Okay, this is getting seriously annoying. It seems like every time I try logging on since the last two days, I can't and that 'Secure Connection Failed' thing pops up. I didn't change anything, didn't install anything, didn't go on any weird website or anything... what the heck? Seriously, am I the only one having that problem? Aaaaaand of course, the second I post as a guest, it lets me log in, but not a second before, as though it 'unlocked' access to the board for me. Seriously, what in the world is going on... -___-;

Not me. Perhaps since you know about that 2+2=Fish incident and I don't, proboards considers you some kind of a security risk, but not me. I'm just here minding my own business, playing Connect Fish, reading the Fantastic Fish and listening to The Fish Tops.

Check your firewall settings. Are you running an IP Blocker? Are you logging in from a public node that might be blocking the connection?

My antivirus is active and automatically scans every few hours, nothing new there. Haven't touched my firewall settings, and everything was fine until two days ago. I don't even know what an IP blocker is, and nope, logging in from my personal computer at home on my regular connection.

As to what might be going on, my guess 'd be somewhere flipped a "secure log in ?" flag. Meaning that as long as you are logged in noone else can log in your account. Not that that realy does all that much to help since anyone loggin in while you're off 'd still get in but meh, I didn't come up with this. (at least that's how I think it works). Now Problems start when the system doesn't notice when you "log off", which normaly you didn't need, and therefore never did actively, cause realy, why should one. So when you then get back to the page, and (automatic or not) try again to log in you get this crap. So problem could be either on this or your side that notices/not notices your logging in/offs and does random mathematics to figure out that 2+2=fish equasion. Had the same problem with gmx for quite a time, which prevented me from loggin in after "not logging off". Temporary fix was switching to a different browser, long term fix was waiting till "they" fixed it. Long babble short, yup clearing the cache can help, so can switching the browser, logging off manualy each time you quit, Waiting for an update of whatever software caused the bug in the first place.

Um, what? =) I'm not sure I follow at all here. First, I always logged off before (and still do now) when I leave my computer for any extended period of time. Second, if I did quit without logging off (ex: my computer crashes), when I would come back it would say that I am logged off, but that 'Manah is online'. So it basically gave the illusion to others I was online when I really wasn't. That was the only problem I ever got out of it, and to correct it I'd simply log on, and then I really am there, and voilĂ . Also, accidentally closing the browser without logging off happened fairly often in the past, yet that dumb Secure Connection thing only happened four times in the last three day. Never before... ...So this morning it didn't do it. I'm guessing clearing the cache was the way to go? Yay for me, and thanks to Ushima.

Phone died and then I lost it. Found it now. Sorry for scaring anyone into thinking I left again. That's acceptable. Apologies are also due on my end. You may or may not remember me, but I was pretty active at one point until I was robbed. But now I return, better than ever.
