You know, Slimer is supposed to be the ghost of John Belushi, right?

Really? I'd never made that connection.... Was it in an interview or something? Cause that would be a great tribute...

They talk about it on Wikipedia and I believe Dan Aykyroyd mentions it in one of the DVDs. He originally wrote the screenplay with Belushi and him in mind to star in it, but Belushi passed before this could happen. When he wrote the first ghost to be caught, he based it after Belushi's Animal House character. So Aykyroyd always refers to Slimer as John. The next time I watch my Ghostbusters DVD I plan on hearing the Commentary. I know Ramis is in it. I can't remember if Aykyroyd is, but if he is, I would be curious to hear if he calls Slimer John. I remember hearing this way before I saw it recently, but I don't know when. I am thinking it was around the time Ghostbusters 2 came out, but I am not sure.

I always thought that John Belushi thing was a joke, actually. You're probably right... however, I'm basing those CADs on the movies, the animated series and the video games, and they never mentionned Belushi anywhere in that. ^_^ They did mention he was some dead monarch that kept eating and eating 'till he died in the series, though.
