Bio
Lady Zamania of the House Summers and Dr. Howard Connors of the House Romulus (more specifically, the sub-House Connors, where many of House Romulus' scientific minds emerge) had had a clandestine affair. The two always met in secret, in an abandoned warehouse near a Skrull village, and later Lady Zamania hid that she was pregnant well with her telepathy. The night the baby was born, the parents discovered that their newborn son had laser vision. After arguing about what to do, Howard left Zamania and their baby to create some protective eyewear for his son. It took about a week to grow the quartz needed for the goggles--it would have taken less time if he hadn't been doing it in secret--and at that point, Lady Zamania had been "missing" according to other House Summers members (she had made herself "invisible" mentally). As he rushed back to the warehouse, he became worried at the loud noises that were erupting from the abandoned building. Entering, he found Zamania, dead on the ground. Strewn about her were bodies of Skrull, blood leaking out of them. As he stepped towards her, more Skrulls leapt out of the shadows, catching the doctor by surprise, and thus killing him. The Skrulls were about to pickpocket the bodies, when their leader, a wartorn, savage Skrull named K'luzor, ordered them to be silent. There, in dark of the warehouse, a baby was crying. They found the child, and were about to kill him, but then he opened his eyes, hitting them with his laser vision! K'luzor lost his left arm and the rest of his group to the blast. As he crawled away, vowing revenge, a Skrull couple, Ful’k and Hum’el, passing by saw the blast and raced into the now-structurally unsound building to find the baby, along with the bodies of his parents and vaporized remains of Skrull. They salvaged what things they could from the bodies, especially those of the baby's parents. Which is how they found a piece of paper with the name "William Conners" on it, which they assumed meant the child. So they adopted William and raised him as their own.
Later, at the age of 5, his Skrull parents give him his biological parents' things, among them, his father's once-white labcoat, now browned with old bloodstains; the goggles his father had developed (the Skrull parents had essentially bond his eyes up to that point with rags); a strange device, which must have been broken during the attack, bearing the initials "D.P."; and three ID dog tags bearing his biological parents' names and the crest of each house; the third one bore his name and a dual crest of the House Summers and Conners. They also gave him a small Skrull pendent that contained no real monetary value, but it was made of two intertwining Skrull embracing. Ful'k had made it for him as a sign that, though they were not his biological parents, they'd always see him as their son. Somehow, he took this all rather well. As he grew, he began to exhibit other abilities: he could communicate telepathically and help the mentally wounded heal; and he could summon and control fire with his mind. He also developed a hobby in inventing: he fixed the strange device (using Skrull tech and other things), which he figured out was a teleporting device, and he invented many things to help make some of his Skrull parents' lives easier. Living in a Skrull community, he did receive much hatred and disgust at first, but gradually, the Skrulls saw him as essentially a mutant-ish Skrull, so they accepted him. They even gave him a Skrull name: Z'la. He became a regular sight in the village: tall and fit, wearing his goggles and labcoat, the teleporting device forming a red "X" on his chest. He later helped defend their little village from raiders, both Skrull and mutant. One raid in particular affected him. This was led by K'luzor, with a robotic left arm and more Skrull bandits. During the skirmish, K'luzor somehow recognized Z'la as the child who almost killed him. So he used his telescoping robot arm to send Z'la into a nearby building and followed. There, he confronted Z'la, and asked him if he looked familiar. Z'la said no, but his mind kept producing memories of something half-forgotten. Then Ful'k and Hum'el walked by, carrying a stretcher with an injured Skrull in it. They stared in horror at the scene before them. Seeing Z'la's eyes directed past him, K'luzer whirled around. Seeing the looks between the mutant and his Skrull parents, K'luzer launched his telescopic arm faster than any Skrull could react at Ful'k and Hum'el's throats, crushing their windpipes. K'luzer turned to face Z'la, a look of cruel malice on his scarred face. all of a sudden, Z'la remembered K'luzor towering over him, that same look of malice transforming into horror as his arm was blasted off. Before K'luzor could react, Z'la transformed into a lizard-like being, hurling himself into the Skrull. In short order, Z'la pounded the tar out of K'luzor, his followers fled, and Z'la shakily turned back into his human self. However, K'luzor escaped, and Z'la could hear in his mind the Skrull mentally telling him, "I'll be back, kid. You ain't seen the last of me."
Soon after that skirmish, Z'la heard rumors of the new Phoenix, and decided to strike out on his own to find this person, whoever it might be, thinking they might be able to help him track down K'luzor.

Not much is known about Zalea. Spike, of the X-Men, found her one day while on a mission, shaved head and hospital-gowned, lying unconscious in the snow. Next to her was a strange set of tonfa-swords and sheet of paper that read as follows:
Code Name: Zalea Real Name: [it has been scribbled out, to the point that the paper has been turned to pulp] Age: 15 Height: 5'6" Weight: 136 lbs. Skin: Fair Eyes: Violet Hair: Brown when at peace, lavender when using powers City of Origin: Detroit, Michigan Species: Mutant Mutant Powers: Healing Subject notes: Subject possesses power to heal: herself and others, both mentally, emotionally, and physically. Subject has also shown to be highly skilled in remembering information, often reciting by rote entire books two months after reading them. When training, subject has shown much potential acrobatically, and in combat. Subject has proven exceedingly skilled at wielding bladed weapons of all variety. Special Note: Subject was found with an interesting pair of tonfa-like-swords which subject called "the Mylori Blades." Subject is most skilled with these weapons, which are of unknown make and origin, cannot be damaged and can pierce any substance that we have put against it.
The rest of the page was ripped. Spike went and got help, and Zalea was taken back to the X-Mansion to heal. Once revived, it was clear that, while she had an encyclopedic knowledge of so many subjects, she didn't know who she was or what happened to her. Throughout the next four years, under Professor Xavier and Jean Grey's tutelage, her mental powers grew. They found out early on that they couldn't leave her alone in the infirmary, because she would expend her energy to the point of fainting healing her fellow classmates an X-Men from their various ailments, whether mental or physical. She was caught in the act one time, her normally brown hair a bright lavender has she fixed a student's broken leg; afterward, she immediately fainted and was thereafter restricting from the infirmary without supervision. Beast helped her with her medical knowledge, while her fighting skills grew with the other students. She became close friends with Spike, though nothing romantic; more of a brother-sister relationship. And she came to see Logan as a father figure [unoriginal, I know] due to their common personal historical ignorance.
When she turned 20, she started talking to Logan more and more about her unknown past. His advice: "Stop whining about it and go find it. Follow the trail, kid." She took that advice and followed the trail that started with the paper she was found with to Detroit, Michigan, her alleged city of origin. The Professor understood, though he'd rather she stayed with her newfound family.
So she found herself in Detroit, joining a hero team, searching for her past.

Brett Zaxton always wanted to be an astronaut, ever since he was a child. He got his chance when he was selected to go on a new, experimental type of spacecraft: The Kaiser Explorer. In theory, a trio of astronauts could pilot it around Mars and back to break ground on Mars for Earth. Brett would be accompanied by a Russian and a German pilot (since Germany had designed the craft). Each of them was to wear a special Kaiser Space Suit, which would protect them from any unforeseen occurrences that the scientists could think of in space. The thing was, they never got off the planet. Something happened as the craft exited the atmosphere, and it exploded. All three were presumed dead, but the Kaiser Suit protected at least Brett. He awoke in a crater, not knowing where he was. He started pulling the charred suit off, but when he was just down to the gauntlets and he pulled them off, he fell to the ground as some invisible force held him to the ground. He didn't even have enough air to scream. His hands were burning, and he soon fainted. He awoke with the Kaiser Suit's Gauntlets on his hands. He looked around and noticed that he was in a desert--and every cactus in a mile radius had been flattened. He looked at his hands, which had the Kaiser Gauntlets on, and then held them up. As he did so, the other pieces of the Kaiser Suit lifted into the air. He dropped his hands in panic and the pieces dropped, too. He lifted them up higher, and the pieces flew twelve feet into the air. Over the next few years, he honed his skills and donned the name The Astronaut. He wore a slimmed down astronaut uniform and helmet, which concealed his identity (considering he was presumed dead, he didn't really want to be found, and used his powers to fight crime (he was restrained in what he could do, though, because if he used his power over gravity up to a certain point, his hands would hurt and then he'd eventually fall to the ground, writhing in pain until he stopped using the power for a certain amount of time).

Psychological, per symptom 1: hot temper
Non-human 3--He can appear human, but can also be bestial
Bio: Nicholas Rochester was only 10 years old, loved by his parents, decent in school, and friendly with everyone. Then the meteor shower happened. Nick's parents were killed by a large meteor that obliterated their car as they drove home from the grocery store. As for young Nick, he was at home, playing in the back yard when a meteorite hit him. His neighbors rushed him to the hospital, and when he awoke, the first thing the nurses saw was that one of his eyes was blue and the other was green (they had been hazel before) and the colors kept swapping between eyes. In the following months after he left the hospital, grieving for his parents, he discovered that he could transform into a large beast with wings, fangs, horns, claws and a tail. He could run through weak solid objects, like walls, without any resistance. Whenever he saw himself in a mirror, his appearance reminded him of an odd version of the Chimera. His senses and his healing abilities became highly attuned in this Chimera-like form, and he came to the conclusion that he should become a super hero at the age of 10. He quit school and ran away from his new foster family, surviving as best he could, honing his skills, and fighting petty criminals.
Fast forward to 2010, Nick, under the name Savage helps keep super villains off the street, just like every other mutant and their mother. At age 20, he's become a standup young man, generally well liked when he's only human. As Savage, he's feared, even by some heroes, because his strength and abilities combine with an animal rage that makes him a force to be reckoned with. Which is why, when the infamous heroes brawl happens, his bestial form can be seen in the thick of it, smashing anything in his wake.
Once the government cracks down on the supers, Nick finds himself shunned and disliked by society, his former friends avoiding him and no one giving him a job. He ends up homeless, living on the streets. To top things off, the government placed a chip somewhere in his body that restricts him to his human form, thus making him a weaker target, an average joe. Aside from his ever-changing eyes, Nick looks just like another bum on the street.

Non-human 4--He has pointy ears in human form, and can become a werewolf
Derek Holt was born in the slums of New York City, an orphan and an automatic ward of the state. Growing up in the orphanage had its ups and downs, especially when no one wanted him. Then, one day, a man in a black robe came to the orphanage and adopted him. Or so Derek believed. What followed lasted only an hour, but it was torture for Derek. He woke up weeks later in a dingy part of a city that he didn't recognize (later he discovered it was London). The boy didn't remember a thing about the event, but it left him with pointed ears and a strange ability. He now could become a shadow and stealthily move between people and areas without being noticeably seen. He soon discovered that he could use this talent to gain food, money, whatever he desired. He grew into cynical man, adept at thievery, getting into places he didn't belong, spending his fortunes on food, shelter, and pleasurable company. The man who once had been Derek Holt now became simply Holt, and was known by crime bosses all over the London underground, mainly as the thief who could never be caught.
That is, until the day he found the Society of Werewolves. He'd shadowed his way into what had seemed like an abandoned warehouse to evade some cops, when he noticed an eery red light coming from the basement shaft of the warehouse. Still a shadow, he infiltrated the basement to find gruff-looking men and women, seemingly from all around the world, standing around the body of a dead man. Glowing in the midst of the man's mutilated corpse was a bright, glowing red stone. One of the men standing around was speaking, describing the stone's abilities: "...the Ruby of the Moon is not just for any dog to take! It belongs to he who will lead us. Only those of the Society are eligible to wear it, for it grants us the power to become our true selves at will, without being at the mercy of the moon's whim. And the bearer is as in control of himself as he would be in his human form. And thus, the bearer has the ability to carry out our purpose." Holt heard all of this, but the light was holding his attention like a piece of candy would a child. He lost himself in it, and therefore suddenly became solid once more. The werewolves were instantly upon him, holding his dazed form down, shouting and spitting at him. He didn't hear a word of it.
Then, he remembered it was a full moon. Realizing this, he snapped to, only to find himself face to furry face with several ravenous werewolves, all gradually changed by the sudden act of his appearance. One got ahold of his right leg and savagely bit into it. Holt cried out in pain, and then panicking, turned into shadow, instantly vanishing from the werewolves sight. But they knew he was there, somewhere. Their lupine brains told them this was so. And he was: Holt had hid himself in a corner covered in shadow as the werewolves hunted for him. Not thinking about his leg for the moment, he realized that he'd just been bitten by a werewolf, and he would soon become one. Vaguely remembering what the man had said, and still mesmerized by the Ruby, his thieving drive kicked in, and he turned human long enough to swipe the stone (which made his presence known to the werewolves for a split second) and then vanished into the shadows and emerged in the park half a mile away across the city. Weary from his exertions, he passed out, clutching the Ruby in his hand, as its light slowly faded.
Months later, Holt used his newly stolen gem to travel across the world (getting out of dodge and away from the werewolves that hunted him as well), honing his hunting skills as a werewolf, tracking down every single evasive prey he could find. Some he let escape. Some weren't so lucky. He also discovered that, when attacked with silver implements (bullets, swords, etc.), he didn’t feel the heart-stopping, incoming-death effects that he knew werewolves to have. One instance, he happened to look down at an injury he’d just received from an angry farmer armed with silver bullets. The wound was covered in deep shadow, and as his body healed from the wound, the bullet popped out like the average piece of lead. Holt didn’t understand this, but he figured if it helped, he didn’t want to know.
At the age of 30, he returned to London, his prowess as a hunter and a thief hanging about him like a hidden cape with gold embroidered into it. People on the streets whispered about him as he passed by--if they saw him at all, that is--and at night wealthy citizens shivered in their beds when they heard a wolf howl on their premises. Instead of becoming a massive thorn in the side of the British government, however, he was approached as he walked out into the park one day after a night of thieving and evading the local werewolves (who were still out for his blood) by a shady character in a long trenchcoat with a summons to join the League, which he heartily accepted (considering how close the werewolves had come to killing him last night).

Harry Summers, was born five years after Scott Summers, his cousin. His parents weren't mutants, so they were surprised to have a mutant son. His powers consisted of teleportation, making it easy for him to make quick getaways from school bullies (who mocked him for his gray hair and orange eyes, not to mention his glasses); and illusion creation, which helped him get back at said bullies. When he reached age of ten, tragedy struck: on a family trip sailing around the Caribbean, the boat got caught in a freak tropical storm. Harry's parents drowned, and Harry himself suffered a major blow to the head. He washed ashore on the coast of Texas, and was found by a man named Joseph Carter. Carter nursed him back to health, and when Harry awoke and couldn't remember anything except his first name, Carter adopted him as his own. Carter, however, worked for the Cuban government, dealing in US government secrets. As his new son, Harry became involved in this line of work, and he excelled in it, though he didn't like the more illegal, violent parts of the job(though he became highly proficient in handling firearms, mainly sniper rifles and pistols); he favored escaping the most. He was a master of infiltrating an area, and then extracting himself from it. One time, when he was about 17, he and Carter were caught in the spotlights. There was no place to run or hide, and Harry panicked. His long-dormant illusion power activated, and he and Carter vanished from the guards' sights. He was unaware of this, however, and as the guards raced to inspect the area where they had just seen two suspicious people vanish, his panic increased and he teleported himself away--to his old house. He passed out from the shock, and awoke to find himself of Beast of the X-Men. Throughout the next few years, he honed his teleporting abilities (often playing "teleport tag" with Nightcrawler) and his illusionary powers. After reading a book on Harry Houdini, Harry Carter decided to try his hand at being an escape artist. He learned how to pick locks, among other things, and combined this skills will his powers and the training from Carter to become the X-Mansion's resident magician, ala Houdini. In fact, when on missions, he would go under the codename "Houdini", in honor of his hero. However, he wasn't exactly happy. He butted heads with Cyclops often (mostly about his use of weapons [his repertoire had expanded to included Semi-automatics, crossbows, bows, and swords], which was increasing alarmingly; Harry was also becoming a little too trigger happy), and though no one would say it, the two bore striking similarities in both personality and looks (mainly facial structure). After so much of this, he decided to leave the X-Men to get away from Scott. He struck out on his own, and over the next few years acquired a sniper-rifle that could collapse into a pistol and a sword. He used these and his powers and skills to mete out justice against criminals in cities he happened to walk through (he also put on a few escape artist shows here and there). Harry Summers, was born five years after Scott Summers, his cousin [yeah, I decided I needed to change it]. His parents weren't mutants, so they were surprised to have a mutant son. His powers consisted of teleportation, making it easy for him to make quick getaways from school bullies (who mocked him for his gray hair and orange eyes, not to mention his glasses); and telepathy--mainly creating illusions at that time--which helped him get back at said bullies. Carter was a huge illusionist/escape artist in his hometown in Texas, and over the next few years, he taught Harry all he knew. Soon, they were performing magic shows in front of thousands. Harry became an expert at getting himself out of locked boxes, traps, anything; people began calling him the next Harry Houdini. Then, one performance, another tragedy struck: Carter was performing a trick that involved him being handcuffed and locked in a box filled with water. He'd done it hundreds of times, but this time, the lock was defective. Harry tried and tried to break him out, but it was no use. He began to panic, and his teleportation powers kicked in: as he was touching the box, it was transported with him to Carter's apartment. But they were several feet in the air, so when they landed, the box broke open, releasing the water and the now dead Carter. Though there were people around, they didn't seem to notice (his illusionary powers had been activated so that no one had any idea how their shoes had suddenly gotten wet. He passed out from the shock, and awoke to find himself of Beast of the X-Men. Throughout the next few years, he honed his teleporting abilities (often playing "teleport tag" with Nightcrawler) and his telepathic powers exceeded beyond illusions to include communicational links, repairing broken minds, and attacking with his mind (Jean Grey and Professor Xavier helped him practice such things). Because of his training as an illusionist/escape artist, and his generally cheerful and somewhat hyper nature, he regularly put on shows, using his powers, for his fellow students and teachers, and the X-Mansion's resident magician. In fact, when on missions, he would go under the codename "Houdini", in honor of his hero. However, he wasn't exactly happy. He butted heads with Cyclops often (mostly about his fun-loving personality, which was at odds with Scott's no-nonsense personality), and though no one would say it, the two bore striking similarities in both personality and looks (mainly facial structure). After so much of this, he decided to leave the X-Men to get away from Scott. He struck out on his own, and over the next few years, he used his powers and skills to mete out justice against criminals in cities he happened to walk through (he also put on a few escape artist shows here and there). At times, he teamed up with local heroes, but mainly he kept to himself.

Murciélago Juarez was born in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico and abandoned as an infant due to his bat-like appearance. Living on his own, all his life, he grew up without much human contact in the wilds of Mexico. He was once caught by scientists, who took DNA tests to determine if he was a mutant, but they came up negative. He escaped easily, and he became known in the following years as a strange hero, of sorts, who came unannounced and vanished silently without a trace. On several occasions he protected innocents from being attacked by Mexican gang members and police. In one instance, he appeared next to a burning building and with a screech blew the fire out with a sonic burst. In addition to this, he'd been seen by eye-witnesses rescuing animals that were trapped by poachers and others. As such, he had to go into hiding for a time to evade said poachers, and hadn't come out until recently. The last time he was spotted in Mexico was by a college student driving home from his studies. He saw Murc in the middle of road, taking him to be a man covered in a blanket. When Murc stood up, the student became terrified and tried to escape by driving away. Not wanting the student to be alarmed, Murc flew after him, his eyes glowing red because he was looking through his infrared eyelids, trying to keep track of the student. He simply wanted to explain that he was trying to help a dog that had been hit by a car. But the student sped away. Murc returned to the dog, but it had died during that time. Murc carried it to the side of the road and buried it, then vanished from Mexico.

Biography
Gerhardt Krauser was born in 1914, the day Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated. His German-born father was drafted into the army to fight on the French Front, and Gerhardt and his mother never heard from him again, though it was said that he met his fate at the hands of British riflemen. Once the war was over, Gerhardt and his mother moved from place to place, trying to find work in the newly established Weimar Republic. It wasn't easy, to say the least, and they often had to steal. They allied themselves with a boy about five years older than Gerhardt, by the name of Johan, who was quick with his fingers and his wit, and he'd never been caught by the police. As the years progressed, Johan became Gerhardt's adopted older brother, and they cared for their mother as well as they could, being poor. Then, Hitler gained his power, and Johan (blond and blue-eyed) was captured and sent to a Hitler youth camp. Shortly thereafter, when Gerhardt and his mother were renting a small apartment, there was a knock on the door. Then the door broke off its hinges as Gestapo came rushing in. They seized Gerhardt and his mother (both had brown hair and slightly dark complexions) and told them to cooperate if they wanted to live. Gerhardt's mother did not. She thrashed and wriggled free of her captor's hold and tried to free Gerhardt. That's when the commander in charge pulled out his pistol. As Gerhardt looked at his mother's prone body, her life-blood draining from a hole in her skull, he felt his anger rising, his need for vengeance undeniable; at the same time, he felt himself changing. His skin grew slate gray and very tough. His stature increased, and wings sprouted from his shoulder blades. Horns, claws, and a tail completed the new look, and before the brownshirts could pull their pistols, he was upon them, throwing them into each other, leaping onto their stomachs and slashing their bodies. When it was all over, Gerhardt, still in his strange new form, walked over to a now dead low rank Gestapo and stumbled back in horror. It was a familiar face, bloodied and horrified, that looked at him, but he recognized it as Johan. Horrified that he had killed his "brother" and at his mother's murder, he fled into the night. Recently, he took to walking the streets of Berlin, doing odd jobs for people, though he faced a major challenge. After he discovered that night that he could turn into a gargoyle-like creature at will during the day (and at night, he had no choice but to turn into the thing), he found that sometimes he felt pains in parts of his body. These pains resulted in a part of his gargoyle form manifesting itself (he'd have pain in his head, and then his horns would grow; he'd have pain in his spine, and he'd grow to his gargoyle height; etc.) He could easily make them vanish once they appeared, but he had to avoid being seen, otherwise people would report him to the Gestapo (who, he knew, already had their eyes on him, wondering why he had not been sent to a concentration camp yet). At night, when he was forced to become the gargoyle-beast, under the name "Gargoyle", he would take to the skies and patrol the city, stopping criminals as much as he could (though only those who were true criminals, preying on the innocent and weak, not those classified by Hitler's government as "criminals").

After growing up with Kurt Conners as a father and living with lizard DNA in his bloodstream, William Conners (aka, Billy) decided after graduating from high school to follow in Spiderman's footsteps and become a hero, the new Lizard, and erase the tarnish that had fallen on his father's name. With his dad's help, he got control of his reptilian side to the point that he no longer loses his control. He trained and honed his skills under Spiderman and a few others. Soon, he joined the Avengers, and Hank Pym became one of his closest friends and mentors, though he was careful not to imitate Pym's bad decisions and low impulse control. He later became the leader of a small team based in New Jersey called the Turnpike Avengers; this was short-lived, due to the locale and the name. Regardless, Billy Conners, now 40 years old, has become a veteran in the superhero world and has made his father proud. So when his old buddy Hank Pym decided to get a new generation of supers together for a new Avengers team, he jumped at the chance.

Bio:Elias Allen Philrix was born in the year 59 A.D. in North America. As a Croven, a species of raven/crow humanoids, he was raised to view humans as lower beings, though not to be treated as slaves. The Croven Code stated that Crovens could tamper with human lives but only for educational reasons, to try to guide humans to better paths or teach them lessons. They were to do this without being seen. Young Elias, however, played numerous pranks and tricks upon the Native Americans in his area, and he always made sure he was seen. Thus, the legends of Raven originated. But, after an unfortunate prank in which a child almost died, the Natives made attempts to hunt Elias down. On one occasion, they missed Elias altogether, but stumbled upon the Croven village. The hunters, seeing superior hunting tools and technology, believed they were Raven’s underlings, bent on wiping out the Natives. Elias had led them there intentionally to scare them and discourage them from pursuing him. This backfired, as the hunters came back with more warriors, and the Crovens, caught unawares, were driven into the forest, where the humans either slaughtered them or were themselves surprised upon by various traps set by the Crovens. When the surviving Crovens met back up again, their numbers were less than half. Elias was among them, but he said no word to his fellow villagers about his accidental role in the humans’ attack. Over the next few years, the Crovens evolved from a society of learners and teachers to a society of warlords and warriors, all with one major purpose: to avenge their fallen and wipe out those humans who had perpetrated such a heinous crime. Bloody battles ensued between the Crovens and the humans, who were faced with more advanced technology and flying opponents. Elias played strategic roles in many of the battles, though he always felt guilty for causing this war. During raids on human camps, he always spared the children, wanted to never repeat what had almost happened when he was younger. He also hoped that his actions would one day influence the younger generation to cease this war. However, he became more and more involved in the bloodlust and vengeance of his people. This increased his hate and bitterness toward humans in general. Then, a massive attack was implemented upon Elias’ village by a union of several human tribes. In the chaos of his burning village, human warriors all around, his fellows falling at his side, arrows trained on him, he screeched with pure hatred and made to attack his nearest opponent. Suddenly time stood still, and a human in a white suit and wolf mask appeared. He claimed his name was Lupine and that he’d bring Elias to a world where this war had ceased. Suspicious of this strange newcomer, and rage still filling his thoughts, he lunged at the human—only to be hit with a tranquilizer dart. He awoke in a steel cage, the man called Lupine in front of him. As far as Elias could see, they were in a gray room with walls that looked more solid than any he’d ever seen (they were concrete). Lupine showed him a series of images displaying the Croven War’s end, though it did not end with peace. The Croven were exterminated from the face of the Earth. Dropping to the bottom of his cage, Elias let out an ear-piercing shriek of pain and sorrow. When he was done, he screeched with fury and tried to lunge at Lupine through the cage. Lupine ignored this outburst, and stated that if Elias wanted, he’d be given a chance to avenge his people’s death. Lupine would train him, and send him out to destroy key perpetrators of the Croven genocide, or at least their descendents. Lupine added that others were doing just that already, under his direction. He said he was the founder of the Gilded Eye, an association of people who crossed time to help right the injustices of the past and prevent injustices of the future from occurring. Reluctantly, Elias agreed to join, under the codename Croven, as a tribute to his people, and throughout the next two years he trained, and became familiar with his fellows within the Gilded Eye’s ranks. Chief among his compatriots was a man who called himself the Butler, who controlled shadow. He became Elias’ confidant and closest friend. The Butler helped him root out much of his hatred for humans, though small traces still remained. And he greatly savored slaying these humans whose ancestors brought his people to ruin. Until the day his target turned out to be a child. Seeing the child of a world leader cowering beneath him, he remembered from long ago that child that he had unintentionally almost killed, and his compassion took over. He abandoned the child and the mission, putting pieces together in his head until he realized that the Gilded Eye was not a force for good, but a company of criminals and assassinations. After this realization, he vowed he would never again kill unless he knew the full scope of what his intended target had done. He later revised that to only killing those who preyed on innocents. He came to all these conclusions as he wandered about the wilder lands of the world. After stumbling onto a group of campers in Yellowstone and accidentally terrorizing them with his fierce looks, he decided to create a costume to disguise his looks. Using his knowledge and skill as a Croven craftsman (a profession he’d been a part of during his early pranking years), he made a costume that would hide his wings, tail feathers, and even his head and most of his feet, though it allowed for him to fly. He struck out on his own, traveling from city to city, town to town, helping those who needed his help, though he still had a mild distaste for humans, and found it hard to help some less than innocent types. Over time, he came to the realization that, being only one being, Croven couldn’t help every innocent being. So he decided to join up with a group for some help…
While this was happening, the Gilded Eye had taken DNA samples of Croven and successfully cloned him. The clone, who named himself Eli, knew he was a clone, and thus had mental breakdowns nearly every day. But as he continued living, they gradually ceased to only a few every few months. He quickly learned what the Gilded Eye was, and was determined to get out of it before he was used for evil deeds. He learned how to operate the time machine and went back in time. He arrived at the instant the last living Croven was killed. Or so it seemed. The Croven was left for dead. Eli went up to the body and saw that this Croven was a Master Croven Craftsman, a Ca'zar. he could tell this by his robes, which enabled the wearer to learn other forms of technology and inventing aside from Native American or Croven technology. The Ca'zar opened his eyes and believed he saw Elias, rather than a clone. Before he could speak, he died. Eli wept bitterly, even though he hardly knew the Croven. He took the Ca'zar's robe and returned to the present. He escaped the Gilded Eye, donning the robe and the name Cloven as a cover to find Elias. Once in a city, he realized that people had never seen a Croven, and it scared them. But a kindly old man named Roger Talbit offered him a job as a telemarketer, so that no one would see him. However, he developed a relationship with two associates, a sweet woman named Alicia Lopez, and a goofy geek named Todd Raife. They never saw him as he was, however, because Roger had given Eli a fantastic costume that made his wings and beak look like parts of a complex Halloween costume. So he gained the reputation of an odd guy who liked to dress up to go to work. Roger told people to leave him alone about his eccentricities, so no one asked, and no one suspected that the beak and wings were actually part of him. Todd and Alicia hang out with Eli during lunch, and sometimes invite him to things after work or on weekends, though he's declined them graciously up to this point...

Ralphie Veloceli was born in New York into the mafia. He never got involved in it, however, because his family was "offed" by an opposing gang. Raised in foster care, he never really cared if he got adopted or not. He became engrossed with science, reading various texts ranging from biology, genetics, engineering, and so on. He became the resident science geek, and unlike most geeks, was liked by everyone in the foster home. He made friends easy and was approachable and willing to help when asked. Once he was 18 and on his own, he set up a lab in his modest apartment, where he mixed chemicals, created fascinating inventions, and studied various things. His genius caught the attention of Dr. Vincent Stegron and Dr. Kurt Conners, and they employed him in their laboratory. Stegron took an especial liking to Ralphie, then only just 20, and the two formed a lasting friendship. And once again, his natural charisma gained him friends in Conners' and Stegron's lab assistants, though he never became as close to any of them as he was to Stegron. He began to view the older scientist as a father, and Stegron was very much aware of it. After Stegron's transformation into the stegosaurus-man, they broke contact, which was hard on Ralphie.
Later, the same mafioso family that murdered his family came knocking on his door, wanted to tie up this last loose end of the Veloceli family. Ralphie would've been dead, if Stegron hadn't appeared at the last instant and killed the hitmen. Then Stegron told Ralphie more would come, and asked him to come with him. He pleaded with Ralphie, not only for the lad's own protection, but also because Stegron was convinced that Ralphie was the only one who could reverse Stegron's transformation. Ralphie agreed, and the two went to an old lab Stegron had set up in an abandoned warehouse. Raphie got right to work, but it soon became apparent that Stegron had ulterior motives. He began acting aggressively, breaking beakers and lab equipment.
Then, one day, he surprised Ralphie and strapped him to a table and then proceeded to do various experiments on his "friend". Stegron injected him with a series of serums, trying to create a transformation similar to his own in Ralphie, but in Stegron's unbalanced mental state, he got the species wrong; Ralphie became a raptor-humanoid rather than a stego-humanoid. Stegron continued with the tests, trying to give Ralphie spikes and back plates, then trying to reverse the process all together to start afresh. The wee weetails injected into Ralphie took a massive toll on him, until his body could take no more. The reptilian part of his brain had grown extensively, and at one point, Stegron injected one serum to many and Ralphie's humanity vanished as the serum took affect and he turned into a feral beast. With animal rage, Ralphie broke free, knocked Stegron unconscious, and escaped via stowing away on boats, ships, and at times swimming to the Savage Lands, being drawn there by instinct.
Gradually, his sentience returned to him, wherein he remembered everything that had happened to him (he also recalled that in his bestial state of mind, he thankfully had harmed no one, save for a few stray dogs). But there were some side-effects to Stegron's over-aggressive experimentation: not only was he still a raptor-man (with all the abilities that that form gave him, though he didn't bear any of Stegron's stegosaurian attributes), but the inflated reptilian part of his brain had somehow caused him to lose his abilities to invent and to recall all of his vast knowledge gained through his studies. This unsettled him for a time, but life in the Savage Lands demanded his attention. He rarely ever saw Stegron, even when he was residing in the Savage Lands, and he holds little ill will towards Stegron. Ralphie's been incorporated into Raptor packs before, though it never lasted; he was way too smart for them. He either pulled stunts that, though successful and beneficial for the pack overall, made them feel deficient, though they couldn't understand why, or they simply realized he was different from them, and in both instances ran him out of their pack. As of now, he's on his own, creating ambushes and traps of his own, catching and eating what he can, wishing he had someone to talk to.

Being a mutant (+3)
Looking non-human (+2)--Completely white eyes, irises and all
Special vulnerabilities (+2)--The Blanket thing
Edward Bogart was born seemingly as a normal human being. His parents raised him to be a kind-hearted child who was easy to get along with. That all changed the night of his 13th birthday. Eddie's latent mutant powers activated: he went to the bathroom to brush his teeth before bed and saw his eyes. The pupils and irises had all turned white and his fingers had grown claws. His senses had sharpened, and he could sense...something. Terrified, he ran to his parents, who on sight were driven to screaming painicky terror. His mother backed herself almost out of the window of the two story house, but his father grabbed her and took her to the car. Eddie never heard from them again. It took him all of two weeks to figure out what had happened. While walking in his backyard, lonely and depressed, he noticed that there were no birds around him. Normally there were a few flitting around here and there in nearby trees, but there was no sign. Come to think of it, there was no living being near him at all that he could see or hear. He decided to investigate and looked over the neighbors' fences. In one yard, a dog cowarded visiably in the corner of the yard, urinating in fear. In another, Eddie watched as a neighbor grilling on a barbecue shuddered continuously as if something cold kept running up and down his spine. Eddie realized that it was his fault: he was emitting an aura of fear. Curious, yet still horribly lonely, he tried to tap the neighbor on the shoulder through the fence. As he reached out his hand, he felt...fear. Intensifying fear in the neighbor. When he lowered his hand, the feeling vanished. Then he tried raising both hands. In an instant, the neighbor was on the ground, sobbing in fear. Eddie tried to calm him down, but it was no use. It seemed the man's mind had been broken by this. It was this event that gave Eddie insight into his powers. As the years progressed, Eddie learned that he needed to actively scare someone once a day or else he would go comatose. The first time that happened, he didn't wake up until the next spring. So he took to going out at night, sensing an easy target and scaring them through the window. He tried not to break anyone else's mind, and he never scared the same person twice. Soon, however, word got out that his house, and by extention the neighborhood, was haunted. The general concensus was that it was by the Bogeyman, so when kids put their blankets over their heads, he couldn't scare them. It wasn't that his need didn't force him to, it was just that a blanket over a head seemed to be the one fear his own fear had [if that makes any sense]. People began to move out and new people moved in. He hated the way he lived, but he always got joy out of watching little children out his window playing in the afternoon. It warmed his heart to know that at least some child somewhere was living as they should, in innocence and ignorance, with (generally) loving parents. One night, as he was about to scare someone, he noticed that all was not right at another's house. Upon investigating, he found a burglar had broken into the house and was about to make off with what he knew to be some very treasured family heirlooms. He reached out his hand, and the burglar immediately dropped the heirlooms and ran screaming from the house, later to be caught by the police. After this event, Eddie decided he would haunt the night, scaring criminals to give themselves up. He seemed to be good at it, and there never seemed to be a slow night: as soon as he found one criminal and scared him, he could continue or not. He grew into a tall man, knowledgable in all things phobia. One day, Nick Fury came to his house. He immediately tried to scare Fury, because he had heard some bad stories about how Fury treated rogue mutants. Before he could fully activate his powers, Fury tossed a blanket over his head. He suddenly was unsure of his existence, and he stayed that way until Fury removed the blanket, explaining to him that he just experienced existential uncertainty: seeing how the Bogeyman goes away when the covers go over a kid's head, it's logical to conclude that he doesn;t know if he exists if the blanketls over his head. Eddie was annoyed by this (and slightly queasy at that moment), but when Fury offered him a job, he accepted. He had just become a SHIELD agent when Fury asked him to go on a very important and dangerous mission...in space. He agreed.

Jack Gurney loved the prehistoric, so much so that he became a paleontologist. He started several dig sites, and several of them ended up as mammoth graveyards. He became a leading expert on mammoths, and so was invited to advise a team of scientists who were attempting to clone a mammoth by various experimental techniques. One such technique was to use the Infuser Ray. The theory was that, if you had an elephant stand in a specific spot and hit it with the Ray (which had, through some odd science, the DNA of a fully preserved frozen mammoth found in the Alaskan tundra in 2000 [true story, that] in it) and it would either become a mammoth or become pregnant with a purebred mammoth baby. Jack wasn't so sure of this, but he agreed to allow the scientists to test this on the grounds that the elephant wouldn't get hurt. Because the scientists didn't have a whole lot of funding for their experiments, they were behind a concrete wall with a bulletproof glass window in the desert where, not too far away, scientists had tested the first atomic bomb. Jack was standing some 300 feet away, watching through a pair of binoculars. As the Ray charged, the scientists chatted idly, and one of them accidentally hit a button that altered the Ray's target from the elephant to Jack. They didn't know about it until the Ray went off. It hit Jack, turning him into a mammoth humanoid. At that point, he panicked, trumpeting in horror, and charged at the concrete wall. The scientists scattered, and the elephant trumpeted in terror and fled as the new being that was Jack busted through the wall, breaking the Infuser Ray. He then barreled off into the desert, and lived for a time on his own. He became resourceful at surviving. One day, he happened across a train that was stopped in the middle of nowhere. He heard gunshots, and a small group of train robbers hopped out of the back car, a hostage in tow. In the distance, he could see a car coming towards them, and assumed it was their getaway vehicle. Acting fast, he barreled through the robbers, careful to avoid the hostage, and took them down with a swing of his tusks and trunk. Then he charged the car (which turned out to be a Hummer), crunching the front of it and knocking the driver out cold. He made his escape into the desert and realized that his new gifts could help protect people, so that's what he decided to do. He went to the first town he could find, stopped a bank heist, and when asked who he was, he said, "I'm Mammoth," and walked off.
