Costumes are good when they invoke nostalgia or other good feelings, and when you can tell people put a lot of work into them. The original source material is hardly important I saw a guy in a Batman costume this year (full grown man), but it was the campy Adam West costume. Not a great show, awesome costume.

You mileage may vary- a lot of people think that 60's Batman was plenty awesome, even if just becouse it was so stupid.

Particularly because they tend to find garbage like the 60's Batman awesome, but garbage like Batman & Robin awful. If camp is good then camp is good. The reality, much more often, is that these people are simply being pretentious.

I don't hate the 60's show. I just don't like it. It was what it was. When I was a kid, I loved it (not as much as Green Hornet though). I just don't have as much appreciation for it anymore.
Adam West has, recently, done some really funny stuff. He's a lot like William Shatner, in that reinventing himself has been made a lot easier by the fact that he doesn't take his previous work all that seriously.

Nickelodeon? The children's TV channel. Used to show You Can't Do That On Television? Goddamit, we're old if that's our go-to iconic TV show for Nickelodeon.

I was going to point out that Alanis Morrisette was on You Can't Do That on Television by way of making it sound more relevant, but then I realized she hasn't done anything in a few years either, so it wouldn't really help my point.

Power rangers to nickalodian, to captain planet, to browwiw damning everything because he thinks he's old (not true btw), to WK trying to make sense of television...yeah...this board needs to just DIE! ;D
..jk, by all means, continue on! It makes me giggle.

Cheese ages well. & If you hope for it to be good - it is not camp it is just bad. Personally I find Batman & Robin really enjoyable in a campy way now, but when it first came out and I was hoping for a good movie I was terribly dissapointed and could not appreciate the goofiness. I could say the same thing about the second Batman movie which had penguins strapped with weapons. . . The first time I saw it I was just thinking "WTF terrible" years latter it is more of a "WTF - giggle"

Ah, but what about the tiny Purple Alien trying to do the same thing? Remember Widget? No...

Still doesn't look familiar. But then, I watched a lot of cartoons. No way I could remember them all (and if it came out after I was 12, there's a real chance I was stoned every time I saw it...)

That purple thing is scary. The name sounds familiar though.
So ya. To be honest. I would love to get my hands on the first 3 or 4 seasons of power ranges on DVD. I enjoyed that show until whatever it became after the Neo Rangers.

Power Rangers Zeo was like season 3. Then Power rangers Turbo. Then Space.
Personally I enjoyed those early seasons initially, but I can't go back and watch them now. All that Bulk & Skull "humor" makes me want to shoot myself.
