MODIFIERS
Presence +1
-Phoenix Wright, despite his somewhat unfocused look at times, can be quite impressive when he wants to be, and his glare can be very intimidating. This bonus adds to all uses of his Social Skills, be it to gather information, get a point across or intimidate an opponent.
Good Luck +2
-Wright is so lucky it can even get insulting from time to time, as he seems to find just what he needs just when he needs to, allowing him to find the key to a case just in time.
Energy Battery 1
Deep Reserves 1
Mental Defense +2
Wealth: 2
CHALLENGES
-Mild obsession (-1; to succeed, to win. While this is not as noticeable as in his old friend Edgeworth, Wright still loves to win. While he will definitely not cheat to get to his goals, he will certainly do everything in his power to succeed at whatever it is he's doing, wether in court or elsewhere.)
-Mild Recklesness (-1; when in dangerous/stressful situations, Wright will often act before he thinks, sometimes putting him in more trouble than he already was.)
-Optimistic (-2; Wright likes to focus on the good aspects of life, and tries to see the good in everyone he meets, if there's any to be found. He has learned to trust in his clients and friends, and often relies on them more than he perhpas should, rather than on himself.)
-Duty (-3; uncover the truth. Not only does he shares Edgeworth's drive of seeking the truth, he is actually the one who inspired the Prosecutor to do so.)
-Rival (-2; to Miles Edgeworth, the prosecuting attorney. While both are good friends and work for truth and justice, their profession makes them frequent opponents in court, and both will work twice as hard to "defeat" the other, until one can prove that the other is wrong, in which case they will usually work together for the greater good. This rivalry started mostly because Wright was the first, and only, person to ever defeat Edgeworth in a trial.)
EQUIPMENT
-Business Suit
-Cellphone
-Watch
-Evidence kit
-Maya Fey's Magatama (this small, mystical amulet was given to Wright by Maya Fey, and then charged with the spiritual energy of her cousin, Pearl. Its strange powers allow Wright to see "psych-locks" on people who hide the truth or keep secrets hidden from him. In game terms, it grants him an "Enhanced Vision" of MN 6 (Discern lies, Detect secrets). It won't allow him to read people's minds, of course, but if he knows that they do keep secrets hidden from him, he can try to press them for information until they tell him the truth.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STORY: Phoenix Wright is a prodigy among defense attorneys, being the pupil of the greatly talented attorney, Mia Fey. He is especially renowned for his ability to turn desperate trials around at the last minute, thus claiming victory when all seems lost. He was doing well enough as Mia's student, when Mia Fey herself was murdered, and her younger sister, Maya Fey, was accused of being her killer. Wright defended her in the trial, and managed to prove her innocence and find the true killer out... AND expose him for all his crimes and shady dealings at the same time.
Various victories later, he eventually faced his old friend, now his most determined rival, Miles Edgeworth, the Demon Prosecutor himself. He defeated him each time thanks to hard work, research, help from his friends and quite a bit of luck. Later, Edgeworth was accused of a murder himself, and Wright convinced his old rival to let him defend him in court. Once again, he won, and found the true killer out, the one and only Manfred Von Karma, Edgeworth's mentor and foster father. This event changed the prosecutor for the best, and renewed their friendship... somewhat.
Recently, Wright has joined two other defense attorneys of New York, both known to defend people they knew to be innocent rather than anyone who was guilty... in other words, both with a code of honor similar to his own: Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson. Along with his assistant, Maya Fey, these three lawyers are among the very best defense attorneys one could hope to get in the city. As long as the defendant isn't guilty, of course.
