Trust me, I smoked a lot of pot in my day. You would plan to watch that video, but either you'd get distracted and do something else, or you'd be too lazy to get up and walk to the computer. Pot is wonderful stuff if you feel like you're too productive. One more reason not to do that. I don't need a reason to be lazy.

On the other hand, if you're already lazy, pot probably isn't going to make you any more lazy. But don't quote me on that.

But why take that chance? It might take away my last bit of productivity.

I dunno. It strikes me as the health issues involved should be more daunting than the lack of productivity. I mean, after a while, if you stop doing anything, you'll stop smoking pot too. That stuff is expensive.

Can't say Mary Jane and I ever had these problems. Different strokes for different tokes I suppose.

Ha!
My best friend has tried pot a few times, and she's one of the unlucky people who just gets incredibly paranoid and twitchy. She's normally a very anxious person, so maybe that was a pretty obvious outcome.

Okay, I just wanted to say one thing that has no bearing on what is now being discussed in this thread: WK, I'm glad somebody aside from me knows what Sound of Thunder is.

Okay, I just wanted to say one thing that has no bearing on what is now being discussed in this thread: WK, I'm glad somebody aside from me knows what Sound of Thunder is. I love classic SciFi. It's not my favorite genre, but my Grandmother had a whole slew of old SciFi books and magazines, and there wasn't much else to do at her house, so I absorbed a ton. Ray Bradbury actually used to have a Science Fiction magazine that, amongst other things, published some of his stories in parts. I have no idea who in my Dad's family was into it (I've asked around and never gotten any real answers)

Sound of Thunder was a story in one of my high school english textbooks. Loved that story. We just never actually covered it in the class.

The movie, sadly, wasn't as good.

Most movies made of books range from fair to bad. Some books just don't adapt well to the movie screen is all.

Unfortunately, the movie encompasses my experience of it. I've been on the hunt for the book for a while now, but have come up with zilch. Probably should try harder...also doesn't help that there's a sufficient lack to my funds, but whatever.
Were the characters more developed in the story than the movie? That was my main beef with the movie.

Wasn't the Sound of Thunder a short story?

Yep, short story. The movie was alright, but had virtually nothing to do with the movie, including the basic theme of the tale being told.
Another author also wrote some books called "Ray Bradbury's Dinosaur World" based on the world after the events of A Sound of Thunder. I have them somewhere.
