"I'd offer you chapstick, but I don't know if it's big enough," ventured Spider-man.

The newly free Wasp flitted her wings as she looked around. Cap, She-Hulk, and Starfox looked ready to leave - no doubt to engage one or two of the villains with whom they had recently clashed. If Janet had learned anything since partnering with Hank and later helping to form the Avengers, it was that loose ends had a way of unraveling further.
"Cap! Try to capture whoever you can - I know those guys were tough, but let's see what we can do!" Turning to the Scarlet Witch, Janet continued. "You too, Wanda. Your hexes have trouble with technology, and the last thing we need right now is more of that. Good luck!"
As she had expressed her wishes, the Wasp had darted towards the control room where their ally Spider-Man was making his presence felt. She hovered alongside his microphone to speak to Captain Marvel.
"CM! You're doing a great job so far - just keep at it and we'll be ready to wrap this up!"

Action 1: 3 stones into Leadership (2 to Captain Marvel's Mastery of Energy; 1 to Captain America's Leadership, which he can allocate to his group as he sees fit) Action 2: 1 stone into Flight to go to the microphone

EDIT: changed "Steve" to "Cap." Not sure if the other Avengers knew Cap's identity yet.

It sure did. The reactor is shutting down. Project Pegasus is saved! Later, at Avengers Mansion...Spider-Man discovers that when the Avengers build a headquarters, they don't mess around! This place has more levels than he imagined! Meanwhile, across the chamber from the others, Cap and the Wasp open a direct video-link with the National Security Council... "Yes, Agent Gyrich is still on special assignment. What can I do for you?" Mr. Sikorski asks. [OOC: Don't feel too badly about letting Moonstone, Blackout and Electro get away. She-Hulk leans back and relaxes, even as she listens to Cap and Wasp talk to Sikorski.

Jan was just a little tired from the quinjet flights, but was refreshed to see Raymond Sikorski on the screen. She had gotten used to Gyrich, and he had always been...unpleasant. He certainly wouldn't have agreed to what she was about to propose. Sikorski she wasn't sure about...
"Mr Sikorski," she began firmly, perhaps drawing strength from Captain America's mere presence, "We've just returned to the Mansion from Project: Pegasus. We'll send you a full report on the action, but for now we have a question. While we were there, we came across the timely help of Spider-Man. He had arrived at the Mansion earlier to ask about joining, and followed us there when we left. To be honest, I'm not sure if everything would have turned out all right if he hadn't come along: his powers and scientific knowledge were both crucial to our success. As chairperson, with the majority backing of the team, I request that Spider-Man be allowed to join the Avengers as a trainee."

Captain America, often a bit on edge when dealing with government men, leaned back in his own seat, attempting to appear casual. Despite his... attempts at humor... he really was a valuable asset on this mission. I believe he could benefit us greatly, Sir.

Spider-man quietly stewed as this Sikorski guy who had no idea who he was judged him. Thanks to JJ and his stupid agenda, my public reputation is in doubt. And because that lousy editor always underpays me, I'm hardly able to make ends meet. How am I going to pay for Felicia's hospital bills on what I make? That's why I decided to take up Thor's offer in the first place! Well Spider-man wasn't about to allow people to keep dumping on his reputation without speaking up about it.
"It may be true that I get some bad press from certain quarters. But you can't believe everything you read." Spider-man paused to gather his thoughts before continuing. "But even if you DID believe what you read, I think your file would also show that I've sent plenty of villains to the slammer, including Rhino, The Lizard, and Electro, to name a few."
He continued, "So whether you 'like' me or not, I have PROVEN effective at putting away the super powered villains that threaten the public safety."
Spider-man added, "And if I'm not mistaken, two of those villains I mentioned are on the loose right now. My extensive experience with fighting them could come in handy to help in recapturing them."
And finally Spider-man closed by appealing to Sikorski's pride. "Of course if you're really convinced that I don't have what it takes to make the Avengers, shouldn't your beliefs be borne out by me flunking out of the training program in the first week or so? And if I happen to prove you WRONG, and I do make the roster? What have you lost? Nothing, you've gained a capable member to send out on missions. If you remain so adamant about not giving me a chance, you would lead the people here to believe that YOU think I just MIGHT prove you wrong." Spider-man sat down and let the others think that over. He wasn't the best public speaker but he hoped to appeal to their heads in this case. Spider-man had said his piece, and if it didn't work out, he'd just have to take on a second job delivering... pizza or something.

(Wow and hear I was thinking of something to post just to see I was skipped over with out even a note that I was being skipped over. well I have nothing to do this panel either so I won't post.) Sorry, the goal of the Daily Bugle is to post daily whenever possible. Therefore, the game sometimes moves forward before every player has a chance to post. As for posting now... Wanda would be concerned about the current state of her husband, the Vision, who is currently in a comatose-like state. I hope that helps. Also, as an FYI: The Rhino was captured, just Electro, Moonstone and Blackout got away.

Wanda Arrives at the medical unit portion of the mansion, where her husband was being taken care at. She heads over to his room and looks for the medical staff that was looking out after him so she could see how he was doing and if there has been a change in his condition. Also she hoped that they where not doing any invasive test so that she might spend some time with him. ------------- Health: 3/3 Energy: 9/9

The Scarlet Witch excuses herself to check with Jarvis on her husband's condition. Unfortunately there has been no change. The Vision remains confined to the life-support-tube where he's been since he was injured trying to end the threat of Annihilus.* Meanwhile, despite Spider-Man's outburst, the National Security Council still won't approve him. They'll approve Starfox, a guy from outer-space, but Spidey's own government won't approve him. Maybe if Captain America makes a personal appeal to the President... Naw, Spider-man joining the Avengers prior to 2004, Brian Michael Bendis and Wolverine was a dumb idea. But I'll tell you one thing... the webslinger's congressman is definitely gonna hear about this! "Congressman?" Starfox asks, scratching his head. "What on Earth is a congressman?"[*Avengers #233] Congratulations on Completing Meltdowns and Mayhem!
