So, I do not know about everyone else but the "Pulp" super heroes have a special place in my heart. This includes The Shadow, Green Hornet, The Lone Ranger, and a few others. I am excited about this movie even though I think the acting choices are a little odd. Thoughts? Opinions? www.sonypictures.com/movies/thegreenhornet/

I bought one of the collectable Black Beauty Key Chains. I want to get some Kato toys too as kind of a a throwback to Bruce Lee. He played that character before. I still have one of the action kick and punch Brue Lee action figures from the 80’s.
I'm just kind of iffy about having Seth Rogan play as Hornet. At least they aren't pitching George Clooney for the roll like they entended a few years ago. He was the worst Batman ever.

I am iffy about their choice for actor too, but I have high hopes. Back in the day I was the Green Hornet a few Halloweens in a row.

I mainly remember it because of Bruce Lee, but the Green Hornet and Kato shared a station with Batman And Robin, Adam West. So, it was kind of a big deal. Batman just ended up standing the test of time. I'm not exactly sure why the Green Hornet and Kato faded into the background, but it's worth checking out if you like the old school Superman and Batman TV series, or Bruce Lee.

I thought Scott Pilgrim was awesome...
But I have zero hopes for this Green Hornet movie. It's not going to be a Green Hornet movie. It's going to be a Seth Rogen as an incompetent, joke-cracking goober who just happens to use the name Green Hornet.

Aww man, I was doing so well at forgetting this movie exists. Now I have to start all over again.

I really hope the movie is not bad, I really do. It might not be something I see in the theaters depending on my budget ect.

When is Doc Savage going to get a movie? I heard about this, and while I do enjoy Pulp heroes....modern portrayals of them are lacking and I don't have high hopes for the movie, sure nostalgia for somebody but satisfaction is not likely.

I had high hopes for the movie . . .
Then I saw the preview, did it make anyone else think of Pink Panther or Adam West Batman? It seems way too goofy/comedic for my tastes.
One day they will do a good Green Hornet movie, I have very little hope that this is it.
Update: the opinion was based on Trailer 1, I just watched Trailer 2 . . . it seems a little better but still well within "wait for the DVD"

One day they will do a good Green Hornet movie, I have very little hope that this is it. Won't happen within our lifetimes. Green Hornet is nostalgia-inducing, but for most people, he's a fifteenth-tier character at best. When this movie nukes all interest in the character (and it will), nobody else will try to make another one for the forseeable future. If GH were, say, Batman, maybe it could survive this crap-tastic exposure, but he's not.

I agree, Seth Rogan will kill the Green Hornet.
Batman Survived the Batman and Robin movie, and it had the two worst possible actors for the roles. Arnold as Freeze, and George Clooney as Batman. I like some of Cloontang's movies, but Batman and robin wasn't one of them.
I'm not sure about the actor for Kato either, but comparing anyone to Bruce Lee is going to set very high standards.
Did anyone else here watch The Shadow? That wasn't that bad of a movie compared to some of them I've seen over the years. I've even heard a couple of the radio broad cast via the internet after that movie came out.

The Shadow was alright. The "lore" of the Shadow is pretty wide-ranging, as he's had several different incarnations, so they did well with what they had to work with. Baldwin was an odd choice, but it worked.
I agree that Batman & Robin was a bad movie, but I don't blame Clooney. The script was terrible, and he had most of the worst lines. Arnold was just plain bad, and I have no idea what the casting director was thinking (but then, I think Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones were terrible casting for the previous movie, too). Also, you forgot whatserface that played Batgirl. She was horrendous in that movie.

I always thought Alec Baldwin was an under rated actor. He's pretty diverse in his acting skills. One roll I remember him in particularly was in the Jerry Lee Lewis movie. Baldwin played Jerry Lee’s cousin who was also a southern preacher, and was convincing. Then you had the Shadow which put him in a different roll, and I thought he did pretty well in that movie.
Then on 30 rock and SNL he proved how funny he can be. Team America joked about him being “The Best Actor Ever,” and that was funny, but he’s actually pretty good in my opinion.
Yeah, I remember Alicia Silverstone in that movie. Wasn't that the very last movie she did?

No Alicia Silverstone was in 6 movies before Batman and Robin, and 14 movies afterward...all of which I never heard of save for Scooby-Doo 2 (Which I never saw), and Tropic Thunder (Which I have no interest in watching). As for Batman and Robin...the movie sucked and blowed, and ever since seeing the Nostalgia Critics review, there's nothing I can say that he didn't, at some point, cover. I've seen the Shadow when I was about 10, and even now I still think it was a pretty good movie. Granted I know absolutely nothing about the character it was interesting to watch. Phantom was too, though it's not quite as interesting as it was when it first came out in theaters. Not sure if it's the movie, or me on that one. Anyway I'm iffy about the Green Hornet. I'm not sure Seth Rogen's a good choice for the role, though from what I heard, it was a last minute casting after Nicholas Cage backed out of the role. The character will still be around, as I can't look at my local comic store, without seeing an issue of Green Hornet, Green Hornet Year One, and Kato comics alongside other Indie-comics, and that was months before the first trailer.
