As soon as they landed Elise was happy to skip and hop into the surface, she wasn't particularly fast by any means, but it was clear she was delighted to see another planet with vegetation different from her own. "Oooh, the grass is so nice..." she said, outright flopping on it like she was about to do snow angels. "Hmm?" she had to get up pretty soon, since there was work to do and the captain was wondering who was she riding those contraptions with, since she had no clue on how to operate them.
Elise's eyes longed for the captain a moment too long, then turned to look at Mika with naive innocence. She wasn't sure what Mika thought of her, but she approached and stood near her. So close that Mika could feel how Elise smelled like freshly cut grass, dew in the morning, fresh mint and pine, deep wood and moss. "You are the expert, no? Do you want to ride- do you want me to ride with you?" she wondered, tilting her head while she looked at her.

"An idea, yeah. Not the BEST rider, but I'm good enough to be able to take off the training wheels.." She said getting on scootz and remembering how to operate one. While trying to figure it out, she noticed a green blob standing next to her. Really closely next to her. "Uhh...hey?" She questioned.
"Uhh, well definitely not an expert. I do what I can, but uhh.." She noticed the green blob staring at her. She smelled like shit! Not literal shit, but she smelled bad! To someone used to the smell of oil, grease, and machinery, the natural smell of nature was not the most pleasing thing to her.. "Um, I THINK the captain's seat is looking a little lonely there. Maybe you should ride with him so he and the seat aren't too lonely, yeah? I'll be fine." She smiled nervously.

Elise looked with those big, curious eyes at Mika squirm a bit, definitely looking uncomfortable. "Hmm" she nodded, looking back at the captain, then back at Mika. "I guess, I'll trust you" she said to her, the Captain was looking terribly alone and even if that befitted his mysterious aura Elise knew what was to be alone now that she had met other people for the first time. A small shrug and she hopped back to the Captain, riding behind him and holding herself securely.

Despite Elise best effort, she was rejected by the mechanic girl who had a preference for more oily odors, at any rate, the plant girl would find herself sitting behind the captain on the second scootz. Taking place on the floating bike, the captain invited Elise to sit on the back and waited for Mika to be ready to go. While holding to the captain, she could feel his body was not as soft as it looked nor as warm as it seemed, it felt rigid, almost mechanical and the faint clicking of tiny gears could be felt and heard with each beat of his heart.
Mika was trying to remember how to operate them and quickly enough, it came back to her, except that these one could only be turned on using their permission cards, which was the device they were given when they became part of the crew. The luminous screen on top of the tank would serve as the screen to show any indicator of the bike's state, including how much battery it had left, state of the engines, overheating and so on.
---------------------------------------- Mika will get a temporary Driving skills : 2 : specialty : Scootz. Lasting until end of chapter ----------------------------------------
Once everyone was ready to go, the scootz left the ground quietly and they started heading toward their objective. The landscape in which they found themselves ressembled a dense jungle with trees coming from all kind of place, some seems familiar to Elise as they shared some similarities, but that was the end of it. If anything, it was the constant pulsing coming from them and the mechanical veins going in and out of their trunk that gave them some kind of eerie feel and made them look unnatural, but the fusion between what was plant and what seems not was so intricate and complexe it was hard to tell wether the forest grew around the technology or if the technology grew inside the forest.
The chirping of birds could be heard from the top of the trees, if birds they actually were, some kind of flying beast resembling birds at least seemed to have nested there. But the more worrying thing was the buzzing, constant as they drove trough the bushes. It followed as they go, sometime increasing in noise, sometimes reducing but it never left until they reached a meadow where they could finally see an opening in the tree top, clearing the sky.
They weren't far from the Powerplant, but not close enough to be in any immediate danger from any imperial rats. The captain had stopped for now, waiting for the other team signal. When something started growling nearby...

That was odd, but only as a first impression. Elise didn't expect the Captain to feel so... mechanical, but after a few seconds she was fine with it. If there could be half plant people like her, why not half machine people? It wasn't like she understood how those worked, so it was probably a normal thing around. Maybe.
Her appreciation for half machine organisms started and ended on the Captain though, specially as they got going. Elise looked around, marveled at the flora of that place, eager to get down the bike and see more, feel more, but mechanical things she didn't understand were part of those plants, and clearly not in a positive way.
Elise understood that nature were cycles, and as such some beings fed from each other, but that invasion didn't feel part of the cycle, it wasn't just a subversion of the natural order of the place, but also seemed like a dead end. A path that lead nowhere.
"I don't like this place, what they have done to it with the machines..." Elise protested, getting down from the bike when they stopped. "That sounds like the local fauna, are we intruding into some beasts space?" she wondered calmly. Just in case, Elise started to raise a wooden fence off the ground with her powers, to keep any beast away without harming anyone involved.

"So we wait for the other team here, huh? Sounds good." She said stopping the scootz. She looked around and admired the surroundings of this area. The technology and the plant life was beautiful. Even if she didn't care much for nature itself, she had to admire the fact that the nature was preserved and introduced to technology. It's as if they coexisted together in a beautiful fusion of both nature and technology.
"I take it something like this offends you. You'd probably prefer all natural, huh? Personally I think it's pretty great. To think they could have just scrapped all of this wildlife and put in some city or some technological advancement. But they at least left the plants here and let them do their thing still. Pretty neat, actually." She admired again. "Actually. I'd like to see if the plants are more tech, or more living. Could help down the line if we need to move them for some reason. Permission to test, captain?" She asked, taking her tractor beam and getting ready to move a piece of tech/plant ever so slightly. Her tractor beam couldn't move living beings just yet, so if these plants were more tech, she'd be able to move them. If they still maintained their plant life, she wouldn't probably be able to move them. Or maybe she could, she never tried moving a plant before..

As Elise created a barrier of plants around them, the growling seemed to just go in circle, it seemed like it was not gonna get any closer for now, but was still wandering around. The Captain turned his head toward you with a soft smile.
-Good call, also, the plants and technology you see here is actually a symbiosis of the two, they are part of each other, like the people of this planet, now how that came to be, I have no idea...the issue is the Imperial technology, which is a stranger on this planet, thats the problematic one...-
He clarified as best he could.
-Go ahead..-
He told Mika. As you try to move them around, you feel there is a slight resistance, as if they were more heavy then what it should be, but you successfully manage to move them, but the way they react by twisting slightly feel like you've annoyed them a bit. How strange...
You suddenly hear some sort of explosion in the distance, the growling cease immediately and a bip can be heard in your Com's link.
-The rats are on the run, I repeat, the rats are on the run, Out!-
You hear.
-Alright, its our time to play!-
The captain says, hoping back onto his scootz, ready to head into the woods.

"So basically we're removing hardware. I think I understand what we're aiming for now. They'd essentially be weeds we're removing. Technological weeds from an otherwise normal garden." She explained to the plant for her to get a better idea of what they were going for. Then again, she'd probably have the better idea of what's going on between the two of them..
"Up the chain, cap." She said getting back on the scootz and getting ready to head out to the destination.

Whatever kind of beastie had been growling closer and closer, it seemed to be content to meander at the other side of the barrier, so at least it wasn't an overtly aggressive creature that would force them to defend themselves. The issue seemed to be a technological one, so Mika's knowledge would be invaluable, making Elise happy to count with her, even if she was a difficult one to understand. They were from whole different worlds, figuratively and literally. "Hmm?" Elise turned around when the ruckus started, it was clear that the other team was already doing... what they were supposed to be doing, so it was their time to move. Once again hopping on the Captain's scooter and holding tightly to his back, Elise was not eager to face the trouble, but she couldn't help to be curious about it. Everything was new for her after all.

You both hop back on the scootz, ready to move along as the second team made their advance to attract the rat's attention. You ride once more into the mechanical forest, the deeper you go, the more dense it becomes and at some point you are force to continue on foot, getting closer and closer to the giant tree standing admist the forest.
The Captain motion for you to be careful and to move forward silently as the explosions continue to resonate further and further away from where they are heading.
-They may have left a few sentries behind...so lets be careful...-
The man said readying his weapon, a long pistol he unlock with a flick of his finger. His gaze is focus as you reach near the base of the tree. As expected, a few guards have been left behind. He turn toward you two.
-Alright, I'll be taking care of these, when the coast is clear, you head inside and find the control pannel, I'll be right outside...-
He said before disapearing in the shadows. It doesn't take long before you see the remaining guard been suddenly shot down and as soon as they fall, their body are swallowed by the ground, leaving no traces behind. The field is clear.

The situation was horrible. Elise didn't mind machines, she had just learned not long ago what they were, wonderful creations that could take her along the stars for example. They seemed a great way to adapting into an environment that would be otherwise hostile to life, but... that was different. Those machines weren't being used to allow or ease people to live there, those machines were an inference with the life there and its purposes didn't seem all that generous to her. She wasn't angry though, not yet, as she had to slowly discover what being angry was having had no reason to be so in her entire life, but she still recognized her crew mate's expertise in the task at hand.
"Mika, you know all this, tell me what we need to do" she nodded. "Meanwhile I'll take a look at the poor plant life" Elise sighed, approaching it.

"It'd be irresponsible of them not to."
"Right. Once we're fully inside I'll know what I'm working with. Until then, you're just as much an expert as I am on these plants." She said sneaking in. Once inside, she'd take a look at the machines around and see if she'd know how to operate with them at all. Switching on her sensors, she'd check out all the electrical energy going around this place to see if she can find a main mechanism.

Before going in, Elyse took a look at the plant, you can tell by its sheer size thats it won't go down easily but you take notice of the black fluid slowly dripping along its bark, it doesn't look like it belong there, if anything, it look toxic. The stuff is just oozing out of the bark, as if its sap had been poisonned.
When you get inside, thanks to the captain taking care of the guards, you find yourselves inside what seems to be a man made tunnel that was forced between and in the roots of the giant tree. Cables and bolts cover the side of the tunnels and the self same black ooze seems to be drippig from wherever the bark was pierced.
For now, you can only see a long tunnel splitting into two path further on. One is clearly lit with electrical lamp while the other as no light in it but you can distinguish a small flashing red dot in the distance of that side of the tunnel.
The ground below you seems to be breathing somewhat as you can feel it lift up and down albeit very slowly. You are definitely inside a living organism.

"This doesn't look good..." Elise scrunched her nose, looking at the black goo oozing from the humongous plant. She didn't dare to touch it, at least not out of curiosity, but she would if she needed to once they guessed how to help, to heal it. "It's sick... no, worse, poisoned" she sighed, her voice clearly sad with a slight angry undercurrent. The captain was more than enough to get rid of some guards, so they walked in unscathed and unbothered, something good as Elise's mind wasn't in a fight but trying to check what was going on with the plant.
With technology intermingled in the area and the paths separating... Elise didn't know what to do. "Mika, where do we go?" she asked, eager to help but not knowing how.

Black tar everywhere was gross, especially when Plant called it 'poison.' This whole place was gross. Why would anyone want to put tech inside a plant organism like this? Of what benefit would there be? Mika's mind went to naturally powered tech like solar power, and thought maybe a power source was sufficient enough to power something huge, and they were just sucking this powerplant dry. That thought crossed her mind, and she curiously wandered to Elise's probable mind. She looked upset, so something like this surely bothered her.
"Don't worry, Turnip. We're here to fix this after all.." She reassured her. As they ventured closer, she felt the floor breathing under her feet. "Oh it's...it's breathing.. She had a small panic attack, thinking how gross it was to think the floor was breathing. "Ugh. It's all a living organism. It's all a living organism.." She pressed forward.
Now they had a choice for two pathways.
"Well. This pathway has an electrical lamp, which points to technology. We're here to get rid of the imperial tech, so I think this way would probably be good. Just be ready for anything." She said taking out her mechanical gun arm, ready to fire at any threats.
