Alright, I have an Advantage I want to give to a weapon, but I'm kinda stuck in costing it.
Basically, I want to give a character a sword that he can "summon" into his hand, at will, for free, no matter where it is on the planet. The in-book descriptions of similar weapons aren't of any help in costing this one aspect. So, I figured I'll need to cost it seperately myself.
The closest thing I can think of to emulate that power is to give the sword an awkward, limited version of Teleport, and treat the sword as though it were animated and used the power itself (while tossing in a "mental link" between the character and the sword for free):
Teleport: 8 (for planet-wide teleport) - Uses its own energy (+3) - Doesn't help others (-2) - Can only teleport to its owner (-2)
TOTAL COST: 9 CL = 12 white stones
My problem though, is the cost... considering Magik's sword costs a total of 6 white stones (and allows a +4 defense and a +5 attack versus mystic creatures), surely full-fledged summon-at-will isn't THIS costly?
Comments? Did I miss something with this trait, or am I just being cheap? (I do find the costing of Magik's Soulsword to be a little... generous.)

I'd price this like "Collapsible/Portable" for Powered Armor (1 White) or the Retractable option for Claws (+1 Cost Level).
I'd also mention the possibility of using the Fast Draw Action, at a -1 for "Sword X Only", since the thing comes instantly to hand.

I'd also mention the possibility of using the Fast Draw Action, at a -1 for "Sword X Only", since the thing comes instantly to hand. Huh. That actually makes a lot of sense (and explains the low cost for the Soulsword.) I think I like the Claws comparison, and will take a similar mindset to costing this. Thanks! -Wayne
