Hi guys This is Gspawn23. I have not been so great with keeping up with everyone. I do appoligies. Life stuff keeps popping up and kicking me when im trying to get back here.
Anyways I have run a few games here. And so far its been hit/miss.
I have now ask the Questions.
1: What would be a genre you guys like to play? 2: What system help both GM and Players so it can be more story/Or more action to keep players wanting to play the games 3: Are you more story driven or action driven.
I would like to be able to GM games for the site here but I don't know what exactly everyone here wants? I know life kicks in time to time. So its more hit and miss. Witch is why I ask you all here these questions. If I decide to run a game here I need to know what peak's interest. Cause if I don't know, I would think to fail at that on my part. It always good to here critiques and advice from those around here to help give me a better idea on how to be better.
Please do reply here. I would like to know your opinions on the matter

Not sure how much help I'll be but for me personally.
1: Mass crossover type games with no real limits on stones or powers.
2: Well for me the easiest answer would be MURPG but with less of an emphasis on hard numbers and keeping track of things, and more based on just using the stone's played as a reference and winging it in order to make the games go faster. (I'm easily the worst GM on this board, so I admit my opinions are a bit bad if you're looking for a hard serious MURPG game)
3: Honestly I am content either way. As long as the game is kept going at a reasonable pace I am easy to please.

My problem is that I'm not use to the stone system or should I say. Very inexperienced to run a game with the stones system to make an honest attempt. Witch is why I try out different systems here and see if it works and it dose not ruin narrative so much or is to dull players show little interest.

1. Have you seen how many worlds have been on here? my preference is hero type games of almost any genre. I want something to strive for..
2. MURPG is just the easiest to keep going very few alternate systems have worked.. that's not to say I don't think they cant.
3. a mix preferably but neither draws me more than the other.. except incases where I have abilities that are mainly geared towards combat and we never do combat -_- hate that... but that's never happened bad here.

True though to be fair I only try other systes just to try to also expand other players that there is more then MURPG itself. Though I get why its liked here Also its nice that for a character they want to strive to get to a goal and complete it

1. I think I play any kind of genre, I don't decide if a game (or anything else) interests me based on genre. 2. I'm not the rules expert, but after roleplaying for 20 years and being here for 5, I'd say that any system that keeps things moving. On play by post, unless made cleaner and quicker, things like opposed rolls tend to bog down the game. 3. Definitely story.

Well Like I say if I learned the stone system better I might be able to run a game that way but I kinda guess till then Im considering to use simpler systems where rolls would still be needed but less of them and more story driven.

It always good to here critiques and advice from those around here to help give me a better idea on how to be better. Please do reply here. I would like to know your opinions on the matter I can only speak for myself, but I rarely tire of the typical teenage drama stories, especially if they have some kind of twist to keep things fresh. A big thing for me is that I prefer to play original characters; playing an existing character feels too constraining to me, and most canon comics characters have such insane backstories that any game we play them in tends to pale in comparison to their past exploits anyway. Honestly, though, the most important part about a game is that the GM has to be passionate about it. If the GM isn't excited about the game, it's unlikely that the players will be either. I'm not entirely sure I understand this question; I think there's a bit of a language barrier going on. I agree with some of the other answers here that it's hard to go wrong with MURPG. The system is so fast and loose with the rules that it's generally pretty easy for players to get their heroes to do what they want to do, and for GMs to make it all work. I really love some aspects of Marvel Heroic, but it can be clunky and awkward in some ways, and it involves a lot of dice rolling - perhaps too much for a play-by-post game. When I run Marvel Heroic I hesitate to allow more than 3 or 4 players, otherwise combat will take way too long. I'm much more story driven, but I do like action, too. The key for me is that the action has to happen for a reason. Action for no reason is pointless and boring. The players have to care about what they're fighting about, and what the consequences of winning or loosing a fight might be. I find even people that make movies often don't understand this (it's one of the major reasons the Star Wars prequels fell flat) so it isn't easy. But it's something to strive for. A couple more tips from my experience: 1. Keep the ball rolling. Nothing ends a game more efficiently than too much time between posts. Players will get bored, make other commitments, forget what was happening in the plot, and just generally lose interest if there aren't regular posts happening. Post early and often. Make sure the plot is unfolding steadily. 2. Make sure you have the right party size. If there aren't enough players, there won't be enough interactions between characters. Too many players, and the game gets slow and confusing. I find 4-5 players is best, and personally I lean on the small size in my own games. But really it depends on the nature of the game and the system you use. 3. Keep players motivated. Make sure that players have goals for their characters, so that there's always something they want do, obtain, learn, or escape. Usually this means some sort of personal storyline for each character that runs in the background, parallel to the main storyline. It's a lot of work to set this up, but worth it. Hope that stuff is helpful! ~TWF

Well Here is my problem. I want to run a game were yes there will be dice but hopefully its not so bad. But at the same time there will be a story. A motive and a good reason to fight for. (At least in my opinion) It will be a odl school modueal. If any of you heard of Pathfinder: Rise of the Rune lords! You know what Im talking about. And instead of doing A long ass stat thing (Or cut that shit in half if not 3/4 at least) With a simpler system that will make the fighting move faster to get back to story. My goal is to get though fights asap to get back to story.
My plan is BESM version of the modulate. a 2d6 system that rules it all Simpler then D&D or Pathfinder itself (Trust me on that). There is always room for OC's And there is a flaw system (More like extra Points that allows me to make you the player/character have to overcome)
This is a game and story I have run 3X and all my players love it. And I would like to share it with 3-4 players.
