Fought for the first time in armor....well sort of. It wasn't a real fight, but someone was hitting back.
Got socked twice in the head.....I need to work on that.

Got to work on my suit of armor. Sure it's plastic, but I don't have a metal workshop in my backyard. The breastplate's done, only a couple modiifications to be made.Still need the arms and legs, but for one days work, I'm not complaining. Once I get the full suit, I'll post pictures.
Oh, and one other thing. I've been working on my persona, but I've hit a snag. I WAS going Byzantine, but for various reasons, I'm changing it. Thinking of going Germanic, or maybe English, perhaps Italian. Not sure which.

You need to work on getting socked in the head? I'm going to give you some advice... work on NOT getting socked in the head. It worked wonders for me.

Heading to Columbus Saturday for my first event!
Red Dragon, promises to be fun I think. Also get to see my parents, so that's even better!

Back! Red Dragon was definately fun!
No idea when my next event will be, but I do know... I need to finish my armor, work on my fighting, get some garb at some point....
This is proving to be an expensive hobby.

Ah yes. The cost was basically the biggest reason I stopped.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could get a job, but getting a job actually COST me financial aide. I'm serious, I made 1000 bucks over a years period(I only worked a few hours a week), and lost more than that in financial aid. Jerks.

I'm serious, I made 1000 bucks over a years period(I only worked a few hours a week), and lost more than that in financial aid. Jerks. I'm aware of several such situations. When I used to work in daycare, it never ceased to amaze me that the government would give aid to people to pay for daycare, but it was based on how much you make as a household. It actually encouraged couples not to marry (because as long as you're not married, you don't have to include spousal income), and married couples to have only one family member working, or to maintain minimal income. In one case, a woman got several hours of overtime due to the holiday season, and thus earned an extra 75$ a week for 3 weeks... and lost over 150$ a week in state paid childcare. I'm not a huge fan of social programs in the first place, but there's gotta be a smarter way to do these things.

Yes, but the government will never find it.

Yes, but the government will never find it. Truth. My Father works for the Social Security Administration. The only thing the Government is efficient about is inefficiency.

Not neccesarily their fault. Well...ok it is. Fact is, they try to come up with rules for every situation. The end result is....a lot of rules that don't neccesarily make sense in certain situations. It make sense, for example, that if you make a certain amount of money, you shouldn't get much help from the government. What doesn't make sense is they don't differentiate between temporary bursts of income, and long term increases. Losing a bit of money after a raise makes sense. Losing money because of a Christmas bonus? Does not.
Fight practice cancelled....annoying. Stupid dance group....

Dare I ask what a dance group has to do with fight practice getting canceled?

They took over the hall we were using for fight practice. And as this is a college campus....we don't have many options for practice.
