I am helping LordZack with the Guide to Wolverine. These are the stats I have come up with so far. i thought I'd better post them here for criticism and comment:
I thought it was best to start off with the first creature that Wolverine ever fought in the comics.
Character Name: Wendigo
Secret Identity: (Several people have been the Wendigo)
Species: Cursed Human
Eyes: Red
Hair: White
Weight: Unknown
Height: 10’
Abilities:
Intelligence: 1
Strength: 9
Agility: 3
Speed: 3
Durability: 6
Actions:
Close Combat: 2
(Strength or Weapon Modifier)
- Claws
- Fangs
Hunting: 5
- Wilderness Survival
- Follow trail
- Trace scent
- Stalk
- Hunter
Ranged combat: 1
(Weapon modifier)
- Thrown objects
(He is too large and stupid to use more sophisticated weaponry)
Modifiers:
Ancient Beast, huge white-furred creature with a lizard-like tail
Toughness (+6)
Animal senses: (4)
Claws/Fangs (+2)
Tail (+3)
Accelerated Healing Factor:
Heal 1 white stone per 2 panels. Regenerates 3 red stones Per 2 white stones per panel.
Invulnerable to Cold
Invulnerable to Disease
Mental Defence (+3)
Unable to talk
Background:
The history of the Wendigo is steeped in blood and dark deeds. A cursed creature from the Canadian wilderness, the Wendigo is an animalistic savage doomed to roam the land in search of food. The curse of the Wendigo is that anybody who reverts to cannibalism while in the Canadian Wilderness may become the Wendigo, although there can only be one Wendigo at a time. The Wendigo is an insensate creature that will kill anything in its path. Many superheroes have tried to put an end to it, including Wolverine, Alpha Flight and the Hulk, but there are always lost and starving travellers that are willing to submit to the temptation to eat human flesh…
The Wendigo is an immense creature with great strength and toughness. It has a healing factor almost as good as Wolverine’s and a terrific resistance to extremes of cold. The mindless nature of the Wendigo makes it difficult for Telepaths to control and it appears to be entirely immune to disease. It has many animal traits, including a powerful sense of smell, vicious claws, fangs and a long tail.
The most recent Wendigo is the ancient French sorceror, Mauvais, who was also a sinister creature who gained magical powers by eating his foes. By eating those with superpowers, Mauvais was able to steal their abilities, and he was able to feast on the living heart of the previous Wendigo. Perhaps because of his magical abilities, Mauvais retained the ability to talk and to cast spells, making him the most dangerous Wendigo yet. After a titanic battle with Wolverine and Alpha Flight, the Mauvais-Wendigo was banished to a netherworld watched over by the great beasts of Canadian myth. Whether he will succeed in escape from this prison remains to be seen.
The Wendigo is one of the ancient beasts of Native American legend, a dreadful punishment for the crime of cannibalism. It is difficult to say whether some remnant of the man it once was looks out of its inhuman eyes and screams soundlessly in horror at what it has become. It hunts.
And now, Mister X…

Background:
Mister X is an enigma. On the surface, Mister X would appear to have it all. He is incredibly rich, handsome and charismatic with amazing mutant telepathic powers and a body that he has honed to physical perfection. But on the inside, Mister X is a bored and unfulfilled man. As a child he had rich, doting parents and anything he wanted was instantly provided. Because of this Mister X was a spoilt and self-indulgent child. However, one day he came across a woman who had been hit by a car. She was grievously injured and Mister X witnessed her death. This event awakened his latent telepathic powers, and he experienced the sensation of death in the woman’s mind. This was the most exciting thing he had ever experienced and, compared to this, everything else seemed dull. He began to kill more and more people simply to revel in the thrilling feeling of their deaths.
Mister X then found that even this was not enough for him. He needed to hunt the hunters. He needed to be the best. He travelled the world, training under the greatest masters of the martial arts in existence, learning to master almost every weapon, studying furiously until he was capable of defeating the ones who had trained him. Only then could he hunt down those who professed to be the best at what they did… and destroy them. If they were good enough he allowed them to live as part of his elite force of assassins. If they were not good enough then he killed them. To this end, Mister X erased all records of his life, sold all his property and then vanished as if he had never existed. Only then could he pursue his goals without interference.
Mister X is an incredible warrior, capable of even defeating Wolverine. He can read the minds of other warriors and counter every move they make. He has an arsenal of weapons and armaments and he has a vast personal fortune. He has a number of spies and contacts in the government and the secret services, meaning he can find out almost anything he wants to. He has pushed his body past normal human standards, and as such he is a match for even the greatest of superhuman fighters.
After his recent defeat by Wolverine, Mister X has once again retreated, vanished without a trace. All Wolverine knows is that this foe will return when the time is right, and that when he does there will be a reckoning.
Notes:
I accept that Mister X's stats are fairly problematic. My interpretation of Wendigo is based on what I have seen of it in the comics, so the toughness is lower than some people thought it should be.
