Well... kind of.They aren't really in it to get super powers, it seems, but it's hard to argue that this is essentially what's going on. If I didn't abhor pain so much, I would be so interested in this stuff.

Hahaha, I promise that this isn't WK bait. I really think the whole body modification thing is interesting, even though it's something that I'd never be willing to do to myself.

Why would this be me-bait? LOL I'm not sure if any of this crap will ever actually work, but when it comes to this sort of thing, I figure whatever people wanna do, as long as they're not harming others, isn't my problem (just like with tattoos, piercings, and implanting horns, fangs, etc) Would I do it? No. But I don't need ESP that badly I guess. Have I done crazy things to improve my skills set? Yes. I used to do body hardening techniques (and they work!) until I found out that there is a practical downside. I meditate daily, and while I don't believe it provides me with any "super powers", I do find it makes me irritatingly calm (irritating to others, that is). *shrugs* I guess at the end of the day, yeah, I do think some of this stuff is crazy and even stupid, but people have always been doing crazy things to go further, to experience more. Those are experiences I'm happy to let them have. I get my thrills from normal, safe pursuits... like riding motorcycles and full-contact martial arts

I love the show Pysch. The lead character is so smart he makes people think he has super powers.

Actually he's not even smart. In fact he's pretty stupid, and probably has ADD to boot. His mind is just trained to pick up and put together details to a nearly preternatural level.
It's also helpful for him that important objects and information tends to glow when he looks at it. ;D

Wow, that is intensely stupid. It's called an iPhone, lady. Get one like everybody else. It does all the crap your implants do and about 3 bazillion other things that the iplants don't, but instead of needing to be connected to nerves deep in your body, they transmit signals to your brain through your eyes via light. We call that "seeing", which is one of your existing senses.
I'm jazzed about technology that allows people to replace senses they may have lost, though, like the little electric pads you put over your tongue that help the blind see (yes, they sorta work), cochlear implants (CIs) for the deaf and hard of hearing, and so on. (I'm anxious about the way that CIs get implanted into very young babies when the Deaf can live very complete lives without needing very risky and painful surgery, but when presented as an option rather than a necessity, it's an incredible invention.)
But that isn't what this is about. This is about cutting on yourself so that you can sense magnetic north with your fingertips instead of looking at a compass. Urgh.

Memo to crazy woman: "Lookup Body Dismorphoc Disorder, Symptoms of"
That woman is stupidly insane. She's putting foreign bodies into her own perfect body to try and make it better. No. The human body is the most complicated machine in the world, and it does everything it should do perfectly well as it is. If you have to cut yourself open to shove magnets into yourself so that you can 'feel' magnetic fields, then you're a douche who deserves to die from the gangrene and septicaemia you're going to give yourself sooner or later.

This is the first time I've seen someone with a few screws loose trying to shove other metallic objects inside them to make up for it.
EDIT: While thinking it could make them better, I mean.

Why can't we make diet grape soda? That's what I want to know. We have people working on bionic limbs and exoskeletal combat armor, bu we can't figure out sugar free grape Jell-O?
It's not that diet grape soda/Jell-O is that important, it's just that it seems so easy. You have diet root beer, diet coke, diet gingerale.. there's low calorie raspberry Jell-O, lemon, orange, lime, cherry, strawberry.... but no grape. WHY NOT? I DEMAND ANSWERS!
Mad scientists of the world, please just take like 30 seconds to tick that one off the list for me, then get back to your combat droids, and I promise not to say "I told you so" when your inventions inevitably kill us all.

I actually find it very interesting. Both from the point of using magnets to adapt a new sense to the concept of private and none professional body enhancement, always reminds me of Frankenstein. Oh and TWF www.grocerycouponnetwork.com/foodproducts/products.php?Id=12194now can i go back to making giant death robots?

I think you guys that are calling her stupid are missing an important point; this woman will almost certainly either kill herself, or at least make herself sterile with this idiocy. It's a score for the human gene pool either way, and if she does somehow accidentally turn herself into Magneto, chances are she's not bright enough to do anything really menacing with it.
