"Into The Breech" Part 2 From a birds-eye view, the scene in the streets below looks like something out of an action movie: All four lanes of traffic down Plymouth street are blocked up by cars abandoned in the middle of the road; pedestrians have long since cleared out of the area, leaving only two warring factions of gang members shooting it out. A half dozen youths armed with pistols and submachineguns huddle around the corner of a bank. They occasionally peer around the corner long enough to get out a few stray shots at the enemy: four other young men crouched behind a toppled SUV some 30 yards away, likewise armed. The exchanges of gunfire echo through the streets, muffling the shouts and taunts from both sides. Stray bullets smash windows, ricochet off cars and pavement, and many whistle off into the parking lot of the crowded mall just down the block. This is the scene into which young Yuriko Yohamiko descends.. * * * * * Not far away, a 19 year-old appliance repairman finds himself standing on his employer's roof, with who-knows-how-many dollars-worth of equipment strapped to his back. If it all works according to plan, the patents could be worth millions.. if they don't work out according to plan, Jack might wind up a pink stain on the sidewalk. HRRROOOOOM!The jetpack's thrusters roar to life with surprising kick, tossing Jack roughly into the air. It takes him only a moment to stabilize himself, but it's a little too late for the satellite dish, blown clean off the roof by the powerful downdraft. Whatever - he's airborne! A little destructive, but it works! From up in the air, Jack sees more or less the same sight down the block: two presumably different factions of gang members shooting it out in the middle of Plymouth street just a few blocks away. Worse yet, there's someone standing in the middle of the crossfire! Judging by her long black hair, it's a woman... is she crazy?* * * * * As soon as Dr. Moseley steps outside his office, he's confronted with the harsh reality of the situation: people out on the streets are confused and panicked, and in the distance he can hear the sporadic echos of gunfire. The violence has definitely spread to Kingsway. Ordinarily, it would be easy to find an empty alleyway, but on a day like today, pedestrians are scrambling about in every direction, and some are desperate enough to duck down an unknown alleyway in search of escape. Dr. Moseley has to jog several blocks before he finally finds a little privacy. At last, he manages to duck behind a dumpster long enough to change. Just barely long enough, as it turns out: just as he's finishing up, he hears several footsteps slowly approaching. A peek around the corner of the dumpster reveals a posse of four young men of various ethnicities, each dressed in baggy clothes and carrying a bat or a knife or some other weapon in hand. They're headed his way and there isn't anywhere else to hide..

(This was just the last thing she said from the last panel..)
She watches, and waits. Hoping that the presence of a flying human will be enough to deter these guys from continuing this fight. She had seen on the television news, The Steel Sentinal diffuse situations like this, she'd never tried it before now. She knew she was relatively new in town, but she hoped the determination in her words was enough.
Action 1: 4 stones in Social Skills (Authority) to stop these guys before it gets even worse. Action 2: 2 stones in Manipulate Personal Gravity + 2 from Personal Gravity Well. (Putting it all in Toughness, then shifting 1 stone of Agility, 1 stone of Speed and 2 stones of Reflexive Dodge into Toughness)
Defense: 10 (10 Toughness)

He was up! the air rushed past him as he continued to rocket around Kingsway. The nearest gang fighting was right down the street on Plymouth! I live on Plymouth![/b] he thought as he was lucky not to have been at home.
Oh god, that chick is going to get demolished!
He approaches the group that is huddling on the corner of the bank from behind them off the side road that connects to Plymouth. They might hear him, but he might be able to get the drop on them with all the gun fire.
He checked his forcefield to make sure it was still running as he flew lower and aimed at the gang like he was bowling using himself as the ball!

Action 2: 4 free stones for Force Field.

As he finally takes the last things off and puts them somewhere safe, praying that he doesn't get robbed, he notices the thugs coming. Hopefully they haven't seen him yet and for now he would stay hidden or maybe not. He decides to walk out and play a little.
"So, what are you fellows doing out here on this lovely day."
Evident sarcasm but it would do for now. Just in case, at least they couldn't hurt him, them at least.

That line, and Jade's sudden appearance, cause a temporary cease fire as young men on both sides of the battle stop shooting and simply stare. She can hear them mutter to one-another in confusion.
But the lull doesn't last. A strange roar filling the air diverts attention away from Jade, and up into the sky. Someone has just enough time to mutter a "What the-" before Jack barrels down to the pavement like a human rocket. He plows directly into the larger group of gang bangers,: most manage to dive out of the way at the last second, but one poor teen is a little too slow on the uptake and takes the brunt of Jack's assault directly in the stomach.
The force field shimmers from the impact, but holds steady, and for a moment the gang banger appears to be squashed against an invisible bubble surrounding Jack. When the goon finally does fall off, he lands with a thump on the hood of a parked car. He'll live, probably, but he's out of this fight for sure.
The remaining gang members panic, and that means more gunfire. Shots ring out and bullets whistle through the air - several strike Jade, deflecting off her impossibly hard skin like flies.
======================= Summary: The two gangs are lumped into two groups: one group of 4, and a second group of 6 (now down to 5, since Jack just KO'ed one). No need to split stones unless you somehow want to attack both groups at the same time.

"So, what are you fellows doing out here on this lovely day." The four youths halt as the Big Man steps out of hiding. One of them lifts a baseball bat as if to strike, but one of his companions - the apparent leader of the band - holds up his hand. "Easy, dawg," the leader says calmly to his trigger-happy friend. Then, to Big Man: "We're out spreadin' the news, gramps: this is Hoodlums territory now." [OOC: Quick question: What exactly is Big Man wearing at the moment? No, that isn't a pickup line.]

(OOC: His heroic costume at last)
Big Man know immediately that that cannot be a good idea. So he would have to deter these guys from doing anything.
"Sorry to inform you guys but I can't let you do that. So maybe you should go home and save yourselves the embarresment of losing to a man dressed like this."

The leader sneers. "Ah, forget this," he spits, drawing a butterfly knife with a flourish. "Mess him up!" The goons don't need to be told twice. The one with a baseball bat had been itching to take a swing, and is all too happy to oblige. Big Man is prepared, however, and brings up a forearm in defense. The wooden bat bounces off his flesh as though it had struck a brick wall. A jab from the butterfly knife fares no better, leaving little more than a small tear in the abdomen of Big Man's costume. The other two goons circle around, surrounding their 'victim'; one brandishes a lead pipe, another a crowbar. ======================= [OOC: No damage suffered! I'm using the " enchmen rule", so there's no need to split stones - but be advised that so long as the punks act together, they gain a small modifier.]

Jack lets out a "Strike!" as the banger slumps off his forcefield and lands with a bang on the hood of that poor car. He was full of adreniline now and lands behind the car where he just deposited his only 'rider'. He pulls him off the car and sets him on the ground so he doesn't accidentally get shot.
"Thanks buddy.. I kinda had this one under control.." the chick says to him...as she gets pelted by bullets.
Seeing that she wasn't hurt Jack really wonders if she couldn't have handled this by herself. But he can't leave her all these guys alone and so he points his arms at the different groups the power running to his gauntlets amps up and he hears the humm that lets him know they're active.
One of his inventions he knows works without a hitch...now anyways. He'd been able to work out the kinks after only 2 uses! And now he quickly fired off several bursts at the opposing gangs.
