Meant to add that 3.5 is pretty well balanced, and to agree it has fewer holes than other systems. Like everything else, I'm sure you can min-max the crap out of it, but I haven't seen a lot of it when I used to play it.

By the way, I run a very rules light campaign IRL, and we have no rules arguments at all. We DO have lots of folks bashing each other for 'stupid' game decisions, but I think that's unavoidable. Indeed. I've never played a game where somebody didn't called an idiot at least once a session.

I have two players in my Friday game that make it a constant struggle.

Guess you just need to kill them and take their stuff.

Guess you just need to kill them and take their stuff. Doesn't help, they just make new characters and get more stuff

Was there a new guy somewhere in this thread? I mean... I read the first page but kind of lost it after the second two...
Besides, we all know that WWW is the best set of RPG rules ever made...
Welcome to the boards buddy! Seems like you have a good handle on the game. I would point you towards a recent set of magic rules floating around that let magic do anything at -2 AN and let it add 1 specialty per AN that it could execute at full AN. That might not have made the action perfect, but it went a long way towards balancing it.

There's a massive hole in your logic. Pathfinder, which is put together by a much smaller company than Wizards of the Coast, is currently crushing Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition. By making updated 3.5 product. I'm definitely not arguing with you at this point, WK, but it did seem funny to say so here I go: "That's because D&D 4th Edition sucks." (Actually I'm not sure it does for not having actually played it, but from what I've seen , I'll never play it)
It would probably have been better if they called it "World Of Warcraft RPG" and re-flavored it. ;D
...And you're right. Shutting up now. ^_^
