Hypester's awesome Bizzzerk character inspired me to make this Modifier.
Berserk Frenzy
Cost: MN+1
The character can fly into a berserk rage. What makes a character so angry is determined by her personality and Challenges. Once something enrages her, the character adds her Berserk Frenzy Modifier in free stones to her Close Combat every Panel she is enraged. The character is furious and will recklessly attack until all her opponents are defeated, regardless of concern for her own safety or property damage. If her friends try to stop her, for any reason, she may see them as enemies, depending on the situation. Stones from Berserk Frenzy may not be shifted into defense, but this doesn't prevent her from using any other stones defensively (from Close Combat, for example.)
It may occasionally behoove a character with this Modifier not to turn into a seething ball of rage at the drop of a hat. A Berserk Frenzy can be resisted by paying stones out Intelligence or Concentration. If the character has a special Action or Modifier that helps them keep their grip, like Meditation or Iron Will, that's okay too. The Resistance for keeping your cool begins at 1 the first Panel something happens to anger her, and increases by 1 every Panel after that until it reaches a maximum Resistance of her Berserk Frenzy Modifier for as long as the enraging situation persists.
Options
-2 to CL if the Resistance to keep cool automatically starts at the character's Modifier Number.
Comment
For the character with serious anger management problems. Cheap and highly effective, but very hard to control at higher levels. Sprinkle on x2 or x3 damage for extra havoc. You might want to avoid those fancy-dress parties.
Rules for Modifier Box
* Adds free stones for Close Combat
* Free stones may not be shifted to defense
* Full-on gonzo attack
* May resist frenzy with stones of Intelligence or Concentration
I think it's okay, but resisting the frenzy is a little more complicated than I'd like. I may add an example later.
