Well, it was nice while it lasted.
Reports indicate that negotiations between Sony and Disney over the future of their partnership have broken down over over - you guessed it - money.
The bottom line is that Sony is taking Spidey back to make films in their own universe. They might only have Tom Hardy's Venom for Spidey to play with so far, but they are working on adding Kraven the Hunter, Morbius, Black Cat, and Silver Sable to the mix. I guess after the financial (if not critical) success of Venom, and the hit they had in Into The Spiderverse, Sony feels like they can profit from Spidey again even without Marvel.
For Disney, this means we've seen and probably heard the last of the Tom Holland and Peter Parker. I don't know how they're going to sweep all that under the rug, but that's business. It's possible they could bring him back for some cameos or something, or buy the rights to at least mention him, but he won't be getting his own movies or making any Avengers-style appearances for years to come, if ever again.
Really sucks, and it's pretty shitty on both Disney and Sony's part, but I guess that's life. I think it's especially bad for the MCU, which is already facing a tepid reception to their announced upcoming films for the next 2+years. Holland's Spider-Man was a supposed to be their new flagship character. I guess it's Thor now?
It's going to be plenty awkward seeing Holland appear in his own movies in a world where they can't reference the Avengers or Tony Stark, or even Happy Hogan. They could still have Aunt May and the rest of their supporting cast, as technically those are Spidey characters, and they could have the same director, but yeesh. I don't think I'll be tuning in. Sony is fucking garbage.
Press F to pay respects.

See, this is why I stopped entirely having any sort of expectations for the Marvel movies years ago. If I don't expect anything, I don't get disappointed.

Screw Disney I say. This is what they get for ruining Star Wars.

I mean, despite sounding pretty certain about it above, we should probably not be too hasty about this. Negotiations have broken down, but it doesn't mean it's totally over. We'll see what actually happens. Disney might cave.

A third Spider-Man movie will take a while to come, so there is time for the corporate giants to get amiable, even if unlikely. Concerns about Disney's increasing monopoly on pop culture in movies aside, I'll focus on the Spider-Man thing and the Spider-Man thing alone.
Sure, it can be weird if the split ends up happening, and it can be weirder than the MCU's own mishaps and stuff (Rhodey's actor change, Scarlet's Witches' on and off accent, Netflix series being just "kinda" there, Agents of SHIELD's benchwarming the universe...) but luckily Spider-Man's part of the MCU is rich enough (both in what has already been portrayed with the school, students, Aunt May... and in what hasn't been adapted yet) so I'm not afraid about that in particular, specially given how by the end of Far From Home the situation allows for a Peter Parker busier with his own things that with the MCU's stuff.
I get that the premise of a Marvel-less Spidey can be scary. Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 are way too close for comfort, and Venom despite being... interesting and having Tom Hardy it was a hot mess of a movie. But lets not forget that not only once upon a time Sony made two really good Spider-Man movies with Sam Raimi (and a... well, less good third one) but recently they put out Spiderverse. Freaking awesome Spiderverse. So yeah, it's odd news and yeah, sometimes (maybe even often) Sony is garbage. But sometimes they aren't, so there is still hope.

I'll try and stay optimistic. If anything, I'm happy Spider-Man is possibly getting away from being a world hero, and may go back to being the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man again. Emphasis on neighborhood. Don't care for Spider-Man being an Avenger, as I'd like to see more street-leveled heroes.

Screw Disney I say. This is what they get for ruining Star Wars. Is there any way I can like this statement more than once cause this is the highlight of my day so far. On Spidey, well Sony screwed things up once, we taught them by voting with our feet. We will just have to teach them that lesson again

I don't like it, but that's not to say it will be a permanent decision. I'm still keeping my hopes up for something great down the line.
But the memes out there say that Disney might just gobble up Sony like they did 21st Century Fox.

So, I am not NEARLY internet-savvy enough to confirm or deny whether this is legit, but...

It's probably clickbait, sadly.

Looks like it is. I can't find any other sources confirming this.

That's a bummer. I've heard rumours of Marvel offering a more generous split of the profits, closer than what Sony might be expecting. Fingers crossed.

Looks like Spidey is out of the neighborhood and onto space or whatever..
Or whatever world-threatening event they have planned for him.

Hey, not bad! I'll take one more movie to wrap things up. It's a shame he probably won't appear in any team-ups beyond that, but it's something.
