I always thought Alec Baldwin was an under rated actor. He's pretty diverse in his acting skills. One roll I remember him in particularly was in the Jerry Lee Lewis movie. Baldwin played Jerry Lee’s cousin who was also a southern preacher, and was convincing. Then you had the Shadow which put him in a different roll, and I thought he did pretty well in that movie. Then on 30 rock and SNL he proved how funny he can be. Team America joked about him being “The Best Actor Ever,” and that was funny, but he’s actually pretty good in my opinion? I agree here, I thought The Shadow was a good movie and I still enjoy it. I also agree Baldwin is a underrated actor and actually think he is pretty damn good.

I agree he's got all kinds of talent, but I'm not sure how Alec Baldwin is underrated. The guy gets sucked up to by the Hollywood elite all the time. He's the Charlie Sheen of the East Coast (okay, he's more talented and much less of a scum bag than Sheen, but still)

I think Alec Baldwin was pretty much "rated" as an actor, but underrated as a comedic actor until his role on 30 Rock. He's a genius on that show.
I must find this second trailer and give it a look. Even if it's better, though, it's probably because they recut it after the first trailer was so roundly mocked. It isn't necessarily an indicator that the film will be better.

The second trailer IS better. Just not better enough.
I think a lot of people were aware that Baldwin is awesome as a comedic actor before 30 Rock. I loathe the man and everything he believes in and stands for, but he's the only reason I would ever watch Saturday Night Live. Every time he hosts, its pure gold. I'm not saying he didn't get more respect for his comedic chops after 30 Rock started, I'm just sayin'... you don't get to host SNL as many times as he has if somebody isn't seeing your talent.

That's true: I'm leaving out his SNL appearances, which is a big oversight. How could I forget his appearance with the Canteen Boy? Plus, there's no beating his balls. ~TWF

Just saw this trailer and while it does look better, I noticed that it uses much shorter cuts from the film. That's usually a sign that they're trying to make it look like something it isn't (by taking short cuts which can be easily taken out of context, especially when set to the right music for tone). The longer cuts that remain are mostly the same dumb jokes - most of which are exhaustingly homophobic. But I'm still more hopeful than I was before I watched it, so that's something. ~TWF

I'll likely go and see it. I'm a sucker for movies that re-make things of my youth... and I do vaguely recall the old Television version that was on alongside Adam West's Batman. Plus, I'm still at a phase where I find Seth to be mildly amusting. Maybe it's because he reminds me of some old stoner friends I lost touch with over the years and never actually smoked any myself. <shrug>

I'm okay with Seth Rogen, in some things. I just don't see any reason to make Green Hornet funny.
The previews for this movie all remind me of Kevin Smith talking about how, if he wrote a super hero movie, it wouldn't have any action, it would just be guys standing around talking about action that was going on off-screen. The best looking clips I've seen from Green Hornet are where Britt and Kato are chatting about the crap they'll need to become heroes.

And they kinda handwave the reason why he wants to be a hero. His dad died or something.. and I guess he feels like he could have stopped it or something? Meh, who cares about that - let's make 3 no-homo jokes in 2 minutes! Thats popular these days, right?~TWF

If there's a super hero movie that only talks about action I'm not going to watch it. I've had enough debates with my peeps about the very same thing to make watching a movie about it loose it's appeal.
I generally don't watch movies about things I can do, or have done in the past. There's just no point too it. I haven't fallowed Kevin Smiths’ work in a while, but if he really indents to make a movie about that I hope somebody pours itching powder in his tights.
That was an okay clip, but keep in mind they put the very best stuff in the clips to make the movie look good.
After seeing this movie I do not think it will be an accurate portrayal of the original concept. However, it could very well still be as popular as any Seth Rogan Movie would be. I don’t see non Green Hornet fans not liking the movie because they don’t know The Green Hornet and how he’s suppose to be. For People like us who know something about the Green Hornet maybe not so much.
Also, I was wrong Alec Baldwin isn't under rated at all. He's won allot of awards including an Golden Globe, and an Emmy. I just now read that.

The "no-homo" phenomenon is where guys say "no homo!" when about to say something that could in any way be construed as stereotypically gay; sometimes they say it afterward. A "no-homo" joke is any sort of "but I'm not gay" comment, such as the whole "he's my man.. well it's platonic.." gag, and the "take my hand" > "I don't want to touch you" joke, etc. In general, a significant portion of the trailer was dedicated to making it very, very clear that the main character is totally straight, despite the fact that he spends late nights wearing domino masks with an Asian servant boy.~TWF

Oh, yeah! I got the same idea from the trailer, I'm just not as "up" on current trends as you, I guess

As a single guy with a hot female best friend and an 8 pound dog named after a Disney princess (I didn't name her), who watches foreign teen dramas, has an interest in crocheting, and studies languages in his spare time, I'm fairly exhausted by the assumption that certain things mean you're gay. lol If I said "no homo" every time I did something ambiguous, people would think I had Tourette's. ~TWF

Wow, that was interesting. I did not even know that was a trend, how screwed up.
