Okay, I face this situation: New York blew up, killing most of the heroes living in there, and now: Since I know very little about Avengers, which ones YOU, as a GM would spare? And do not worry Captain America and Thor are safe... For now

I'd want Wolverine, Spider-Man, DareDevil and Luke Cage to survive Spider-Woman, Sentry (especially Sentry) could die and I'd not be upset. Iron Man I could lean either way on. He's cool, but anyone could replace him if they got the armour. Sphynx

From The current ruster I'd definitly spare Spider-man and Wolverine
From Former Rosters I'd Spare Scarlet Witch Vision She-Hulk Captain Marvel (Photon) Firestar
That's about it
No Thor No Cap No Wasp
and no Hawkeye

This is waaay late; but, I wouldn't spare Thor. I would want Cap, Cap. Marvel, Beast and Iron Man still alive though.
Don't know much about their new rosters to help you much...

Thor was saved (mostly)because he is such a good hook for Asgardian campanig, plus a player wrote him as deadly enemy...

Yep, me too! Especially when player took Recostitute Self, and spent some time with background. It was awesome: Killed by Thor five times, buried alive, genocided werewolves etc... Too bad we most likely won't be playing him again. It went...Nuts.
After I put Sabertooth,Wolverine,Omega red,Lady Deathstirke (all at once) against them and they walked (literally) over their mangled corpses,we figured it is better to move on.
But anyways, thank you all for your answers.

I'm not hep to the "New Avengers" New Avengers Line-Up: Captain America (Or at least Bendis’ incompetent version of him) Iron Man (First Bendis made Scarlet Witch evil, then Quicksilver, and now its Tony’s turn) Luke Cage (Bendis has a man-crush on Power Man) Ronin/Echo (Think of a female Taskmaster with no hearing or personality) Sentry (He’s like DC’s Superman…okay, he’s more like DC’s Triumph but you get the point) Spider-Man (The wildly out of character version) Spider-Woman (The boring original version. Not to be confused with her various boring successors) Wolverine (Though he doesn’t actually do anything except pick fights with Aunt May and Spider-Man and hit on MJ) The scary part is that leaked parts of the upcoming Mighty Avengers line-up are even less appealing. It seems all the halfway decent characters are either dead (I wouldn’t put it past Bendis to kill Hawkeye a third time), imprisoned, deported, crazy/evil/brainwashed, ect by the time CW ends.

Hmm...reminds me of when DC let Gerry Conway ruin the Justice League of America back around 1984. Anyone remember Vibe, Gypsy, Steel, and Vixen replacing those unnecessary characters like Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman? What a great move that was!

I know you’ve already said you stopped reading comics, well, apparently a few years before I started (you said it’s been 20 years, right?) but you’ll probably be happy to know that the Justice League Detroit era is still infamous in its awfulness. Everyone knew exactly what Steve Englehart was talking about when he said that he was going to revisit the “worst era in the JL” in JLA: Classified as an exercise in trying to prove that there’s no such thing as a bad character. I can’t say the story in question really did a very good job in proving the point but I can think of a few writers (like Birds of Prey’s Gail Simone) who have made Gypsy and Vixen pretty cool. As for Vibe and 80s Steel…well I think it says a lot when the characters were killed about 20 years ago and no one ever bothered to resurrect them. Then again, my favorite League is Giffen’s International era (which happened when post-Crisis editorial politics forbid the use on most of the originals) so what do I know As for the New Avengers, well I like that Spidey is there and Captain America is a given (though I don’t care for the writers’ characterization of either) but the Avengers just aren’t the Avengers without Thor and the Avengers aren’t Avengers worth reading without Hawkeye. So anyway, back on topic, “THEY MAY LIVE BUT THE OTHERS MUST DIE!”

Sigh, I know this is old, old topic, but since I face pretty much same dilemma :-[I did not create a new thread. Heroes have been semi organized by a wealthy billionare, who was worried about a) heroes getting killed b) villains being more organized, more ruthless (and more appealing to young supers pondering what to do with their power) than heroes So he set up the Guild (basically the Avengers, who co-operate with X-men, with few others, like Ghost Rider and Blade). He chose few key heroes that had/have leverage on others (Captain America,Thor, Hawkeye etc.) They formed team who trained, analyzed and policed other supers. Now, Guild has taken severe blows: New York is pretty much in ruins, new, untrained,un-organized and un-identified (=Are they heroes or villains or something else) Most of the NYs best are gone now, few examples: -Thor was killed in Asgard, -Spider-man was (seemingly) killed in action, -Fantasic Four had a break up -Captain America is dead. -Scarlet-witch was crippled -Quicksilver is insane Now, the big question. which ones would you choose to be the new leaders of all the heroes in NY? You have all the guys in all books (including Spider-man's Guide), and feel free to mingle with DC. I currently have Batman,Superman and Lobo lurking in the shades, so feel free to give ideas. I have hit a severe wall here! I currently have decided that: -Players have a voicein Guild -Most of the x-men won't get involved Help? Pretty please?

i make a story just in disassemble. And were most hero and velain were killed in the end, not by scarlet witch but by Kang. The other are in custody. But Dr Doom save the day and want to be a avengers and leadershiping them. So : Leader MDJ : Doom Member : Beast Invisible Woman Songbirds Thing Tigra Wonder Man Reserv member : Arcahnée/Spider Woman II Domino Iceman (also reserv member of X-men)
