STORY: Helena James Moriarty was born in a wealthy British family to a real estate mogul father and a successful businesswoman mother. She could have been a simple rich brat dilettante, living very comfortably off the family's wealth alone, or choose to undertake studies for most any given career of her choice, and given her competences and talent, she would have likely exceeded the success of both of her parents put together. And as far as the world knows, it seems like that is the road she picked. She breezed through all academic levels at an incredible pace, achieving six different PhDs in less time it took most people to obtain one, along with several Master's Degrees. A bona fide unprecedented genius, the girl apparently had a wonderful future ahead of her as a very productive member of society. She's become a widely recognized scientifical authority in various domains, a successful businesswoman in her own right, and a general success in pretty much anything she has ever tried her hand at.
However, behind the scenes, she has, in fact, chosen to use her incredible skills, knowledge and intellect against the society which so highly sings her praises, becoming a criminal mastermind unlike anyone had ever seen before. What her parents, teachers and other people around her had failed to notice was how her superb intellect and unique talents had unfortunately developped alongside some fairly serious mental problems, including a major level of psychopathy, severe lack of guilt, remorse, and empathy, and an undeniable love for manipulating people around her like puppets, along with deeply-rooted moral insanity and narcissism.
It's the latter which caused her to dissociate the most with the rest of society, and embrace a life of crime. In her eyes, most humans were abysmally stupid - at least in comparison to herself - wasting their potential away in pursuit of useless and pathetic interests instead of improving what abilities they possessed, of working at negating what flaws they had. She saw modern society as a dying prehistoric entity, filled with so many flaws and weaknesses that it was a miracle it had not collapsed onto itself already. War, injustice, selfishness, greed, laziness, and so many others, were all cancerous tumors that humankind was only to happy to allow to grow in the collective body of their species without most of them giving a damn, because... why should they care? Until it affects them directly, it's not their problem, is it?
Politicians, celebrities, high-class nobility, companies' CEOs, the authorities, rich people like her parents, were all too happy to let people fall further into those pits of patheticness, as it served their interests far too well. They were untouchable, unreachable, invincible. Nothing could go wrong, because they were the top dogs, the highest on the food chain. Such is the established order. Them at the top, and the rest of the world below them. Or so they would love to think. But Helena Moriarty knows otherwise. Criminals operate outside the food chain, outside the known paths and the reach of society's enforcers, as long as they were skilled enough to stay one, or even several, steps ahead. Such an individual could act as the great equalizer. An agent of chaos in the so-called 'established order' those so-called untouchables were so proud to rule over.
She would act as that great equalizer. She would bring down those kings in their great towers, those lords gazing down at the masses below. She would drag into the light all the dirty little skeletons in their closets, expose all the rotten materials in their walls and basements, show for all to see the corruption, the nonsense and the weakness of those who think themselves incorruptible, sensible and invincible. She would show the world that if it truly cared about itself, it would have to change, because right now, it was rotten to the core. She would do all that and more...
