Well, this is my current campaign I am running, and all of the players have access here, so I am not going to give away too much. But I thought some people may like the idea for a nice way to thrust the PCs into the Marvel universe right away.
In a nutshell:
1) characters attacked by hi-tech agents while going into a Yankees game. 2) the agents have a scanner and notice anyone with super powers, NOT just mutants. 3) as the fight is winding down, smoke fills the area, and Punisher comes to get them out through the sewers. 4) he says he has a problem that THEY need to solve for him. 5) in one of his sewer hideouts he turns over an injured man to them.... which they find out is Captain America. 6) he needs to get back to Avengers mansion... and tells them these high tech agents have attacked almost EVERY hero in the city. 7) upon fighting their way to the Mansion they find others there waiting for them. The mix is really up to you, but a few NEED to be there. .....a- Captain America obviously .....b- Iron Man since he has no powers .....c- Doctor Strange since he has no powers .....d- Professor Xavier .....e- Leech, who is supressign the powers of any mutants in the area and keeping them from showing on scanners 8) there can be more heros here, but between Doc Strange and Leech the area will be protected from the sensors 9) one of the scanners is reverse engineered, and the PCs now have a sort of radar detector to sense the sanners 10) their mission is to now go and rescue almost EVERY hero in the greater NY area
Now in my game this tech squad are actually agents working under the auspices of the Department of Homeland Security. ALL super beings have been secretly deemed potential terrorist threats, and are being captured/eliminated.
No one knows how high up these arders are coming from, but it seems like a new extension of Project Wideawake.
.... and thats how my campaign has started. This way the PCs will eventually meet MOST of the characters from the comics themselves fairly early. Then they may have options in the future like becoming Avengers, or forming their own group.

All that sounds awesome. You got a good cranium on your shoulders. Wish I could think of stuff like that!

Latest update, they 'hijack' a truck with a small scale fusion device generating a force field to contain what is inside. They meet the 4 guards in this truck, and also the 4 that pull up in 2 SUVs when they stop the truck itself. They fled the scene before the hover unit with 3 suits of power armor arrived.... in a minivan... which was um.... uh..... appropriated.
So who did they save?
Black Cat, Gambit, Jubilee and one man who they had no idea who he was. he said his name was only Nathan. After he asked them for all the details of what was going on, they notice he knew what they were thinking as he asked these questions without them even having to say a word.
And then he turned .... different... with a nice diamond between his eyes. They had freed Minster Sinister, and now he knew exactly evetrything and everyone involved. And then they all just forgot they had ever seen him.
And like that he was gone.
Yup, real decisions to make. they will often have to free supers indiscriminately. The good with the bad. Man, sometimes being a hero is about some really sucky decisions.

The idea is sound but I don't like it when people pick on Jubilee!Point me to who did this and I will destroy them!

Next session...... Things are no longer safe at the avengers mansion, and Reed has defenses at 4 Freedom Plaza, so they move there. As they are meandering around the place, in walks this gruff monstrosity of a man with a horrible attitude. Instantly no one likes Sabretooth, and he woudl have it no other way. Seems the other mutants went out to rescue some more, and saved Iceman and Sabretooth. Things seem real quiet as their discussion continues, and he revels in the look on the Morlocks faces as they saved him, their woudl be executioner of Marauder fame. One of the PCs then goes to check on the others..... Seems that was the last straw for Calysto, and her Leech and Caliban (also now joined by Trader) have decided they woudl fare better on their own in the sewers. They are leaving. Of course, taking Leech with them puts a real damper on the other mutants chances of survival. They eventually find Reed tied around a few chairs and barely conscious, courtesy of Sabretooth, and the defenses control panel ripped out. When questioned he says he wanted to have a little fun, and judging by the time he made the phone call, the HS Agents should be there within 20 minutes for him to play with. He only came along hoping to catch Wolverine here, but since he isn't around he now wants to vent over being captured and kill as many agents as he can before fleeing. He does not try to harm or keep the PCs however, and even let the Morlocks leave peacefully, and just ensures everyone he will settle up with them later. So the only course of action is for the PCs to leave. With Reed they flee into the city in a FF hover car, only to be pursued by fighter jets, and eventually more powered armor suits from the HS agents. After a neat trick going submersible, they are finally surrounded and Reed suggests they go peacefully at this point and try to learn more form the inside. POINTS missed by the players.... (will post them here since you all read it). 1- the bracelett that Trader used so his powers still worked when near Leech was picked up by Sabretooth. 2- Sabretooth never called anyone in. It was just a ploy to get people out of his way so he could let soemone into Reeds lab. That someone has a blue diamond on his forehead. 3- the fighters were only scrambled because after the FF members were freed, they HS agents went on alert for any vehicles of the sort. 4- the Morlocks would have put up a fight, but the building would still have been safe if they had found a way to keep leech there. With him there, Sinister would never show up. 5- for the first time, the capture of a known hero was witnessed by citizens. People on the boats and bridges SAW Reed being taken, so unlike the other times THAT is why this incident will lead to a trial. So in the end they know only one thing. Next time we play they will be on trial, and we will play out the courtroom scene and see if they can defend their position.

This is one of the coolest plotlines that I have ever seen. Hey !3ullseye you mind if I rip off.... um borrow some of your ideas, Mr. Sinister is my main villian in my campaign his plot is very similar to the one you are using for him.

Actually this might be used as a plot twist in my campain. I am currently running an exiles-esque campain, where I am going to start running a more twisted bigger style "king Hyperion" story (as none of them have read it), and after that i was looking for what to put them into next. This seems like a cool idea.
You defeintly have a good campain running.

here were 2 of us running games during this... and after I stoppedthe other GM ran for a few months. his story took us to be new students at an Xavier school newly founded in St. Louis... and one of us was a teacher.
A very cool plot where us moving in did not sit well with Viper, who helped start a plot to rid the St. Louis area of mutants entirely. I took his story, and added it to the end of mine basically... even though the plots didn't directly relate.
But fusing them together, then moving the timeline forward is how I came up with the new campaign I am running. It is in the other thread (Dawning Age) and actually bases the history on a few things that have happened in my game, and in his game...
And they don't know it yet, but also a Mutants and Masterminds game i ran a while ago ties in.
but yeah, it would actually be cool if someone based their game in the Seattle/portland area and had their heroes delaing with high tech armors units provided by the new Stark corporation there. Or maybe working in Mexico City to restore some semblance of justice to a completely ruthless city of millions.
if yo do, post the results in a thread here, and maybe we can get a virtual world to exist form it, and events in each others games can carry over or be news items for the other games. The other GM was real big on starting every session with a headlines and breaking news report, which was great. and what woudl be better than hearing about a villain defeated in Tampa by a group of heroes who just might be someone elses playgroup.
Also note.... game system need not be a limit. The origin of this was Mutants and Masterminds... i continued it indorectly in MURPD, my friend had a completely unrelated game in MURPG, and now I am tying all that together... and running it in Champions (yeah yeah, I know I know). So as long as it fits the world view, maybe we can break this into it's own section of the forum and actually have the gaming reports posted for the toher sectors to use as info in their active games.

I think that having other people's campaigns making the news in other games would be a very good idea. Feel free to send me any fo your groups newsworthy deeds !3ullseye.
