So, my birthday is in a month or so and I want to get my second tattoo. I have decided on getting the Captain America Shield on my right shoulder.
I am getting it for many reasons, a lot for personal beliefs and things like that.
Anyway, I would like to get a short saying or something inspirational written around it, something like four words or so.
The best I have been able to come with are the following;
"Long Live Freedom"
"Legends Never Die"
I know there is better things out there, so I am asking for help and input.
Thanks in advance.

You should just design your own tattoo. I only have a couple, but I drew out a scetches of what I wanted before I went to the parlor. Lucky me, and I held out until I found one that used bamboo needles when I was in New York. Tattoo's are expressions of yourself, and what better way of expressing yourself than by designing your own tattoo.

That does make sense, my first tattoo was self designed but a cross non the less.
I think that is great and all but when you find a symbol that tells so much about yourself and means so much to you on a personal level that nothing you can design would come close, I really do not think it matters if it is borrowed or self designed.
Keep the suggestions coming.

Are you going to make the shield old - signs of wear and maybe even some bullet holes - or keep it relatively new looking?

I was thinking to keep in new looking.

New looking is a much safer move. Once you start having tattoo artists go around and implement shading and other techniques beyond basic coloring, you run the risk of having something terrible permanently affixed to your flesh.

So I've heard.
I've finally decided what, generally, I'd like to get if I ever got a tattoo, but I can't bring myself to get it done because it would likely be very easy to screw up (lines everywhere).

I'm totally unoriginal. When/if I get any tattoos, it'll be a cross on my left shoulder, Cap's shield on my right, and my wedding ring on... my wedding ring finger...

Well, I always knew that, if I were to get a tattoo, I'd want it to be a line of music that resonates within me. I've finally found the piece (or at least the composer, but I'm pretty certain I know the piece), but bars of music will be tough to pull off well.

You know, that is kind of funny WK. I have a cross on my left shoulder with a banner on the bottom half that kind of overlaps it which reads in Greek exactly how it looks on the monument, Molon Labe. <----- That is the English Version. I am getting Cap's Shield on my right shoulder. I want a wolf piece on my back, a large one.
