has all peak human stats and is one of the best fighters in the world (Punisher has 7 in CC and RC and agy 3)?
Ever got in fight where someone who had thier legs held? There are certain actions that would incurr enormous penalties while fighting without the use of ones legs, like for example, close combat. Any GM that does not add +5 R stones to Prof X while he is in combat is skatterbrained. The problem is that the book is written wonky.
