If I get the game I will do it only because I just love the way noir Spiderman looks (well... in the comics he looks more awesome with his badass trenchcoat instead of a leather jacket).
Is the Wii version the same as the others?

I also really hate the mini-game at the portals that you have to suffer through to change Spider-Men. I’ve given up playing for the night and the above bears repeating. I’m supposed to change Universes but I’m stuck on Amazing because I can’t get past that stupid mini game (even when cheating and using two styluses* … and it’s early enough in the game that it’ll only get harder**). On the bright side my inability to proceed means that I’ve scoured the city and I think I’ve obtained every upgrade Amazing Spider-Man can get to with his current power set. Damn, and I really wanted to beat up Enforcers as Noir Spidey today. *Hey, it worked of the carrot game in Bower’s Inside Story. **I don’t need an easy mode for combat or exploring. I need an easy mode for this &^%&*% mini game.

This is a REALLY quick game. I’m no much of a gamer and usually I lose interest in a game before I bet it. As it is now I was over half way through the puzzle-laden path to the final boss fight when I had to recharge my DS.
Actually that last bit is a little disappointing. As much as I like that there are DS-exclusive bosses, it annoys me that – Mysterio aside – none of the consul bosses are present*. I was hopeful that there’s be more content but I guess when the game says you’re 40% done its talking about overall achievements and not story mode.
*And I guess technically Electro and Vulture … though these from different universes. Plus what I really want is to fight Lady Ock 2099 and Noir Hammerhead (John DiMaggio!). I suppose I could always get the eventual PC version but I probably won’t.
PS: Still hate the mini-game. That more than anything is preventing this from being the best Spidey handheld. The actual combat is fun though (even more so in the late game).

Aaaand I beat the game (Heh, Beck being a load bearing boss is actually justified) … and the “Boss Rush” mode so I can unlock the “alternate costume” achievement. Now If only I could figure out what they are and how to wear them. I’m assuming I need to restart the game on top of my old saved file but I want to backtrack through the universes* to get all the hidden items before I get rid of that file.
*Have I shocking mentioned how shocking much I hate the shocking** tablet mini game?
**It just hit me that Herman Shultz’s villain name is MUCH more offensive in the year 2099.

I haven't played a video game in a while, but the levels with 2099 Spiderman looked cool. I think it would be cool if Marvel did an Ultimate Alliance game based in 2099. I kind of miss that series

I only had a few issues, but I enjoyed them. If I have have time to read comics again I'll probably get more.

i never actualy read 299 was it any good? It was great for the first few years but the entire 2099 line was completely derailed after some editorial shakeups later on that caused most of the writers to leave in protest. The Peter David run is worth looking into though.

Back on topic, I just beat this game, and am personally glad I didn't spend my money on it. I rented it, and well It's not that much different from any other spiderman game I've played, and beat. I did like the Noir and 2099 levels. To actually get to play in them was something new, and the deadpool level was entertaining. However the rest of the game seemed like a big dejavu flashback.
I think I might try to get my hands on some more of the other 2099 comic books for sure now. I would never actually buy this game though. I wouldn't mind seeing maybe a whole 2099 game, but they are getting too repeditive.
