He grew up afraid for his life, feeling helpless against the many criminal gangs in town, unable to do anything against them. Until one day... As he was walking in the streets, eager to get back home safely and thinking about how much he would like to be already there, it happened for the first time of his life. As he thought about it, he was there - instantly. At first, he thought he had lost track of time, or was lost in his thoughts or something... but it happened again. The next day, as he was thinking about getting to school, there he was. Next to it anyway. He started realizing that something was wrong with him. His parents had noticed, as well... and then soon explained to him what was happening. They had kept it a secret from him until that day, but he was actually an adopted child... he had been left on their doorstep years ago. Whoever his parents were, they were not normal folks. And he had inherited part of their power. Keith could teleport. When he learned of his newfound power, he took a decision. He would train. He would become better, stronger... so that he could use his power to accomplish what the cops couldn't. He would keep the streets safe, he would protect the innocents... and he would punish the guilty. So he trained, and trained, and trained some more, learning martial arts and many other skills as well, anything he needed to fight crime. At the same time, he studied to become a Private Investigator, both because he was a fan of old detective movies and because such a job would probably give him plenty of time for his less legal activities, as well as allow him to do a lot of research on both the world he could now explore freely and on the criminals he wanted to bring to justice. He easily succeeded, and created his own "Private Eye" office. When he wasn't helping people in a good old "official" P.I way, he was out in the streets, dressed with a black trenchcoat, his face covered by a white mask to hide his identity, and carrying an arsenal of weapons with which to fight crime. He called himself Blackjack, because of his "calling card" habit of leaving a Jack card pierced by a single bullet hole on any unconscious villain he leaves for the cops to pick up.

A mysterious group called the Agency was working on a special project, codenamed "Project Delta", attempting since several years to bring a human being back to life (and at the same time, turn him/her into their own little loyal super soldier) using technology, and they were about to succeed. It was the fifth time they attempted this, and finally, they succeeded. Since the woman's name was Jennifer and this was their fifth attempt, they decided to codename her Jen-5. They trained her in several combat programs and the use of her implanted weapons, in intimidation techniques and combat tactics. They teached her how to use her new cybernetic abilities and powers, and they explained her how her programming was working and what she was allowed to do and not do. She was given a new name, Jenny Dawns, and was sent into New York to "work as a school nurse" again (a mere cover for her real job, fighting crime every time she could and take down as many of those so-called supervillains as she could). She was to fight them on her own, and she would obey whatever order the Agency would send her way on the behalf of the Government. Unable to refuse or resist her programming, Jen-5 had no choice but to obey... and who cares? She was even starting to like the idea of being some kind of super agent for the Government...

Needless to say, he had little to worry about money-wise. His own personal wealth bordering on one quarter of a million bucks, he felt little need to find a job despite his incredible intellect, and he choose to travel around the world instead. It was about then when he first noticed that something was different... unusual. Something was wrong with him... or was it? His mind seemed so much clearer than before... As his driver was bringing him to the airport, he watched him drive... and almost instantly, he knew how to drive. Like he had years of experience. Not only that, but he could also remember every single word of the book he had read the day before... When he was at the airport and sent his driver back home, he turned towards the plane he was supposed to travel to America with, thinking about how eager he was to get there... and before he knew it, there he was, at the airport of New York, exactly like that picture he had seen of it in his computer. What was happening?! That's when he realized... he was one of them. A mutant. It all made sense now... the driver, the book, the big "travelling without plane and instantly" thing. He was a mutant, nothing less. Soon he realized that he could teleport to any place he had already been, any place he could see or any place he had a decent (and recent) picture of. He also noticed that his mind allowed him to retain almost any information he could learn like the best computer could. Last, but not least, he could do almost anything he saw done before him. Someone juggling? He could juggle. Someone doing backflips? He could do backflips. Someone practicing kung fu? He could do kung fu. It was like Neo from the Matrix, only he didn't need someone to drive a cable in his head to learn instantly what he saw. It was astonishing! He strarted by visiting several countries, like he initially intended to (only, he did it for free, because he only needed a picture to get there instead of a plane ticket). He went to Canada, France, England... even China, and he quickly learned the native languages and many things about their culture, thanks to his now enhanced mind. But after a while, he realized that he could do so much more... like those heroes he saw and heard about so frequently. He had abilities that nobody else had... he could use them for the greater good. His father would never approve of that... and besides, he didn't even know of his son's powers... but who cared? All he had to do was a cool costume, get a few accessories here and there... And so he did. He made himself a suit, and invented a name that suited him. "Warpmind". Warp for his ability to teleport, which reminded him of the "Warp Speed" from Star Trek... and "Mind" because of his enhanced memory and ability to learn anything he saw. Now, all he had to do was to see people fight and... well, be heroes... and he could become one of them. One of their best, even... if not the best. Until then, he only needed to be careful, and to outsmart his foes. Besides, he was already in very good shape, and he was fast and smart enough to take care of himself in a fight. The good thing was... he could only become better.

Coerced into developing a powerful weapon in exchange for a life-saving operation, Stark and a fellow prisoner instead built an electrically powered suit of iron armor. "Iron Man" was equipped with heavy weaponry and a pacemaker-like device which enabled Stark's damaged heart to keep beating. Wearing the armor, Stark defeated his captors and escaped. He devised the cover story that Iron Man was his paid bodyguard. Until recently, when he "went public", Stark led a double life: as Tony Stark, industrialist, he financed the Avengers; as Iron Man, he was one of its founding members. He fought many supervillains and thwarted many foes threatening humankind, and has been one of Earth's greatest heroes for years. However, for all his intellect, his wealth, his success and his will to do what's best, Stark was still only human... and thus he made mistakes. Many mistakes, in fact, and some very serious ones. Tony Stark is a genius who is responsible for numerous major discoveries, inventions and other achievements in various areas of technology. Over the years, Stark has often refined the design of his armor. At first, he needed the armor's chest-plate to prevent the shrapnel from stopping his heartbeat. Later, he had an artificial heart that gave him mobility and freedom, although he still needed to recharge the heart. A few years after that, he successfully received a heart transplant and is now in better health than ever before. His latest upgrade of the Iron Man armor included a special nanomachine technology that repaired his armor even faster and hydraulic systems that allowed him to move with more ease and faster than before, among other things.

His father was a well-respected nuclear scientist who died when Charles was very young, and his mother later married her late husband's science partner Kurt Marko, who quickly moved in with his son, Cain. Unfortunately, Marko was only interested in her money, and he started neglecting Sharon and her son and abusing both Charles' mother and stepbrother. It is around that time that Charles' telepathic powers appeared for the first time, as he accidentally read Cain Marko's thoughts about his insecurities and his pain. When Cain learned of his stepbrother's power, he hit him and told him to never get into his head again, or else. Xavier didn't suspect this at first, but at that moment, he had made an enemy deadlier than he could suspect. A few years later, Charles' mother Sharon died as well in an accident, and Kurt Marko lost his life dragging the two boys out of the house before his lab exploded. Cain left, blaming Xavier for the death of "his parents", and leaving Xavier an orphan and the sole inheritor of his parent's wealth. Depressed by the turn his life had taken, Xavier decided to join the military forces. To his surprise, that's where Cain Marko had ended up as well, but the man was a much less good soldier than Xavier was... yet again. Hating his brother for being better than him at everything he did, Marko decided to desert his unit and disappear during an expedition in Korea. Xavier followed him into the cavern he hid in to try to convince him to return to the army, only to see him buried alive under tons of rocks after grabbing a mysterious gem in the cavern. He had no choice but to run for his life, and thus apparently lost the only "family" that he had left. When his military service was completed, Xavier left for Cairo, in Egypt, in order to see new places, learn new things nad meet new people, to forget a bit about the past. Once there, he met and befriended a young kid named Ororo Munroe, and found an evil crime lord going by the name of Amahl Farouk. To his surprise, Xavier discovered that the man was a mutant like him, and a powerful telepath like he himself was... and that he was using those powers to cause havoc and to steal and murder people. Xavier found him, fought him, and he won... barely. He had no choice but to fight at his maximum power, and that meant death... so he choose the lesser of two evils. He could let him alive and kill and steal as much as e wanted or he could bring an end to him. It's about that time when he swore to use his powers to protect humankind from evil mutants... and also to find other mutants and protect them from human oppression, because it was a definite possiblity that humans wouldn't understand, at least not without his help, the differences between humankind and mutantkind. He had to show them. A while later, Xavier went to visit an old friend, Daniel Shomron, who runs a clinic for traumatized holocaust victims in Haifa, Israel. That is where he met and befriended Erik Lensherr, a volunteer in the clinic, and where he saved from a catatonic coma a young woman named Gabrielle Haller. The two fell in love, and Xavier and Lensherr quickly become good friends, although they did not reveal their powers to each other immediately. Only when Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker and his HYDRA agents kidnap her do they reveal their mutant abilities, and they decided to unite their strength to rescue their friend and Xavier's love. Against their combined might, HYDRA is easily defeated, but Gabrielle decided to leave Israel and him, not aware that she was pregnant with their child, who would later become David Charles Haller, the mutant known as Legion. Gabrielle and Xavier left each other in good terms, and Xavier and Lensherr had now all the time they needed to plan their future... as X and Magneto. As arguably the most powerful telepath in the entire world, Xavier can manipulate and read minds, project his thoughts into another person's own mind, and alter the memories of people. He can damage the mind itself, and repair it, and he learned to project his mind into the astral plane for various effects. Recently, he has been able to move objects using his powerful mind, but he seldom does so, preferring to focus on his telepathy because of it being a power easy to hide to non-mutants when used with wisdom. Aside his mutant powers, Xavier has his military training and over-average athletic built. He is in excellent shape and knows several fighting techniques from his days in the army. He knows how to handle a gun as well, but considers firearms a lowly weapon when compared to one's mind and diplomatic skills. Last but not least, Xavier is a renowned genius despite his young age, and is pretty much the world's authority already on all matters about mutantkind. He is a very skilled geneticist, and has already written over half a dozen of books about genetics and mutation. He has discovered what he calls the "X-Gene", which he believes to be very important in what makes someone a mutant and what doesn't. Although his interest in genetics and mutations is widely known, no one is aware of him being a mutant himself.

Etna tries to be (and often is) a vile, merciless, cruel, cold and deadly demon lord as often as she can. However, she still has a big soft side and will often go out of her way to help people. She has a very complex personality, and no matter how hard she tries to not admit it, she's a nice person deep down. She likes cute things, sweets and beautiful and powerful and mature men. She hates immature kids, bullies and working when she could make someone else work for her... even though she doesn't laziness from her prinnies and even though she often bullies them herself. Despite her immense powers as a demon lord, Etna will only very rarely fight seriously, often preferring her fists, her Anime powers and her wits to win battles (or sending Prinnies into the fray to fight for her) over using her Longinus, her devil magics and her Chaos Impact ultimate power. Her favorite tactic is usually to send her prinnies ahead, then grab one of them and throw him, hopefully creating an explosive chain reaction. ^_^

Their purpose in existence is to work either under Angels or Demons' order to either atone for their sins or gain enough money to pay for the right to be reincarnated. That work often takes the form of being a servant, a slave or a soldier (sometimes all three) to a powerful angel or demon. The Prinnies under Etna's command, for example, are known as the "Prinny Squad", and usually serve her only out of fear. She frequently unleash her fury on them or use them as chairs, etc. Some of them have come to respect her, but most are simply way too frightened to do anything against her will. On the other hand, they tend to be a bit lazy and often pay the consequences.

[glow=red,2,300] MARDUKEThe Whisperer[/glow] Appearance/Personality/Story: This being appears as a tall, apparently angelic androgynous creature with purple skin and glowing, pure-white eyes and no ears. Its face is covered by a broken metallic mask (despite being broken, the pieces do not fall of the face, and the mask seems to hold by itself) with a very neutral expression. The being has four arms and is dressed in a long, black gown, covered with several grey chains, and its lower arms are chained to its legs. Although its higher arms are chained together, it can still move them somewhat. On its back can be seen two pairs of large, black wings, with every feather being at least 10 centimeters long. They are cold and metallic to the touch, like they were made of metal left outside for too long during winter. The being's whole body is covered in electricity at regular intervals and seems to be in pain, yet it does not make any other sound that the rattle of the chains and the whisper of his voice that, oddily, everyone seems to hear well no matter how far they are if he wants them to hear. It calls itself Marduke, the Whisperer, and he was amongst the fallen when Lucifer was cast down from the Heavens... now back once again to answer the call of Tenku Ishikawa's mind. Marduke is known as the Whisperer for a reason. Very calm, silent and mysterious, this fallen angel was casted into Hell for assisting Lucifer in his betrayal against the Heavens, and he paid a very high price for this. Once known as one of the fairest, swiftest and warmest angels of the seven Heavens, his punishment was to forever be cursed with the opposite. His face was horribly scarred and twisted, his body was chained to a pillar in Hell and his gentle warmth was replaced by the freezing cold of the darkest caves of hell. His wings were turned into dark steel, enhancing the cold to untold levels. Millenias later, the archangel Michael offered him a chance to atone for his past sins by becoming the soulmate, the Persona of the Chosen One in the battle against the darkness. Marduke accepted the offer, and Michael freed him from the pillar, and freed his wings from the chains. The Whisperer donned a mask to hide his scarred face, a broken dark steel mask to never forget where breaking his loyalty to the Heavens had brought him and the price he had to pay... and then Michael binded him to the Chosen One's soul as he was born. The chains have six "hands", made of claw-like "fingers", that may be used to grab objects from a distance or to attack his foes, and Marduke has the power to "grow" Dark Steel spines and blades out of the chains at every two inches or so, turning the chains into an even deadlier and fearsome weapon. If he did not have 5 LoEs, he loses what LoEs he had and that's it. He doesn't lose ANs already increased even if it was through LoEs). For exemple, he may not remember his former teammates and must go through that painful "hey man, nice to meet ya, what's yer name?" process all over again. CHALLENGES-Duty (-3; the Promised One. As the Promised One, Ash must act as a Promised One and carry out the job of the Promised One, which is to oppose and destroy the evil forces of the Necronomicon wherever and whenever it shows up and save the world and yadda yadda yadda... y'know, as a Promised One tends to do. This means that, sometimes, even the Man will screw things up, in a really bad kind of way. Additionally, this Challenge includes "Clumsiness" from the Spidey-Guide, which means every time Ash does something, if substracting one stone from his action made him fail, he fails by some kind of clumsy mistake. If not, no stone is substracted.) -Clown (-1; sometimes Ash just don't know when to shut up, and that includes his sense of humor. The Chainsaw can work for 50 panels on a full tank without stopping if used as intended (slowly and carefully, to cut down wood and stuff). Two panels worth of time are burned if used to mow down skeletons and demons (or people), because the engine has to work overtime to cut through those pesky bones and/or tough hides. If only one "panel of use" was left and Ash tried to cut a skeleton down with it (or another nasty), he'd only get +2 and no AP bonus as the gas runs out. Power of Sovereignty -This unique power is part of what makes the Demi-Fiend so dangerous. The Power of Sovereignty makes any deal or pact made with the Demi-Fiend entirely unavoidable, if it is anything near possible to accomplish it. In other words, if one agree to a pact made with the Demi-Fiend, even if that person fully intended to 'not' hold his end of the bargain somehow, the person will find himself unable to resist the urge to do whatever he can to accomplish his part of the deal, and will act accordingly. This, of course, does not forces the Demi-Fiend to hold his end of the bargain in any way. -Most of the time, the Demi-Fiend uses this power to gain the support and service of the demons he encounters. Of course, it can be used for many other kinds of deals. -This power does not grant the Demi-Fiend any bonus to convince a creature to make such a deal, however (not that he needs one... he's already incredibly convincing enough). The Demi-Fiend will usually buy, beat or negociate others into making a pact or deal with him. Wealth: 10+ -Incalculable; the Demi-Fiend receives anything he needs from the legions of Lucifer, and can have all the money he needs in a matter of moments. Basically, the world is his for the taking, and few can stop him. CHALLENGES-Looking non-human (-4; The Demi-Fiend bears very unusual markings over his body that looks like tattoos at first sight. His eyes are red and glow lightly in the dark, and has a single black horn in the back of his neck. He is surrounded by an incredible aura of power and menace, and his demonic might is almost palpable in the air around him. No one who gets at less than 20 meters from him can mistake him for anything human, unless he uses magic to hide his true nature and said aura.) -Haunted Past (-3; No matter how hard he tries to forget it, he was human once, and he witnessed the destruction of humankind without being able to do anything about it. This was hard on his mind, and sometimes he still suffers from survivor's guilt.) -Infamy (-3; in most worlds, Lucifer and most demons are perceived as "bad" and "evil", at best. As Lucifer's Chosen One, a Half-Demon and the war leader of the Legions of the Netherworld, the Demi-Fiend shares this reputation, despite it being half true only, at most.) -Paragon of Free Will and Chaos (-4; a mix of an "Obsession" and a "Duty" challenge. As the Chosen One of Lucifer, the Demi-Fiend lives, fights and safeguard free will and chaos wherever he goes, to the level of fanaticism. He is not evil per se, but he opposes order and law in any form it takes, with the one exception of the laws suggested by Lucifer and maintaining order in his demonic troops.) -Hatred and Prejudice (-2; against creatures/servants of Order and Law and those who try to control others by any means and who try to rob others of their free will and right to make a choice.) -Extreme Vanity (-1; although he is still very humble for a demon, he is Lucifer's General in his war against the Heavens, and is possibly the most powerful demon alive, in many, many different dimensions. In time and after his countless victories against so many opponents, the Demi-Fiend has started to understand that few are worthy of facing him in battle.) -Deadly Enemies (-5; countless, varied, and many. This ranges from other demons, servants of the Heavens, agents of Law and Order and so many others, all bent on bringing the Demi-Fiend's life to an untimely end.) -Severe Cruelty (-2; wether it is due to his demonic side, the atrocities he has witnessed or him caring less about life than before, the Demi-Fiend isn't afraid to destroy, torture and beat the hell out of his foes and those who oppose his ideals and that which he fights for.) -Compulsion to stick up for the underdog (-3; for all his darkness and his apparent nastiness, the Demi-Fiend will gladly protect anyone he sees endangered or threatened, especially people suffering from tyranny and beings who restrict their free will somehow. Of course, he certainly won't care as much if the person in need of help is someone who commit such "crimes" himself.) EQUIPMENT-Legions of demons and beings at his beck and call, mostly made of beings who made a pact with the Demi-Fiend -Countless wealth, artefacts of power, weapons and objects of many kinds kept in his various hideouts -Dozens of hideouts including castles, houses, buildings, in various dimensions and worlds -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STORY: Kashima Naoki was an average, but gifted high school student, interested mostly in video games and the occult, who became involved in "the Conception", basically the end of the world, while visiting his teacher, Yuko Takao, at an hospital. The Conception was a mystical event of unheard of importance which pretty much wiped out the entirety of humankind from the world, and turned Tokyo into a strange, dead "Vortex World", in between the death of the former world and the rebirth of the new one. His journey in the resulting Vortex World began once he was granted demonic power from a "Magatama" (mysterious demonic insect that transforms the host into a powerful, new form of demon) given by Lucifer (one of the greatest and most powerful demons in the Netherworld), who had noticed the young man before the Conception and recognized his potential to shape the future of the new world. From then on, he would be referred to as the Demi-fiend by many, having the body of a demon and the heart of a human. It was prophesied that the Demi-Fiend would play an important role in the creation of a new world after the Conception. Actually, it was more than only that. The Demi-Fiend was in fact the only one being who could shape the world into the future he wanted, and several choices were offered to him. He could, for example, remake the world into a place where only the strong survived, or make the world into a place where every single person ruled over his or her own paradise, alone and away from others... But in the end, the Demi-Fiend came to think that Lucifer's view of the world was the right one. Lucifer believed that Order and Law and those who upheld them were responsible for most of what was wrong in the world. Apparently, the Conception was an unending circle of death and rebirth created by the Agents of Order and Law under God, and it was meant to be only to control humankind and rob them of their free will... or so he told the Demi-Fiend. Armed with his resolve, demonic powers and renewed anger for the beings who were trying to trick him into following their so-called "unending" circle, the Demi-Fiend shattered the circle for good and refused to create the new world. Instead, he joined Lucifer as the demon general of his armies and led the assault against the Heavens. The rest, as they say... is history.

A deep connection with insects runs in Shino's family, as each person born in to the Aburame clan is infused with a special breed of insects known as "destruction bugs", or Kikai bugs, during birth. In exchange for using Shino as a hive and feeding on his chakra, the bugs do as he commands. During a battle, Shino directs his bugs towards an opponent, boxing them in without their knowledge and absorbing their chakra once they have been surrounded. Shino's merciless tendencies, in regards to opponents as well as his attachment to insects, have caused other characters to label him as "creepy". Recently, he was recognized as a Jônin rank ninja, but as he was walking home with Hinata and Kiba to "celebrate" (or so Kiba said), a huge white "gate" opened in front of him and he was sucked in by a powerful wind before his teammates or himself could do anything. Last thing he knew, he was... somewhere else... and he was alone. What had happened? ...only time could tell...

Im gonna say NO to few things on Shino's CAD. 1. Ninja 6? I stopped watching Naruto shortly after timeskip so I havent seen his new version, but really... Shino isnt a mastero of martial arts like, say, Rock Lee. Heck, the only time I saw him using fists or shurikens was in VIDEO GAMES! 2. Targetting +2? Why? 3. Fast draw +4? Coupled with Agility 6? If thats so, then tell me, in your opinion, how about TenTen? She's obviously ten times better with weapons then regular ninja (and about 20 times better then Shino, for that matter).
If you're using it for Goats multiverse game, then I dont want to be in it if that CAD gets through.

It's not for Goats game, so you may relax. 1. All Ninjas are taught Martial Arts (Taijutsu) as part of their basic training, and they all are able to (at least) easily beat down dozens of normal soldiers all by themselves. Shino rarely fights in close combat because he doesn't need to with his bugs, but that doesn't mean he can't. As for AN 6, it's because this CAD of Shino is for him 4 years after the events of Naruto Shippuden, and he's a Jônin at that time (not canon, I just decided that). You may disagree as much as you want, but Taijutsu is one of the three parts of the training of any Ninja and is the easiest to learn, so at Jônin level, he ought to be darn good at it. (and even if in Marvel, 7 is the level of the best Martial artists ever, I think it is clear that if, say, Kakashi fought Captain America, old cap would get his butt kicked in a very one-sdied battle.) 2. Because. Period. Ninjas in Naruto are all capable of hitting the Bullseye area of a target 30 meters away with a shuriken or thrown kunai, easy. Shino is not often seen throwing stuff around so I gave him "only" 2, which seems very fair to me. 3.It's Tenten's speciality, so I would give her +6 or so, but don't forget she uses a magical scroll to "draw" her weapons which makes it even faster. Ninjas in Naruto are often seen drawing weapons so fast we can't see their hands move, the shuriken kind of just "appears" in their hands and they throw them. I think you restrict yourself only by what you've seen in the show, ignoring things that are hinted at instead of clearly shown. According to what is explained in the training at the beginning, all Ninjas are taught techniques in the 3 categories: Taijutsu (physical combat), Ninjutsu (manipulation of elements, Sealing jutsus, healing techniques and control over one's environment) and Genjutsu (illusions, substitution jutsus, etc.). In other words, even one you see only use their speciality over and over again are supposed to be able to do a bit of everything else, only less well than a person who specializes in it. Only exception is Rock Lee... who is an incredible master of Taijutsu because he is unable to do anything else. The way I made Shino is, he can do all the basics at a good level because he's a Jônin in my story (the level Kakashi was at in the beginning of Naruto), he's particularly good with his Kekkei Genkai, of course, and he's good with the Earth element of Ninjutsu. Why? Because according to what I've read, every ninja is specialized in a single element, and I guessed Shino was closer to Earth due to his fascination with bugs. In other words, it is a older, more experienced Shino, made by looking outside the box and trying to understand the world of Naruto a bit more, instead of going only by the motto "what's on screen is, what isn't, isn't". Of course we don't see everything Shino can do... the show is called "Naruto", not "Shino"! Anyway, feel free to disagree, but for Shino at Jônin level and 4 years after the Shippuden series, I think it's perfectly fair and reasonable. EDIT: Wether you disagree or not, let's not start an argument here, this is an Archive thread, not a Discussion one. I respect your opinion, but if I wanted comments on him, I'd post him in "Conversions" with a "Comments are welcome" in the title, lol.
