Hello all! After playing a couple of short campaigns my friend/GM convinced me to create an account here. So I'm saying hi and all.
Now the thing is I'm kind of lost on here. I've been browsing around for like 3hrs and I'm confused on where certain post should go or where i should look for certain advice and such.
Also I'm confused on some of the Lingo as such terms like CAD, OC, and so on.
Thanks

Welcome to the Board! It is always good to get new members.
Anyway, the best advice I would give is read through the stickies above in this section would help a lot.
After that, if you are looking for a game there is a general RP thread before all the threads of the actual games.
As for your questions;
CAD (Character Action Display): Is your character sheet/info etc.
OCC (Out of Character Chat): Means the posts/chat that is done outside of your character.
Once again, welcome and everyone here will give you help where you need it.

I f you have a question, just feel free to post something here, and it'll be resolved. Some more shortenings that i know off the top of my head:
OC: Original Character CC: Close Combat RC: Ranged Combat MURPG: You should know this OP: Depending on the person/board, means overpowered or original post (here it's mostly the former) TK: Telekinesis (Often, but not always)
There's probably 50 billion more, but most of them are easy to figure out after you've seen them in context once or twice.
I also feel somewhat weird giving out advice...

Hi, kito! Welcome to the boards. You should check out the Rules Discussion board, though it's a grab bag of all kinds of threads about rules. There should be some in there that talk about hypothetical new actions. A lot of fun stuff, such as "origami" or "rock star" or whatever fall under "Personalized Action", which is really just a generic name for any sort of profession or hobby. Just rename it, and sort out what it does with your GM. ^__^ ~TWF

Yeah, there's quite a tight community here. ^__^ The game is so flexible that you can play almost any type of scenario you can imagine, which keeps it fresh and fun.
Good luck with the GMing!

Good luck with the GMing! ~TWF TWF said it well, but the fact that it is flexible adds life to the game. If you surf through you will see steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, and traditional super hero games. The other nice thing is the effort based nature of the game makes it a fantastic play by post RPG system

You will also find the 'other' category occasionally. Like apocalyptic, based off T.V./movie, other systems, and 'just-plain-weird'.
Examples of which include: Star Wars games (Movie and other system) Bleach (T.V.) L5R (Other System) Fallout (Apocalyptic) Reality T.V. (No idea) Smallville (Other system) SAW (Movie) That one weird Meatloaf based game... (Just-plain-WEIRD)
What was up with that one anyway?

We try not to ask....
Plus you'll also find the massive crossovers Super Champions and Omniversal Adventures. I don't know if Ultra is looking for more people, but I know I'm always welcoming...
Alright, shameless plug over.
Welcome newbies, it's good to have you!

ya ^^ but how long does it normaly take for question to be answerd on bord on average? Depends on the question... What's the cost level of Metamorphosis (AN=CL+6) is an easy one. What is the meaning of life? Well, I'm not sure about that one... (in before 42)
